2012 NSL(NeoTV Star League) is in progress in China, 16 starcraftII stars gather in Shanghai , fighting for the champion and qualifications of WCG China Final.
i had to say, the video of NSL is awesome! you must like it!
Wow, Neo TV actually pulling out some work, there was alot of skepticism in China because of Neotv winning the rights to the GSL broadcasting instead of plu (a respectable BW channel). Great to see that they are getting this off the ground.

plu does lots of rebroadcasts though they rebroadcasted the 3 open season of gsl which is of course illegal

Hey guys this banner is similar to how game banners have been for quite some time in China.
THEY MUST HAVE COPIED GSL, OBVIOUSLY! LOOK AT THE SIZE OF IT!
Oh, wait.
But WOW I really like it :D Loner, Infi, Toodming, LoveTT and Lyn? WTB!
Why so sarcastic? It's not a secret that China copys about everything.
Or they could be emulating the BW scene that they have passionately followed for years. I think the SPL Finals last year had something close to 1 million chinese viewers on stream.

Orly? That's news to me.
Actually,The Neotv just made a choice between the GSL and NSL.
For those who is interesting about this tournment, I uploaded it to youtube, here is the playlist for the first day's games, it's in Chinese, but still hope you all enjoy it... http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6F57FDD1A053D8F8
Reminds me of the OSL intro's! Very cool!! Remember Jaedong, flash and sometimes Bisu would get more airtime because they are the 3 gods of each race ^^
MORE details: Group A: XiGua , Loner , LoveTT , MacSed , LOUP , Lyn , Comm , Courage Group B: Toodming , Kingcn , Xy , Ezrc , F91 , Lovecd , InFi , jim
XiGua: eight winners (War3 of WCG2008,beated by TOD) LoveTT:semifinal winner(SC1 of WCG2008,beated by Stork) Lyn:champion(War3 of WCG2011) F91: eliminated from the group(SC1 of WCG2010,beated by Jaedong),by the way, once he prostrated himself under the dress of Tossgirl in an Exchange competition between China and Korea. Lovecd: SKY's little brother INFI:champion(War3 of WCG2009)
Yeah Gom actually used that exact same song for one of the BW invitational videos. Honestly probably one of my favorite hype songs for videos. Has such good energy!
The slowmo and water effects were so overdone it was embarrassing to watch. Why do Chinese always have to sprinkle fighting into Starcraft? First Korean Air OSL 2 finals and now this. They could also use some hair styling advice from the Koreans.
Neotv has not foreign staffs yet, everything is in chinese.maybe English site coming soon.:-)
Still haven't uploaded todays VODs
Sorry,by some obvious reasons, our goverment ordered all video sites in China censorship videos uploaded one by one,to make sure there‘s nothing “dengerous”。 Maybe several hours is nessecery for that。-_-
Reminds me of OSL intro. Heck they're even using the same music! ;D
Awesome stuff!

Young nerds, corny college punkrock and water splashing? This isn't manly competition - this is The Chippendales + Blink182.
If you look at any BW intros of old this is very similar to how they're done. ._.

Anyone know details of this tourney, like when does it begin and if there's any streams?
Sure there is stream http://live.neotv.cn/nsl.html Here it is, chose NEOTV星际直播2——二代直播,its stream without pulgin. Next live will be in 27/03/2012 CET 11;00 am
great video, but i wish they didnt flash the lyrics of the song as if it was a mv. they shouldve put the names of the players or something like proleague does it.
i didnt like the intro at all, looked very childish and i am not really sure who over 18 would find it appealing :/
i dont know about the song either.. the lyrics arent very clever and doesnt have anything to do with starcraft, and the music is just plain awful. i dont understand why gsl (and nsl?) seem to be comfortable with alienating the viewers that doesnt like nu metal and k-pop
Hoping the quality of Chinese SCII improves... they've so far shown some good blinkstalker ball control / builds. Nothing more really. Chinese Terrans are non-existent, F91 is nothing like his BW days, Xigua is good but not S-class.
Hope the Chinese can refine their play and become real contenders to Koreans soon
On March 24 2012 07:52 Risen wrote: Why is F91 so familiar?
Former broodwar player, was very known in the foreign community for beating Idra (Rekrul even made a blog post about it I believe). He also had some good runs in WCG for BW.
Would be nice to see more videos like this for large tournaments. Such a good concept that hasn't been used as much in SC2 yet. The over-the-top style is perfect...love it :D.

Loved the video!
I just found this post and loled. One more reason why living in teamhouses can be somewhat bad, I suppose. Reminds anyone of everyone getting sick in college dorms?
Sickest production value, really makes me want to watch it even though the level of play might not be the best. I really hope to see this for GSL or the next OGN hosted WCG ^_^

how do you call that a respectable channel
PLU is a respectable BW channel. Have you even tried to watch neotv's streaming service of the GSL, even in China while they had the official rights to them? It was horrendous, most of the time the stream wasn't even up, look in the VOD history they have had entire matches missing literally every other broadcast. And as far as I've seen / known PLU's rebroadcasts are with chinese commentary overlap of the korean broadcast and done at a later date / time, no different than Day9 doing a english commentary vod of BW. If I'm proven wrong then I take back what I've said about plu. I'm glad neotv's gotten this together and I've heard good things about their quality of work now, so good for them.

I'm really glad that China has been getting into the SC2 scene. Would love to see China potentially rival Korea in top players (didn't China dominate WC3?). Imagine the competition between the two nations...
Cool! remind me of OSL intro. Seems like SC2 is starting in China. If I remember right Battle.net championship final will likely be held in China this year too.
Dude, this league is incredible! The production level is awesome. and if you understand mandarin, they're castings are FAR superior to the Taiwanese league and I found them to be really enjoyable!

Very good, thank you! I'll definitely be posting videos and pictures if I can attend some of the matches. Chinese players are not very popular in the western community, hopefully I can find out more about them and post on TL.
Wow, just watched the video - really nice work for an up and coming scene! Shots of all the players standing there in ranks reminded me of Daum OSL 2007 intro <3 Video was overall a bit long, and that fighting at the end was a little drawn out, maybe cut it down by about 20-30 seconds of length. Really like the walk-up front shots of different players, definitely screams "OSL intros", which is only a good thing. Now all they need is a Chinese Reach to put on some headphones while fangirls scream...
Seriously, just have MarineKing walk slowly and Naniwa do a walk down the street while bad rock music plays behind them and you already have 50,000 more people watching your product, Chae.

Something GSL still needs to do: more focus on players!

“Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery - celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: “It’s not where you take things from - it’s where you take them to.”
