A couple of threads popped up this evening, stating that Axslav has joined ReIGN. We don’t really feel like there’s any pressure to respond to these threads, but we won’t deny that these rumors have effectively spoiled the big announcement we had planned for this coming Friday. Sure, we could ignore the threads and proceed as planned, but we’d be kidding ourselves to think our announcement would carry the same excitement that it might have otherwise had.
We have indeed signed Nick Ranish, AKA "Axslav." He moved into the team house this past Friday. He brought us some limes.
As a result of all this, however, we’ve decided to can our original plans. Though Axslav’s announcement was to be our biggest yet (in comparison to how we’ve announced new players in the past) we feel it would be silly to try and enact the tone and fanfare we had originally intended. That said, Axslav’s presence on our team and in the training house is one we are all incredibly happy about. We would still like to pay tribute to that in some way, just not today. For now, we welcome Axslav to Team ReIGN.
Ha, awesome for ReIGN to have a sense of humor about this. Good for both Axslav and ReIGN, I can't wait to see what happens when he and Kiwi start trading secrets and scheming together.
Awesome! Seems like this team is a perfect fit for Axslav too. Team Reign being sort of a dormant beast ready to unleash all kinds of hell just like Axslav . Best of luck and great acquisition!
Yay Axslav!! This seems to be a great fit for both sides... Good luck, and I hope there is a contractual obligation for Axslav to stream a LOT. Please Reign give this guy a fast computer
Really sweet pick-up for ReIGN! Tbh I was surprised when I saw the announcement that EG was parting ways with him, but this just gives ReIGN an opportunity to acquire a fantastic player.

Funny you should mention that. I just offered him an SSD about 45 minutes ago.

Congradulations to Axslav! Big pick up for them and honestly a place where he can be a more important player (which was a problem in EG) and travel more (hopefully).
In any case I hope he keeps streaming a lot because I love watching and listening to him.

Everyone seems to enjoy the picture. The most hilarious part of this post was that they mentioned he brought limes to the team house. lol
Congratulations Axslav! I was so very sad to hear the news about EG and I'm thrilled you were able to find such an excellent team so quickly. Your stream is still my favorite. Good luck.

Agreed LOL. Awesome that Axslav found a nice home so quick after leaving EG. I'm wondering If a major reason for his choice was for the ReIGN team house perhaps? Anyways, congratz!
Lol, way to just come out and be like "yea, this shit happened". Super stoked for Axslav and team reign! Especially because he will still be able to stream alot, and I really think this is a better environment for Axslav. EG has such rock stars on there line up I bet if feels hard for guys like Machine and Axslav to get exposure, especially when EG puts all the money into the guys they can market the most like Idra, HuK, iNcontrol. Axslav will definitely be treated really well with reign and I am super happy for him!
That picture is an insta-meme. Asides from that, good luck to Axslav, may 2012 bring you good runs in tournaments and hopefully a 16 : 9 screen resolution.

goodluck undead firelord!! <3
Is this really necessary in this thread? The reasons EG kept machine and LZ has been discussed so many times, and it really isn't necessary to continue it here.

I honestly thought this would work to, but maybe it is too soon.
That's not how you use the Slowpoke meme. In this situation you would use Kiwikaki or someone else who joined ages ago, the meme is funny because it catches you off guard.
Congrats Nick! You're one of the most dedicated players I've met. It was a pleasure to work with you during your time in EG and I'm confident Frank and co. at Reign will treat you well.
Never heard of Reign, Axslav hasn't been playing so well in sc2 so its not very big news to me. However I wish you wish the best of luck for your future.
Dude Axslav..Not Fair......This is sooo OP!!!!!!!! We need to nerf Axslav and Kiwi now .. The mad scientist and the Calm Professor .. Wow big time Reign fan now!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats to Axslav...Show up some awesome PVP Phoenix builds ..Good luck man...Hope to see a strong 2012 from Ax
EDIT: This should also be highlighted under the community news and headlines, because Axslav does a lot for the community by streaming and commentating all the time on his channel!!!!!!
OK now ReIGN, here's what you do: you buy Axslav a new computer, lock him in the basement and force him to stream 24/7. He can only go out to buy more limes or to participate in every offline tournament in the world.
Is the team house in canada or did kiwikaki decorate the place?
Also, you are now my favorite team. Sorry TL, shoulda tapped dat Ax.
Love that fact that he is still in a team house! i feel that his intangibles are Far greater than any other player because of the way he talks about everything he does where people can understand.
very silly. Every single announcement like this has been spoiled far in advance. What makes you guys and the work that you put into it so worthless in your eyes?

