Then LZ gamer and Machine are next on the chopping block.

demuslim wont be going anywhere anytime soon, he has done decent at mlgs and at European events.

Yeah, but he's had some inconsistency. Stuff like how he was supposed to go to Korea but it fell apart. Obviously he's really good, but EG seems to care more about how good a player is currently rather than their potential. Axslav was getting pretty good, but they still let him go.

They have Incontrol and LZGamer who aren't kept around because they can win tournaments, and then in terms of Starcraft ability Machine is one of the better foreigners (imo) but he's now the weakest pure player on EG. They're not really trying to build talent, just buy it. It's a little disappointing to see long standing players leave is all.

That said, I'll still be rooting for EG.

Not that I think EG is going to remove Demuslim, I think its exhausting to root for the guy too. Hes incredibly inconsistent with attending events and always seems to have a reason preventing him from going.

Hes like a sports athlete with a lot of talent but is always physically injured leaving them unable to actually play.

Some things just happen, maybe DeMuslim is meant to be the unluckiest man in esports? They definitely won't let him go when he has confirmed he is going to Korea very soon, his contract should've run out at the same time as Axslav and Strifecro's and he has probably been the player to benefit most from the EG house.

I feel bad for the players, but business is business. Its unfortunate though because I just started watching Axslav, and he seemed like a very well rounded player.
Good luck to all parties though.

EG is in a position where they have the money to purchase Code S/A level players. I imagine both their salaries will go towards the budget for either the current lineup or into the Korean transfer market.

Yep. Seen as Korean's currently earn no salary from their teams you can pick up a Code S Korean for the cost of the mid level foreigner. Which is an insane difference in value for money unless the foreigner is someone like Catz, Destiny or Incontrol who have the personality and stream to make up for a lack of ROI on results.

Unfortunate but best of luck to Axslav and Strifeco, I hope they'll get picked up by another team and keep practising.

Well this's just a matter of time. These 2 aren't on the level of what they expected.

You probably should have left that part out as well. Definitely not a good idea to compare the two situations since people are already labelling you as a "blind fanboy."

Well he kind of is.

EG is the one of the best if not the best foreign team. TSL is one of the worst Korean teams and they're dropping players everywhere.

The last GSTL begs to differ. Just saying.

Yeah cause any of those players are still IN TSL...

Sad to see Axslav & Strifecro go, I never thought EG would actually kick them, they've been on the team for so long without results already.

This type of stuff drives me incredibly insane. People moan and whine about wanting e-sports to be a legitimate venture in the western world, but then get mad when they behave how EVERY legitimate sport works. If you're familiar with the colts it would take two seconds to realize that what has arguably one of the 3 best teams in the nfl in the past decade fired their headcoach and multiple other people over 1 horrendous season. If people don't perform there's no reason to have them on a paid roster it's a waste of an investment, e-sports won't survive as something that's there just to support people with no real results. You could certainly ask why people like lz stayed and axslav got booted but it would just be guessing, sadly at this point in time the only people that EG has that are really considered good are their now top 4. even demuslim isn't that good in terms of pro results these days. of course this is completely negating how winning isn't the only thing but i'm not sure why lz is still on the team i feel like his results are comparable to those of the other 2 with just about the same following.

Was it Alive that did the majority of the damage last season? Hopefully Hyun can step up this season and show some nice games.

Just the timing of contracts most likely.

GL to both those guys, being a competitor in this game is tough, there are a lot of really great players on the international level and very little exposure for if you're not on that level. I hope they land somewhere good.

Popular streamer, regular qualifies and participates in major tournaments and has a decent fanbase. That's all solid ROI for EG. ESports is all about marketing, winning is not everything.

Well I dunno what I feel about this really. I mean Axslav has shown some real improvement last couple of months and the game is still only 1 year old. Strife I dunno I don't keep track of him at all. However they MUST be keeping LZgamer for some reason we don't know about. There is NO reason at all to keep him as a pure player he hasn't done anything since the game launched.

Also I don't know like, they should be fostering the NA scene I think being one of the big boys on the other side of the pond.

This is my "rank" atm;

LZ; Stays for unknown reasons.

Machine; Has been there since the beginning? Has a decent fanbase

PuMa/IdrA/HuK/JYP; Korea, very good top notch players obviously not going anywhere.

INcontroL; Community profile. Brings in A LOT of fans just like IdrA. Good PR.

DeMusliM; He has a "inner beast mode" and we all know it. I just wish he would go to Korea soon so he can tap into that source of beastly play.

EG will continue to sign more and more Code A/S level players. And then they probably keep there B-Team as I see it (DeMuslim,Incontrol,Machine, etc.) in the Arizona house, while the A-Team players live with SlayerS. This is just the way the scene is going.

sucks for them, but its understandable, their niche was 2v2, but they didnt really show that impressive results in the sc2 2v2. their 1v1 was also not on par with the rest of the team.
