ROOT Gaming re-forms - Page 57

This is not a thread to argue about destiny, or to argue about racism, witch hunts or anything other than the fact that root is getting back together. You do so at your own peril.

With no sponsors how are root players going to get to events, unless they pay with their own money? Fayth and Kiwikaki should be like the Vile Google guys and sponsor the team with their poker money. ![]()

It feels like it's the only "grassroots" gaming team that's at the top, many others just seem to be business-endeavors rather than real gaming teams. Haters might complain about the quality, but who gives a fuck. Good friends forming a clan playing together. CatZ even said in a Q&A that he rather plays in ROOT and has to pay for everything himself, than plays in Complexity (or any other team) with payment. He even went so far as to say that many members would put their own money in ROOT, because it's their team. Yes it still has to be organized like a business etc., but this is where passionate gamers came from. First gaming team shirt I will buy, right there ! Fuck yeah !

Odds are, any problem you could possibly think of, they probably considered and found a solution to or at least weighed the pros and cons and decided the way they're doing it is the best way for them. Whether they choose to share this with the general public or not is up to them, and you're in no position to demand that they do. Put simply, you have no ground to stand on in this kind of a discussion - which is why the only effect your few posts on the issue had is to irritate people who have to skim over them, rather than provide any worthwhile arguments. And given the tone of your posts ("guard dog" and all), I'm not at all convinced that wasn't your goal to begin with. You have to read my post in its context. I'm responding to a series of posts which were basically just flames in response to anyone who raised the concern of no sponsors. I then said that instead of flaming anyone who talks about it (some of which was not even that critical), we should just let ROOT figure it out and say what they have to say about it. I don't want ROOT to fail, in fact I want to see the NA scene get better. Even if ROOT included every one of my favorite players, I still would be concerned if I found out that they don't have any sponsors. To me it's a legitimate thing to talk about. Honestly ROOT should have expected people to ask about that, it's common sense. The OP doesn't discuss it except to mention that they're financially stable. If you're a fan, wouldn't you want to know something basic like whether they have sponsors? The hostility is what I don't understand, it seems really melodramatic to me. Since when is it inappropriate to talk about a team's sponsors or lack thereof? Isn't this the thread to discuss the formation of the Team ROOT? Aren't sponsors part of that? If EG reformed tomorrow under some new name, people would ask about whether they kept their sponsors.

+ Show Spoiler + ![]() I'm excited about Root reforming. I remember going to root's old website and downloading Drewbie's TvZ reaper openings, or even qxc's hilarious "ling only" zvt on metal. They had a great website. Best of luck doods!

And just how likely are they to find any with Destiny on the team? What's to celebrate here? This is assuming Col. was gonna lose sponsors cause of Destiny and they wern't going to. His presence on the team will have zero (meaning absolutely nothing) to do with their ability to pick up sponsors. They'll do just fine with Destiny on the team and I couldn't be happier that they're bringing back the majority of the old team while adding new additions like Vibe and Rotterdam. So please before making comments such as this which lack in intelligence please just think and stop feeding into the witch hunt that would've had zero effect on anyone at all since Col. wasn't even gonna drop him from the team.

Yeah, this is probably why ROOT is so appealing to a lot of people. It reminds me at least of when I got a group of friends together and tried to form a team and stuff. ROOT reminds me a lot of that, just a bunch of friends playing the game and having fun; it's not just a gaming business.