More than likely Reign had recruited Axslav before his contract with EG expired. They probably made him an offer that EG was unwilling or unable to match.
Hopefully Reign will be able to send him to more events than EG was. Also 16 : 9 monitor please!
Congratulations Axslav. I knew you'd find a home and as one of your devoted stream-watchers, I was happy to hear you state on stream that you plan on continuing to pursue pro gaming.

wouldnt put axlav on the same level as inori or kiwi
reign really needed a presonality on their team they always had great players and axlav is like the incontrol of reign-kinda good but just not on the same level imo
OMG YES! Congrats Axslav on getting on a great team. Now I want to see some PvP matches with him against KiWiKaKi! Hopefully this team will get him to more events than EG did.
Sexy pickup by Reign. I'm a huge fan of Axslav and support him wherever he goes ^^. I think he'll really jive with Kiwi and Slush if he can work with them
Congratulations to Axslav, I always thought he had good potential but for some reason just couldn't break through with EG. And, apparently, EG wasn't willing to stick with him long enough for him to have a shot. Reign has many talented players and Axslav should have a nice chance to continue to improve with them.
Axslav's stream is definitely my favorite protoss stream. His commentary is really good and he interacts with viewers a lot. Really talented player and it was a good pick up. Still can't believe EG let him go, their loss.
...we won’t deny that these rumors have effectively spoiled the big announcement we had planned for this coming Friday.
As a result of all this, however, we’ve decided to can our original plans. Though Axslav’s announcement was to be our biggest yet (in comparison to how we’ve announced new players in the past) we feel it would be silly to try and enact the tone and fanfare we had originally intended.
Way to be bitter and repeatedly pound that sentiment home. Why tell your fans they should be ashamed of themselves for ruining all of your fun? I can safely say you've killed any excitement for the whole thing I would have had.

How anyone can get this tone from those two quotes is beyond me.

Look a bit closer. If you take all the capital letters alone it spells FAT. Basically, ReIGN is calling all their fans fat. Completely unprofessional on their part.

My god... there are 69 words in the 2 quotes. We are fall fat sexual deviants apparently! This is an outrage!

Well they pretty much have our number on that one... I mean even your post count is 69 for god's sake.

With that out of the way - congrats to Axslav, I'm not an uberfan of his but I can always appreciate that its a great thing for him to find a new team straight away. Hopefully this means he can step out of the shadow of a few players too, seeing as EG has always had a feel for really big names. Obviously ReiGN aren't small fry and have a reall strong team too, but being the new guy will obviously mean he'll be getting a little more attention at least for a while.
The surprise would have worked wonderfully for me on Friday. I was unaware prior to reading this. It's unfortunate you had to apply such a negative tone to what exists in every sort of entertainment: rumors and leaks. Yeah, it means your big reveal will be a less surprising event, but it would still be the official and exciting statement that many did not yet know about, and others had heard about, but only now would be completely reassured of through official confirmation.
I, for one, would have preferred the surprise to this (at least, what I thought was a) depressing version of what you might have had planned.
Congrats to both Reign and Axslav, all the same. Best wishes to the Nick and his new team.
GOGOGOG Axslav, another stellar toss on the ReIGN! Can't wait to see him rip up some tournaments. I still with Future would head to the house though. With a dedicated environment I could see Future becoming one of the best progamers around.
nice i was actually really hoping to see reign pick up axslav i like him quite abit. Also hope reign is still in the market for players no need to pick any one up real soon. I don't think but i'd just like to know that they weren't maxxed out on players or anything
I actually got used to him as being in EG...but changes are part of growing businesses. Best of luck on REIGN. Hope to see more of u in future tournaments!

Meh. I think that EG did a good job getting rid of him, I think that his focus has been off the game for a while. I might be wrong, but, I am hoping some actual success from him.
Axslav is going to be one of the best foreign Protoss players out there soon. His stream is extremely informative and his game sense is insane. Pretty bad loss for EG, but what a hell of a pickup for Reign.
