After 7 month we're proud to annonce two of our players moving to korea, to train in order to compete for GSL code A qualifiers!
Naama and DeathAngel will arrive the 11th of january in Seoul and will train to proS house.
Santeri "Naama" Lahtinen
I'm excited to go to South-Korea! I will never thank eSahara enough for giving me such an opportunity! My aim is to reach my highest level and to offer very good results, watch out Koreans, the "SCV Train" is coming!
I'm really happy to train in a Korean Pro house, in addition of participating to the GSL. Thank you so much eSahara for giving me such an opportunity! I hope I will be able to represent my structure in the best way in The Land of the Morning Calm.
Valentin "RetoX" Berrouka
We are glad to send two of our players in korea. They will be able to meet Check and cArn, train with them and do their best to reach the Code A, and then the Code S. It's very important to us to have those players in korea, where they will be able to train better than anywhere else. Naama's fan, don't worry, he will SCV cheese al koreans their Our players will stream a lot from Korea, so keep an eye on them! I want to thanks Dopani (ProS owner) TeSt, Deathnote, derpScreamo and SkyG (our SC2 managers/coach/war arrangers) and all eSahara contributors and fans! 2012 will be our year!

Absolutely, but just wait and there will be some elitist whining/mocking them because its lesser known players going to Korea instead of superstars like Idra and Thorzain.

Wow, awesome that u can give ur players the opportunity. But I personally don't think that they will achieve anything notable there. I have seen them play a lot lately and I _personally_ think they are just mediocre EU players.

Mediocre? You gotta be kidding me. Those guys are really amazing players, if there are 2 players I wouldn't wanna run into on ladder it would be Naama and Deathangel. Naama doing pretty well in online tournaments recently and doing quite well at DH winter. Deathangel having one of the most feared PvZ's. I hope they do really well and manage to qualify for code A.

Because they already have people training in Korea on their team and Naama has been beasting lately, not sure if you've been following recent tournaments but he's coming back strong, if his mechanics shape up a bit in Korea he will drastically improve his play overall. GL guys!
How awesome would it be if Naama goes to Korea by transsiberian express? Train from Helsinki to Moscow, Moscow to Beijing and then by boat to Korea? Can someone get some youtube money together to film this trip. Naama's Train is coming! :D Great news btw, Naama is sickly talented, can't wait to see him reach his fullest potential. Deathangel is a great player as well, nobody knows what a Romanian player is capeable off once you put him in Korea for a while. I'm excited!

Mediocre in case of grandmaster thinking. But as I said, it's a personal opinion and noone has to share it. We will see how they will do and I wish them best of luck. It's still awesome to see more Europeans compete internationally.
what does everyone mean when they are talking about the scv train? does he just cheese all the time lol? If so, that's a pretty similar style to a lot of koreans lol.

Naama will certainly be in his element in the KR ladder. Hope it really helps him learn more ridiculous builds and pick up the insane Korean refinement and control. :D :D
Anyone remember the Naama vs MaNa dreamhack finals? Certainly SC2 has come along ways since then however at that time I truly believe that was the best SC2 series, or at least the best final series. That's also when I stopped looking at Day9 as just a commentator and instead "the guy" for SC2. He fuckin' killed it casting that series.
Naama will 2 base allin with scv's every korean, after 3 games they will figure out his cheese abusive style and he will fade away just like bitbybit who played same style.
On January 04 2012 01:42 lastshadow wrote: they have no idea what they're getting into, and i'm not talking about coming to korea for code a.
So true, they are most likely only doing it because you are "suposed" to go to Korea and magically become good.
+ Naama is a bit too cheesy for my kind. I've seen ~10 games with him and all the games I've seen have involved a cheesy strategy preformed by Naama....
nonetheless, GL in Korea!
(I have no idea who DeathAngel is)
(Apperantly I missunderstood what they were saying but I still feel like they have no idea what they are getting themself into)

he won dreamhack a year ago ... hes the european version of fruitdealer
Why is everyone jumping on LS and NaNiwa for what they said? I'm pretty sure now that I remember that LS used to live in ProS house, and cArn's comment : "and now I know too..." who is right now living in the ProS house, that they talk about the living conditions, they are not being arrogant looking down at these two players. Hopefully this concern is not too much of a deal, good luck to both of them, it's awesome to have more foreigners in korea :D
Good luck, there can't be enought foreigners in SK!
Even tho i think it's going to be really hard, i think every "pro" should try it to see if they can do something or improve a bit a see why the other are better (better and more practice and dedication)

