It's Gosu, while a relatively new organization within the Electronic Sports industry in the West, has nonetheless played a fundamental role in the growth of the industry over the last year. In that time, It's Gosu has grown from a small grass-roots community into one of the more considerable forces on the continent, acquiring professional teams in Starcraft II, Dota 2, Heroes of Newerth, and League of Legends. Not only has It's Gosu attached a special importance to the professional scene, but the organization has also continued to prioritize casual gamers by offering monthly open tournaments available to players of all skill levels.
These efforts have earned It’s Gosu considerable notoriety as a pillar of the eSports community, and as a result have led to It’s Gosu eSports joining forces with the foremost names in the scene, Own3d.Tv, Razer and now NOS Energy Drink.
While NOS Energy Drink is better known for sponsoring the world’s best drivers, both parties share the same passion and keen interest in eSports. One of the core sponsors of one of StarCraft II’s biggest leagues, Major League Gaming, NOS has shown and continues to show their commitment to growing eSports. It is a privilege to be working with NOS Energy Drink, and through our collaboration we hope to see unprecedented growth of our own organization, as well as yet another major step forward as eSports enters the mainstream. This sponsorship will put our players on the spotlight, and fans will have the opportunity to know more from them or their success at their respective game by visiting this page: http://www.majorleaguegaming.com/nos
You can find below a statement from It's Gosu's General Team Manager, Scott "RuMCaKe" Ball:
"To have the opportunity to work with a company like NOS is really an honor. As an organization we are continually growing and improving, and it feels wonderful to know that it's being recognized. I look forward to an awesome rest of 2012, now that we have NOS on our side, we will never be tired."

Grats guys! Another sick sponsor joining the competitive gaming community is absolutely fantastic. I like NOS a lot too, although it feels more potent than most energy drinks.
As a team player on It's GoSu, I would sincerely like to thank you for the sponsorship. Your support will open many new opportunites for my teammates as well as help develop the mechanics necessary to enhance our Starcraft 2 skills. Also your contribution will enable us to participate in highly distinguished tournaments. These events will broaden our discipline and character, on and off the field, which is invaluable to our future endeavors. Without the support of people like you, we will not be able to reach our goals. Thank you once again for your generous support of It's GoSu.
Awesome. I'm happy with this for several reasons. Foremost I'm happy for itsGosu to get another strong sponsor but I'm also happy because I've been drinking only Monster and had been in the mood for Nos but hadn't seen them supporting many sc2 teams/events (though I could've just been missing their involvements).

NOS actually sponsors MLG and have been for a while =]
Huge Congrats to It's Gosu Team! Its been fun seeing their organization grow over the past year or so, and having their local players participate in our SoCal tournaments. Scott is a really pleasurable, dedicated person, and so is every player I've met on the Team (STX, Rhythm, HwangSin). I hope this allows an awesomely talented and passionate team to continue to pursue their goals.
Many thanks to NOS for supporting eSports, particularly It's Gosu. I'll have to go try a NOS, never had one before
i don't get why they would sponsor it's gosu.... they have some low tier-mediocre koreans and some internationally irrelevant americans/canadians but good for them i guess now they can maybe buy themselves some more koreans so they can seriously compete in international competitions (eventhough im not sure if they will get invited anymore if they only let play koreans like liquid)
nice that nos is sponsoring a team now not just MLG really shows that they have interest in e-sports maybe they should do some more research before they sponsor some team (maybe vile so they can maybe dig up some american talent which we really need desperately in the community right now imo)

what hate? are dde and yata relevant for international competitions? are their koreans top tier?
-NO just stating the facts here that made me wonder why nos choose them...
and they didn't really do well in EG masters cup either .... they are 2-5 i mean i don't have anything against it's gosu i just don't understand nos' decision to sponsor them
they would have got much more attention if they would sponsor a team with more fans and better players / players with more character just take this thread as an example if liquid would announce a new sponsor (no matter what sponsor) this thread would have ~50 pages by now but this thread has 3

If sponsors stuck to the 2 or 3 most popular teams our scene would fucking suck. Also gosu has teams in other games as well. Their old dota 2 team was sick.

