Even the very best SC2 players can choose to pretty much forego being on a pro team. If they don't have a strong team scene I just don't know where the salaries are going to come from for most players
I'll coin them international investors. This is what happens when you don't have an association that monitors and advocates policy. It's open warfare.
I wonder what KeSPA would say. ;D

Which isn't even taking into account how insanely popular he is with the foreign legion of fans. As this is his job, it should be well within reason to make changes that he sees fit in accordance with the greater opportunities for generating more income and more fans.
The only issue I see here is the lack of constant access to such high-level practice partners on oGs. Oh well, more personal time, right?
I agree with this - I expect the NA/EU SC2 scene to eclipse the KR scene this year in terms of both prize money and viewership. I wouldn't be surprised to see foreign teams begin to inherit more top tier players. On the other hand I feel that almost all the KR teams are fully embracing foreign tournaments, we can even tune into the stream tournaments like IGN Pro League and see the top KR players in team leagues or show matches...

With all thats has transpired recently (FXOBoss' post and GSTL annoucement about potentially adding in other teams) this seems to be the likely case.
Oh my gawwwwd, MC together with some A-team BW players in SC2 would be fucking amazing.
I can dream...

I guess he is sick of living in a team house and wants more privacy. And although he's rich, he needs a steady income to pay for rent and expenses. I am sad but this is the way to do it. Korean teams will never afford to house/salary a player until some major korean sponsors step in. They will only be seen as breeding grounds, even the most loyal founding members will leave for $$$'er pastures.

Pretty obvious there's a large sum of money involved! Nice for MC!
MC Plan to domination: - Become a SC2 Pro - Get well known, funny on stage etc - Get a big team to pick you up for your awesome marketing capability and skill (earn loads of money) - Become president of Korea and get all the girls.

I do not like this in the slightest, shame because i do like MC. Proof? A player on a well regarded team suddenly decides to leave it and move out of the team house to shoulder living expenses on his own and most likely compete in more foreign events. Pretty sure that means he's getting more money, if only in travel expenses.
Does it matter?
Life is more than SC2. This guy will have no job in about 10 years. Better earn LOTS now, so he has at least some savings.

The move out of the oGs house and into a house on his own is a weird one for me, I'm guessing he didn't iron out builds with his teammates, because if he did he's losing a huge practice benefit. Regardless best of luck to MC, the Kratoss protoss. Mvp and Nestea don't live in the IM house and it hasn't hurt them. If you're dedicated to practicing you'll have no trouble with practice partners I guess. They probably live somewhere else but comes to the training house to practice if I'm not mistaken.
Nestea is married so it's real unlikely he is going to the IM house 10 hours a day, 6 days a week. Perhaps his wife isn't too bothered what with the $200,000 he earnt last year but it's unlikely.

Absolutely shocking. All the best to MC!

Hell, even HuK tweets: LorangerChris Chris Loranger finally gets announced ,,,, @TeamLiquidnet This suggest it has been prepared for some time already. The fact that it was not publicly known doesn't make it a "sudden" move.
Then he has finally switched teams after months of negotiating for more money.
not slandering the guy, just stating that i don't think it's a good idea.

ehm what?
no statement by TheWind?

They certainly know how to milk non-issues.
TL is pretty good at making announcements too, but they don't drag it out.