With the exception that this guy has some recent top performances.

Good. The more pros that go to Korea, the better. The European ladder is quickly becoming really split as the game progresses and the pros get further and further ahead of the semi-pros. Watching Whitera's stream, he wins a huge majority of his games, and he's not even what I would consider a top player. Very close to top, but not quite like Stephano etc. The Korean ladder, on the other hand, is really competitive, as Stephano and others have said. I wish the foreign ladders could keep up, but they can't. Great ladder + great players living with you + better practice partners = better player.
Well thorzain has trained in korea and Naama completely thrashed him in full lenght macro games at dhw 2011 so I don't know why some of these kids are trying to bash naama. If he just trains a lot he can be the best foreign terran EZ.
Teamliquid is a known dictatorship anyways, it's European based.
I've seen deathangel pop up when other pros were streaming, and he seems pretty solid and can hold his own. Nobody expects results right away, but I think these 2 players are a good start.
Also Naniwa's results aren't that impressive for being in Korea for x months, I don't understand how he can justify taunting other players in their respective threads.

Yah, Players and Famous members of the community are given more leverage when it comes to bans/warnings on TL
Naniwa's just flat out being a douche though.
That's half of idra's post here on tl and he's still not perma banned. Known players/posters get away with stuff, deal with it. I think it's even more or less in the forum rules if I remember correctly.

What do you mean European based? And what has that got to do with a dictatorship? You fail at logic.
Also how exactly can you judge Naniwa's results when he barely competed in tournaments since his move to Korea? A fallacy again.

One of the best series of all times in the game in my opinion. Coincidentally I rewatched Game 3 on Xel'Naga last night, such an amazing game. I miss Kaydarin haha.

His record in GSL is actually 1-12 GSL, GSTL, Arena of Legends, Blizzard Cup together. It's okay to judge those results.
Isn't the ProS house like a tiny appartment with 20 sweaty koreans sitting in your lap because it's so tight? Oh and you are like 4 people per bunk bed or something. Hopefully they have a maid. ^^
Congrats! But beware of the culture shock, I really hope that you guys can adapt well as Idra/Jinro/Huk did. Many people have come to Korea before in BW days but fail to adapt. Learn the language, learn to love the food, the respect and then practice your ass off.

You guys make it sound like his record in GSL is all there is to it. What about MLG? What about other events? He destroyed everyone in the MLG world championship, including who we all thought were the best 2 players in the world, back to back. You don't have to think he's the world's best player, but stop acting like his GSL record is indicative of his skill. You're just taking cheap shots at someone who competes in a game that you follow. Yes! I haven't heard much of either of these players, but I always love hearing an opportunity for young, fresh faces to entering the competitive scene. Underdog stories rule - nothing like watching Leenock, a player that few have heard of (despite his being in Code S in Korea), come in and trash everyone at MLG to win the championships as well as reach the finals at Code S.
Kudos to eSahara - getting a player to Korea to train is costly business for one player, much less for two. I'm glad for establishments like them, giving fresh faces a chance at glory!
Good luck Naama! Let the train hit in time! And to all these stupid people who are saying that naniwas lool is bm or so...do you know why he wrote it? pls give us the tl community back from a year ago...it was way smaller but way better. its like going on readmore.de...I have the feeling all the idiots are moving to tl.net...
Who cares if they're not "THE BEST"? The have an opportunity to train in Korea, and I'm sure there are plenty of "better" people who want to go to Korea, but can't for various reasons. Personally I'm just happy to see more foreigners in Korea, no matter their skill level.

