Q: How does it feel to make it into the round of 8 for 2 consecutive seasons?
A: In the Code S Ro16 Group Selections I stated that I was going to make it into the Ro8. I am glad that I officially kept that promise. (T/N: Thank you Seeker for the translation :D) I thought this season would be really tough. I didn't expect to be able to qualify for the next round so easily. Kinda puts me at a loss of what to do.

Q: Before the matches, did you expect to face MVP, rather than Gumiho in the winner's game?
A: I know him very well. When I saw Gumiho defeat MVP to progress to the winner's game, I thought it was the best opportunity for me, and thought that I would definitely make it to the next round (laughs). Just kidding. I know both of them really well, so it didn't really matter which one of them advanced. I was confident of qualifying with 2 straight wins as long as I won the first series.

Q: You seem to be in pretty good form. How did you practise?
A: I found a few players who were my friends and asked them to help me practise. For the current season, rather than practising, I focused more on my strategies and adjusting my mental state.

Q: Who do you think you will be playing against in the round of 8? Or who do you hope you will be playing against in the round of 8?
A: I kept having the feeling that I was really weak during the group picking for the round of 16. It just felt like all the players for the round of 16 were all so strong. No matter who it is, I think it will be quite a difficult game. Even though I've made it to the round of 8 two seasons consecutively, I won't be satisfied simply with my current state.

Since all the problems are already settled, I will put all my focus on the competition. I hope I get to play against a Terran rather than a Protoss though.

Q: You begin playing as part of team Fnatic as of today. How does that feel?
A: This issue has been really frustrating for me, and I am glad it has been resolved. I don't have any particular thoughts, except to join the team as soon as possible. I am very happy that this whole issue has drawn to a close, and I think that what I should do now is to play well for my new team.

Q: You are going to be team mates with Moon in the future
A: He has been a famous player ever since Warcraft 3, and I believe that if he works hard, he can definitely achieve good results. I look forward to being his team mate, and also look forward to life in a foreign team.

Q: You have already secured seeding for the next season. What are your other goals?
A: I hope to make it to the finals this season. For last season, as long as you made it to the round of 8, you obtained picking rights. But this season, even if you got into the round of 8, you didn't have picking rights. This makes me kind of upset.

I just need one more win to make it into the round of 4, where I can finally have picking rights. I'm always the one being picked, and this makes me really unhappy.

Q: Say something to your fans.
A; The issue has been resolved, so I hope people will stop thinkinig too much about it. I am now a member of a new team, and I will work extra hard with a new attitude. I hope everyone will continue supporting me.

Q: Any finals things you want to add?
A: I want to thank our team sponsors. I also want to thank the players who practised with me even through this tough period.

(T/N: Hahaha he's so happy :D)

Q: How does it feel making it into the round of 8 for the first time?
A: I feel good. I feel really good. I wasn't as nervous as before for today's games. Honestly, I didn't expect myself to be able to beat MVP twice in a row.

Q: You won 2-0 against MVP, who picked you, in the first series.
A: To be honest, I wasn't very confident for the first series. I played really offensive because I wanted to play to my style. But it actually worked and gave me victory.

Q: You then lost 2-0 against aLive in the winner's game.
A: I chose the wrong strategies. My opponent had really good strategies, and because I got the feeling I was in a bad position from the early game, it caused me to play impatiently. I lost in terms of the opening, and I also lost in terms of my mentality. I think ultimately, it's just that he played too good.

Q: What were your thoughts facing against MVP in the final series?
A: I was half expectant, and half given up. I basically just gave up after losing the first game. Then I realised that I actually played better when I wasn't stressed.

Q: You even made the mistake of attacking your own command centre with your own marines in the final game.
A: I wanted to attack the neutral supply depot, but then I realised I was attacking my own base. However, I've made so many mistakes in the past, so this probably doesn't really count as one I guess. I've made worse mistakes than this before. It's fine as long as it wasn't destroyed (laughs).

Furthermore, there wasn't any real substantial damage. If I had made a mistake like being supply blocked, I think I would have lost.

