There's no way they can hope to continue to grow and produce good stuff if they don't ask for money to see it live. You will have the option of viewing for free a week after the fact... but who wants that?

Criticism is allowed. Undue flaming is not. Take a second to think your post through before you submit. Bans will be handed out. Should go without saying, but don't link restreams here either.

1) We cannot run MLG properly so we need to charge $20 for one event and stop free streams even though no other tournament does this. 2) We are greedy human beings by nature. What did you expect. Talk about being in lalala land. Sc2 community is exactly that, a community, so when we get ripped off, dont expect us to line up, we are not stupid.

I don't mind paying a bit extra for awesome content and the privilege to view it live with 200+ other sc2 fans in the local scene. You may want to confirm that you are allowed to stream it to a crowd... in most cases of ppv.. public establishments must pay a higher fee to stream the event to the public. Opps.. I hope I did not remind MLG of that option. Sorry bro.

Also, if you have checked out the overlay preview and interface, you can load quad streams and more, but a big problem was that this would lag every stream on the screen. Does anyone know if this will be the same, or is this a localized problem and I'm being internet-stupid.

I've supported GSL this year (after dropping the last few seasons last year), and it's been the best games since release. If MLG can increase even greater quality than they have alread for a few more bucks, it is worth the money. Suck it up, and help actually support the game. You must not have read a single opinion here. Plenty of people who support GSL are entirely against paying $20 for a 3 day event. The Value is not worth the cost to them. Add to another free event taking place the same weekend and the VOD's for MLG being available a week after for free and you basically have no reason to pay UNLESS you really need to see the matches LIVE. Don't make the mistake of saying that you are supporting the game by supporting MLG. MLG could give two shits about SC2 if it didn't bring the viewers it did.

People Want 5 streams! People Need HD! The folks will Love seeing 6 casters! And nobody wants to HURT ESPORTS + Show Spoiler + i don't know about you, but I'd tune in for free even if it was an online, low quality stream with 2 casters. $20? Sorry, I'll see Assembly instead. Or is supporting a European organization hurting esports now too?

1. length, one weekend vs almost 2 months 2. As I've said before I don't like seeing adults beat on children. Meaning there is massive blowouts whenever Koreans are teamed with foreigners. Not competitive. Similarly I don't like watching children fight. Foreigner vs foreigner. 3. The GSL offers the tippy top vs the tippy top, no exceptions. While MLG only offers a couple tippy top players so you can take nothing substantive away from it.

I'll also add that the MLG weekend tournament format allows for little to no preparation so we will see worse games for sure compared to Code S.

I think it also lets latent skill shine through and sees less weird snipey builds on the other side of the coin. Pluses and minuses to each of the formats for sure.