*I'm not counting the proberush-game.
Why not count the proberush game? He clearly dodged NesTea there. Selfish act, what I think made him proberush was mainly to keep his pride in being 2-1 vs NesTea overall and not get tied to 2-2. Keep the being "the one who brought down the best", while in fact it was one day at MLG with unfair conditions..1 person who have been playing the whole day, 1 person who have been rolling his thumbs the whole day. Like dont get me wrong, but if he actually didnt care about the game vs NesTea at Blizzard Cup he would've done a simpel ladder game or a stupid 4 gate. He dodged. I hope he reads this.

Sorry, 1-12 is absolutely NOT indicative of how he matches up against the best players in the best tournament in the world. He's a good player.
Yea, Naniwa would never stand a chance against a real top player like NesTea or MVP IMO TBH.
That's why he's beaten them both in tournament play? :S Naniwa is 1-1 in matches against MVP (lost against him at blizzcon and won against him a MLG Global INV) He's 2-1* in matches against Nestea (beat him at MLG Raleigh and MLG Global INV, lost to him at Blizzcon)

get off the case, the naniwa bashing isn't justified anymore, his post was misinterpreted.

Naama and Deathangel are top EU players with good online and offline results in sc2.
Even though I'm a bit clueless as to who Naama and DeathAngel are....
WHO CARES?!!??
Any foreigner(s) that go to Korea automatically should get everyone's respect. It's going to be tough for them and very hard to get used to but BEST OF LUCK!!!

Top EU players? Naama, yes. Deathangel, no. Deathangel is semitop/online warrrior, i can probably name at least 30 playes from eu who are better than him.

What do you mean? The practice schedule ?
I think he's talking about the ProS house to be honest...
If they find out the ProS is bad after living there, they can just move to the Gom house.
the gom house is (more than) full.
How is it more than full? The fxo team stayed there at one point and there has to be less people there now compared to then. Plus Doa and Wolf have recently left the house.

Watch Desrows latest vlog (or maybe the one before the one that was the latest one). He said theres only one place left for players and that place is reserved for major(NoNge/Windy). The people that have confirmed stay at the gomhouse right now are Major, Desrow, Tod, Cytoplasm, Lastshadow, slog, that australian quantic guy, moletrap, wolf, khaldor (When they get back from their vacations).

Hmm didn't know major was going to be staying there when he got back. I still figured there was at least room for 10 and right now that list has 8 because Doa isn't coming back since he works for IGN now.

Oh slog still lives there? Figured he'd be at the fxo house being in fxo and all. Plus wolf isn't coming back. Those stories about it being "the caster" house as naniwa and others have put it appear to be true and even wolf got sick of it and moved into his own apartment.

Yeah, i think he moves between the two of them or something. But lately he's been staying there (according to both Lastshadow and desrow vlogs)
Yea lets all bash naniwa, i mean anyone can beat world class players like mvp and nestea back to back in front of thousands of people using standard play right?

And he can lose 0-2 to Lucky. He needs to be more contant, maybe he has trouble playing in korea and should come back to EU, now that he's a real top top player.

i dont want to be a dick here but we have so many good players not making it into code A even. I am not sure what esahara wants to achieve with this move but good luck to the players anyway. Try hard