Q: For the first time, you get to remain in Code S without playing in the up and down matches.
A: I am really happy. However, I am not really confident facing against MMA. I will try my best in preparing for the games though, and try to achieve victory. I learn a lot from watching MMA play. Perhaps, because of that, I feel like I am weaker when I have to play against a player of the same style.

Q: Who do you think you will face in the round of 8? There is a chance of a team kill with Oz
A; As I said before, I think it will be MMA. Even though it will be tougher playing against Oz hyung, I think Oz hyung will qualify as second in the group.

Q: Are you saying that the round of 8 will be your biggest hurdle? If you manage to make it past this hurdle, how do you think you wil do?
A: For today's games, I think MVP was my hurdle. TvT has always been my weakest match up, plus it was MVP, so that's why I feel that way.

As of now, I think that if I can play well in the round of 8, I will be confident of winning the competition. Amongst the remaining players, I am most afraid of MMA.

Q: Any last things you want to add?
A: I want to thank the players who practised with me. I also want to thank my team mates and coaching team for always coming to the studio to support me.

I also want to thank my parents. During the new year, I went to visit my grandfather, and realised he was a bit ill in health. I hope he can exercise more, and become healthy soon.

Alive is looking really strong in the groups stages. He could go far this season.

It really says something about MMA when even Gumiho expects MMA to win the group over his own teammate. I would have seen MMA come out of the group in 2nd.

This round was so good I loved the TvTs, especially Alive's meching.
Was sad too see MVP not hitting the peak of his performance today though. :<

Great translations!

Alive played fantastically and his 2 mech games against Gumiho were boner inducing.

It's a pity MVP fell against Gumiho but I always feel happy when mech beats bio.

The added bonus was Curious losing his 2 matches - I was raging at his style of play.

It doesn't make sense to say "Player X looked really strong in group play, he'll go far this season", when only one Ro16 group is played. Just wait until we saw all 4 groups, which are so packed of skill and talent. I think every of the 16 Players in this season's Ro16 has a realistic shot on winning the whole thing. So no need for predictions today, that may be rubbish tomorrow.

Even though liquibets is pretty hard with all the upsets, its nice to see that a bigger pool of players have the chance to win GSL. It also keeps the top players extra sharp i guess

Choya's happiness is awesome by the way, he was almost pulling Gumiho off his chair lol

Gratz to gumiho for managing to 4-1 MVP !
I don't agree with Gumiho, I think it will be SuperNova in 1st of his group, because things never go the way you excpect them to in GSL, and anyway the level of skill of pretty much everyone is so high I could see anyone won the GSL championship.

Btw MVP should requalify EZPZ in code S, he have to beat the winner of sen and sniper. As long he doesn't try to mech and don't die to sneaky all-in, there's no way he looses this.

Congrats to Gumiho, he looks soooo incredibly proud of himself. Does say something though when he picks MMA to advance first in a group with his own teammate facing him =/.

GuMiho definitely earned his ro8 spot. I think if aLive can avoid DRG or Nestea he has a great shot at this tournament.

This reminds me of the second last MSL

MVP is the best player in the world, picks Gumiho because he thought he would be easy then gets rolled in the actual games
Flash is the best player in the world, in a pre-game interview he says that there isn't a player that can oppose him then he gets rolled in the actual games

Flash then comes back in the next MSL and crushes everyone before getting surgery on his wrist and coming back even stronger. MVP also has wrist problems

A; As I said before, I think it will be MMA. Even though it will be tougher playing against Oz, I think he will qualify as second in the group.

GuMiho(or translation?) is wrong here, as MMA will versus aLive if he comes 2nd and GuMiho if he comes 1st.

Yeaa. The "he" refers to Oz. Maybe I should have worded it better haha. He means Oz will come in second, and MMA first, and he'll have to play against MMA.

At least, Mvp won Curious 2-1 (Remeber bomber who got crushed by Curious in Ro.32) Btw, Mvp suffers carpal tunnel syndrome on both hands, and MMA said his wrist situation is much more serious than every think it would be...He should get a wrist surgey ASAP like Flash did...damn...I'm so worried as a fan of him.