You know what a hater is right? Do you not hear yourself? You're ripping on a team because...they have less pages of comments in a thread? Seriously?
And please look at the EGMCSL Season 7 website. They currently have 16 points in the standings. Just 3 points away from being tied with Empire. Also, what do you mean NOS should sponsor another team? You see how many teams are sponsored by Monster and/or Redbull right? You can't sponsor a team that's already sponsored by a competing brand. It's Gosu is new, and up-and-coming. They don't have a lot of signature sponsorships and have teams in other games. Perhaps you don't understand marketing.

The potency is precisely why I would drink it exclusively if I could freaking find it! It's not sold in any stores near me and I can only find it at gas stations.
NOS, I want to drink your product...I really really do. Please make it available.

You have absolutely no idea what went on in the talks between It's Gosu and Nos so you're in no position to say It's Gosu shouldn't be sponsored by Nos. This sponsorship is great because it helps grow the American scene.

Lol @ this hipster trying to get attention in the thread and spark up an argument.
Congrats to it's Gosu. Always great to hear of more sponsorships, I will most certainly let NOS know of my appreciation.
I wonder where all the people who emailed Quantic's sponsors over the drama, and posted endlessly in that thread, are now. If they care so much about esports why aren't they congratulating it's Gosu and thanking NOS?

Not GoSu's fault that other team's marketing department fails to sell their organization properly.

OH SNAP lol ^^
Anyway, thank you everyone for your support <3 I hope you'll drink a lot of NOS because it sure tastes good!
Not sure why people are saying they are an up and coming team, they have been around since late 2010 or something like that.. Either way YaTa is cool as hell and he deserves a great sponsor! I use to enjoy DDE then he kinda fell off and the rest of the team has really been lack luster in my eyes. Either way I do know they have some other great teams in the E-Sports arena so this is probably the best move for NOS to get more attention. For them to join up with one of the few NA based teams will definitely give them more exposure across the NA E-Sports scene, so cheerio for NOS on picking one of the few NA teams to market their brand!
Good for ItsGosu, and I hope this sponsorship will help put my homie g dawg YaTa on a plane to Anaheim!!

did you actually read what i wrote? what i was trying to say is not that the team is bad or anything because i don't care about it's gosu at all
i was just saying that i don't understand why nos would sponsor it's gosu a team with -I will say this again and you can't deny the fact that this is true- a lot of mediocre and internationally irrelevant players. if i was the marketing manager of nos i would never even consider to sponsor it's gosu I'm sorry and i don't mean to bash the team or offend the fans but almost none of their players have ANY achievements whatsoever and their biggest success was qualifying for EG masters season 7 where they are currently at 2 wins and 5 losses (i don't know what you are talking about with them being almost tied with empire....)
and i wasn't "ripping on them" because they have less pages in a thread it was just another example to prove my point that noone really cares about it if they sponsor a team like it's gosu or are you saying that sponsors love to get as little audience for their sponsored team as possible? --- yeah right...
also it's gosu is not a "new" and "up-and coming" team ... they have been around since 2010 pls do youre research before you complain

Major mainstream sponsor, this can only be a good thing for ItsGosu.
Not sure if anyone would have seen, but one of the MLG Halo pros Strongside also picked up a NOS sponsorship deal in the same annoucement. Obviously NOS have been pleased with the results they have had from sponsoring MLG and want to invest more into eSports. I guess we have ourselves to thank for that :D

Too true.
Also, keep in mind you do not always know anything about the negotiations that went on, or what NOS was looking for, or even what our future holds. You really know nothing but the surface, so criticizing will just make you look foolish! If in a year we are no better, then it's maybe fair.

besides all those results... don't believe sponsors watch the results of every tournament out there... The management doing a good job of showing what they can bring, as far as exposure goes, to a sponsor, and just knowing how to deal with them, are as much as or even more important than cutting edge results. And hopefully sponsors don't all jump on the 2/3 best teams.... 1) a team can't have XX main sponsors > less exposure by being 4th sponsor of a big team, than 1st of a "second tier" team, plus it might even cost less money 2) with your reasoning, 90% of teams would outright die. "Hey, you're not the best one, sorry I'm outta here".
Congrats to them, and best of luck in future tournaments GoSu guys !
