"I'm feeling very alive right now, waiting for GSL to kick off tomorrow. I will get to see my favourite colours."
i think more information coming soon on fnatic official site.
We're extremely proud to announce not one but two great additions; Han Lee "aLive" Seok and Kim Sung "Hwanni" Hwan.
He may only be 19 years old, but Han Lee "aLive" Seok is already considered to be one of the best Terran players in the world. It's been a long hard road for him over the past month, and we'd like to thank all for helping make it a happy ending. We have agreed a transfer with Coach Lee after much discussion, that will allow aLive to leave TSL and join FnaticRaidCall officially.
Here is what Coach Lee from TSL had to say about the transfer:
TSL's Lee Seok Han (aLive) will be moving to team FnaticRaidCall starting from 2012/2/1. Fnatic and TSL have found a consensus after a long discussion period. Lee Seok Han will be playing Hot6 GSL Code S Round of 16 under Fnatic. TSL's coach Lee has put a lot of effort to Lee Seok and thus feels a bit sorrow on his departure, but he wishes best of luck and better performance of alive at his new team and wishes fnatic to take good care of Lee Seok as well. TSL is currently looking for a high quality Terran or Protoss player and will announce recruitments of him or her in the near future.
Here's what Han Lee "aLive" Seok himself had to say about this news:
I am glad that this issue has been resolved in a peaceful and positive way and I am looking to put this episode behind me. I will try to do my best to do well in my new environment, a proud member of FnaticRaidCall.
From Fnatics side our General Manager, Elroy Pinto, and overseer of Fnatic SC2 said the following:
We are glad to have finally reached an amicable deal with Coach Lee, TSL & aLive. As of today we are proud to have aLive joining our ranks as a member of our StarCraft 2 team. Fnatic strongly believes that for the development of the scene it was in everyones best interest that we paid a transfer fee to Coach Lee.
We respect Coach Lee's dedication and send our apologies to him - we greatly admire his team and his ability. We also respected aLive's decision to resolve this with Coach Lee this is the reason why this took a while.
As for our fans - we thank you for trusting us and believing in our ability to resolve this amicably. Now go watch aLive play in the Hot6 GSL Code S Round 16, and wish him luck!
We decided to not stop there, in our ambitious plans for Korea, Han Lee is not the only one who will be putting on those black and orange colors today, Kim Sung "Hwanni" Hwan will be joining us as Korean General Manager.
Fnatic's CEO and founder, Sam Mathews, had a few words about the new appointment:
We have long had an envious eye on the Korean market, with its expansive team structure, media, and fan base, it is by all accounts the test bed for eSports. In 2012 we made it our mission to make our orange and black mark on Korea. Hwanni joins us at the begining of that endevour, and we're excited to have him! He's well respected and we have known him for many years. He will oversee all our operations in KR. Welcome Hwanni!
As we've mentioned before, we've got huge plans for Fnatic this year, so watch this space.
Hwanni had this to say:
I am very thrilled to join Fnatic. I also would like to thank all the people in Fnatic letting this to happen. Will do my best to make this team great ever. Thank You.
Fnatic would also like to thank Brian Yun Choi (spirit_sentinel) for all his help and for being instrumental in all of fnatics korean endevours to date. Last but not least thank you so much to our executive Starcraft Manager, Elroy Pinto for all his hard work in making all this possible.
We'd like to thank our sponsors, RaidCall, MSI, SteelSeries, EIZO and GUNNAR Optiks for supporting us, as well as thousands of our fans around the globe.

This is the owner of fnatic tweeting, it doesn't get much more confirmed then that.

This. There's been a lot of speculation on this topic already, just wait until things are official at least.

Alive had long left TSL already, that was pretty big drama a few weeks ago.

Posts that contain only one word are frowned upon, like "lol". His post didn't even contain a word. Do the maths.
How come there were no warnings for the following three responses then? "lol wut" "swoop" "woot!"
Sometimes I think they just warn someone for the heck of it. Well however, I hope it's true that they actually signed alive. He deserves a team with better management than TSL.

Jesus, people don't actually read the rules anymore before joining?
It's a video game forum, of course things like flame wars and such are off limits from just general knowledge about forums. But most forums let you at least put a smiley face...
And no, I haven't read the full list of rules because just like most other video game players on this site, I'm here to learn and to have fun, not to troll or be super serious about everything. Things that are obvious reasons for bans are things I'm going to avoid, but there's no way I would know about the smiley faces unless I read the entire rule list in detail

I agree. It was clear since their official statement in response to coach Lee's statement, saying they hadn't made an "official offer." Which, in the business world, means it hadn't been put on paper.

That's why TL is extra clear on telling you that you SHOULD read the whole rules list.
I hope people didn't expect him to go to a team that he was now disliked by, as it would be extremely awkward and a hostile environment. It's important to remember that to TSL, alive was worth the most, and undoubtedly a huge loss. As a result, I'm glad he joined fnatic as opposed to just being teamless. Hopefully, he performs well as there will be a lot of stress on him.

Oh well, let the western teams play around until the big boys come I guess.
SKT, KTF, Samsung? Pretty much not looking like its gonna happen anytime soon.

ye, aLive was the MVP of Team TSL, pretty much like DRG in Team MVP, and Bomber in Startales. So Lee has reason to be angry about this, but as it appears, fnatic is more professional than TSL, so aLive is at a better place now.
Good news for fnatic! I guess it is becoming clear for some foreigner players that their chances of getting into a good team are approaching 0. Why would a team like fnatic, liquid, EG, empire, and so on get a player like, let's say, Sterling, when they can get a Korean player like alive, zenio, violet (or any random grand master korean player)?
LOL at the first 3 posts, pretty expected decision, lets see what fnatic does with their korean commitment, I hope to see them developing their players, they have very good telent on their squad now
On February 01 2012 09:05 SC2NeCro wrote: Fnatic is up there with EG and Liquid in terms of best foreign team now.
well their lineup is much better in terms of quantity to quality ratio.
EG and TL still have plenty of weak players in their lineups, while fnatic kicked pretty much everyone who cant really compete.
Except it was stated that the players they "kicked" didn't want to stay and that is why their contracts were not renewed not because they didn't want them.
wonder if I get a warning for saying that the admins gave the most lame and unneeded warnings to the first 3 posts in this thread?? Really, TL admins need to stop being so troll, warning for no reason, never warning when it's needed

How is posting a link to your reddit post that has the same content of the op not warning worthy?

they both are capable to do all kills anytime of the week.
Im gonan have to disagree with you on that one. EG's top 4 are better then Fnatic's as a whole. (An after looking Fnatic only has 5 players after adding aLive). Theres just so much more talent on EG there is no shot in hell that Fnatic would ever all kill EG an the odds of them winning a team event against them aren't super great but I suppose we'll see.

HuK and IdrA are playing incredibly bad these days, both lost their first round of Code A.
EG would be left with PuMa and JYP, and both of them arent Code S while aLive is, and Moon is expected to "will be".

what about SK.MC?
Less a team and more an individually sponsored player, as far as I'm concerned. That is, until they expand their roster, which they don't have plans on doing, apparently.
So what events outside of Korea will we be able to see aLive? I know it depends on when GSL is on off season or IF he gets knocked out but I am still curious if we will be seeing him often at foreign events.