they can go for improvement. Naama can train with bitbybit and pull scvs (jkjk no offence Naama) they can also have a larger influence in Korea and maybe pick up more koreans. GL guys :D
i guess satiini hasnt got over his aerophobia yet? very sad as he pulled out of dreamhack aswell after qaulifying online. the most talented player on esahara imo.
good luck to naama <3 and DA too esahara fighting!!
it is always nice to have such a chance to train in KR.they should find a training room with top class korea players. maybe with team prime(former checkprime is now in esahara!). wish them do well and get a CODE A slot. with to see all-in NAAMA VS all-in FXOthebest.
I think that Naama is a player with a huge potential of becoming on of the best europeans. He was simply not able to train that much and being a full time player but I hope this changes now and he gets the training he needs to rape everyone afterwards. Best of luck to both of them.
Well considering Naniwa straight up said he was referring to the living conditions, I think you guys can chill with the flaming, apparantly losing to lucky is embarassing? IPL3 must have been full of trash players I guess...
Regardless awesome news! gl to them, Naama has had some impressive results lately!
Good for them, kr always was at another level, and this will most likely improove their game. DeathAngel is one of my favourites anyway and i really hope he starts streaming again with commentary Also i like Naama's allins, as i do shit like that all the time Gl and hf there guys!
naniwa is hands down the best foreign protoss atm(and arguably the best foreigner along with sen) but hes the type of player that by nature likes to talk shit/insult other players because he has a huge ego, u should accept his comments the same way u accept idra's comments without flaming him because id rather see him act like himself rather than seeing him put on a bullshit front just to please u guys

holy shit! this is awesome! im not a fan of terran players, but naama (along with mana) is the reason i got into sc2 as much as i have watching their finals at iem? (i think?) or w/e it was was unbelivable

I am a bit disappointed that a simple english check is not done when writing an 'official' news statement
this is nice news of course and I'm not trying to troll, but if people want to portrait themselves as a professional team, please come up with clean english.
naniwa, you come on a mostly congratulation thread to post some trash*looooooll * whitout even caring to elaborate more on the nature of the comment (only 5 page later and barely at that ).Sorry but i dont see why people wouldnt bash you.It was basicly a free cheap shot so people are giving ti back to ya. What goes around comes around. though you learned that in the alst month.Anyway grats to naama and deathangel and GL !
I really think they deserve this oppurtunity that they are given, especially Deathangel. I guess their aint more to say then good luck over there. Hopefully you will both get some quality training done and awaken the beast inside of you!
Well naama improved really fast in wc3 later on since he didnt played when game was in prime but that guy have some serious talent. Dont know for DeathAngel
Naama's plane ticket was written for "Santeri Naama Lahtinen", where "Naama Lahtinen" was entered as his last name. This is wrong since his real name is Santeri Lahtinen, and therefor the officers at the airport didnt let him in the plane. They tend to be strict about these kinda things in Finland and i guess it's the same thing elsewhere.

Man thats just stupid. Oh well, I hope he gets another chance at a later point.
And that obviously doesn't mean that the Korea trip is completely cancelled but rather just delayed by a week or up to after Assembly Winter according to the article.
Damn, a plane ticket from Finland to Korea must be pretty expensive, and i guess he won't get a refund. Well, at least, it seems the owner of e-sahara is pretty rich as he works in the oil business.
That's pretty funny in a herp derp way. However, why won't he get a refund? He never flew, so should be entitled to some kind of refund. Maybe not full, like pay a penalty fee for taking up a seat that couldn't be sold to someone else, but to not give any kind of refund for such an expensive ticket seems wrong. Then again, I don't fly much so don't know the standards of airplane ticket refunds.

Expecting some big things from Naama. He has the talent and the mechanics, with some proper Korean training he will go far!
Not sure what to expect from DeathAngel tho. He never was good enough to beat the top Europeans consistently.. let's see what Korean training will do for him.
They're not 14-16, they just look that way, most of them are 17~20, and after talking with the ProS coach it seems a lot has changed with the house (hopefully for the better) and such, your best bet for "friends" with any of them (aka that can speak/try to speak english) is ByungKwan and Hanbin, alongside the coach of course.

I'm not sure if i should be asking for this, but i'm still interested in that what was it that made the ProS house so horrible before that a lot of pros felt the need to announce it in subtle ways in this thread?
That's not new at all, almost every member you see in that video except for maybe 4 are gone, and it's for a myriad of reasons that I briefly touched on before.
