I think progression from BW to SC2 is a good thing, it's been 2 years since SC2 release, if we consolidate all the fans then we have a much bigger scene rather than basically an identical game being seperated. The BW pros who switch aren't going to smash against a skill ceiling; they will adjust to the new game's mechanics and the smart players (JD, FLash, Bisu) will survive, because their superior mechanics will keep up with the sc2 requirements, and when they arent managing 12 units at a time im sure there will be some epic displays of multitasking and strategy. Saying that i'm sure there's some BW pros who will switch and fail because their main strength WAS their mechanics and were lacking in terms of creativity/starsense/strategy, which IMO in SC2 is like the main differential between a mid-level pro and the top ends. BW has to die, its old now, the longer it takes the harder to adjust for the pros, let's be honest I'm sure alot of the pros still play BW not out of love of the game, but the fact that that was where their money was being made. And BW die-hards, would you rather see Starcraft 2 or League of Legends become the mainstay eSports title in the coming years? If you answer LoL, you aren't as die-hard as you claim to be. Love thy grandson as thy love thou son and protect your own! Wait, are you fucking kidding me? You do realize big BW events get millions of viewers right? Maybe you should go read all of their interviews then. Everything in that statement is false. And sorry, just because something has Starcraft in it's name does not mean it automatically earns my viewership/support. This is honestly one of the stupidest posts I've seen yet.

Also I'm pretty certain Sc2 games are way more fun to watch (not necessarily as much skill displayed), and there is a huge viewer base for Sc2 which is also international. Wow. Amazing. You're totally right, I never realized it. I am now an SC2 fan.

Their frustration is understandable and just letting them have this to rant isn't really a big deal... Yet not warning others is? Thats my point. In general Admins are people who have to forget about "who people feel" and be fair, other way they make the mistake (quite common on the other hand) to think the world sees things the same way that i do. Im quite sure us internet guys can do better than this :D

Man as someone who enjoys both games let it go, fanboys as a definition will never be convinced of anything. Unless you'd be willing to admit you could have your view of SC2 changed?

I hate it that so many SC2-only fans bash on Broodwar for being inferior to its updated "counterpart". Broodwar is still very exciting, and SC2 games cannot compare to it in any way. I really wish that the Broodwar pro scene will not die soon. A combined SC2/BW Proleague is a good prospect yes, but phasing out BW eventually is not.

I think everyone will agree that when bw started and proleague became famous, pc gaming was a "nerd thing", and i mean it in a negative way in this case. This is like saying: Call of duty 4 is far better than call of duty 1-2. Hold on here: call of duty 1-2 reached how much of its potencial market? i mean at that point how many ppl even cared of gaming. And of those, how much % actually got the game. You cannot compare things that are 3 years apart at all, much least 10+ years! Its like comparing mayan human sacrifice to a serial killer. It just dosent add up. I know some people might think that im going a bit too far by comparing 10 years to 3.000 years of history, but our world changes so rapidly that a small market like gaming can easily shift even on 1 single game.

When it comes to elders, one must respect and understand what they have done. So many of the newer members don't seem to realize that this site was initially a BW site. Also, the warning is legitimate as it is in accordance with the Ten Commandments (1st commandment). That being said, I sincerely hope they do not merge the two games. I enjoy watching BW and I enjoy watching SC2. But as strange as it may seem, I just know I won't enjoy watching BW+SC2.
