![]() I live in Kitchener/Waterloo/Cambridge area. GTA would be more accurate. Pearson is in Mississaga but mostly everyone calls it's the Toronto airport, so I guess this isn't that off. It makes sense to be near the airport. They want to make it accessible to as much people (not just local) as possible. It's already cheap for us locals that don't have to cross border or fly.

This being the only premier tournamet being held in Canada in the near future will bring a lot of fans out while USA might have a bigger fanbase it is already oversaturated. CAD and USD are just about equal nowadays.

In fact...I don't think the CAD has been below the USD in several years now. Players should ask to be paid in Australian though ![]()

From what ive seen from tournament coverage lotta players like to go around, eat see stuff. That might not be as accessible (or interesting) in the area which NASL will be held. But again, downtown toronto convention centers are just too expensive, its hard to really make everyone happy! Well first of all, players won't have time during the event to sightsee, they'll be too busy competing. If they do spend an extra day or two in the area after the event, it's not a big deal to get to DT Toronto from the area. If you just flew several thousand KM to get to the NASL S3 Finals, what's another 20 km to go to DT Toronto? It's a rounding error, it's trivial. As someone that has traveled much of the World for business, I can tell you that making the time to sightsee is the hard part. Traveling the last 20 km to sightsee once you're there is easy.

There are 2 million people in the GTA core alone. That's not even counting mississauga, scarborough, hamilton, burlington, oakville etc. This is by far the most dense population outside of Korea that a major tournament has been held in,

Guy has a point as well. We're talking about the Greater Toronto Region opposed to Toronto itself. It's good for anyone who's coming outside of Ontario/Quebec though as the Airport is right there. I'm not surprised tickets sold out so fast, but this is the first time I'm hearing the event went on sale, lol. Oh well. Don't think I would be around town in either case.
