Just because you can't make a statement doesn't mean the rest of us can't. What kind of stupid attitude is that? I'm not watching GSL until Naniwa is back in Code S. That's it. I'm not budging. I haven't seen the rest of the Blizzard cup and I don't intend to.

(don't know if idra was informed a week ago, just going by what Learion said) Scoots said it on LO3.

Basically, they're saying "Naniwa isn't a professional gamer because he probe-rushed. So, instead of punishing him, we're going to out-right make up bullshit that way we don't have to punish him. Either way, they haven't done anything to justify the "meaningless game". All they've managed to do was piss more people off.

Yeah, what this means to me is that if I see some matchup late in a round-robin round, I can stay up all night to watch that match and have confidence that the players will play out the match. Actually, I already had this faith before, but I guess it was misplaced.

Which I do like in a way. It's speculation either way, but in general KeSPA doesn't care about anything you do in game with your units. They just run the sandbox. But the structure of teams and sponsors (and good formats) makes every game incentivized (which is not to say they weren't susceptible to being outbid by other incentives, like throwing games) so you always have something to play for. Not only wouldn't they do anything to Naniwa, they wouldn't even need to because he would never have been in this position to begin with. GOMTV now has the respect of someone who calls an adult professional gamer "kid," doesn't capitalize any sentences in his posts, and disrespects everyone from the opposite view by accusing them of lying to themselves?

You can't blame Gom for a shitty translation made by a completly unrelated 3rd party. Yes maybe they should have released it in English at the same time, but considering that English isn't their native language some time to write a proper press release is only to be expected. Often you have statements on live TV and the press release comes a few hours (sometimes days) later.

Which I do like in a way. Yeah, I find it hilarious that anybody would want to hand the contract to KeSPA over Gom. KeSPA would already have banned Idra for not GGing at the end of a game (I seem to recall that players had to do that in their conduct rules).

You are wrong. Not purchasing the premium service is the only way you can show your disappointment to GOMTV. I have been a premium user since Season 1 and got every single season. Today I sent them a letter and posted on the forums to express my deep disappointment in their behavior and I will therefore stop buying premium services from now on. Am I the only one? Nope. Are we the majority ? Probably not. But that is the power the consumer has, boycotting products from a company you do not like anymore. I will check GSL results on TL and will instead fully support MLG with their premium service (they have been doing really well lately I think it's time I support them). There's a fuckload of Starcraft II to watch.

I already charged back my purchase. Does that still qualify as "lying to myself"?

Scoots said on Lo3 that they knew that Idra would get his spot a week ago since someone dropped out, yet Naniwa and his management didn't get informed of this let alone informed about him not actually having the spot yet? :/ what you both seem to missunderstand (or have forgotten) is when Idra earned the seed in Question which was at the MLG before Providence. Remember his run through Boxer, Bomber, Hungon? That tournament is when Idra got his spot. As has happened with some of these other invites he delayed his participation by one "season" of code S because he had other commitments to finish first. Considering that it is pretty logical why EG was already communicating with Gom before this entire mess happened. At the start Idra said he would accept Code A for the season after his flight to Korea (which was last week? maybe two weeks ago) then Gom changed their format to different seeds, and probably informed EG at some point after that. I am not 100% sure, but i believe the format change announcement was before Providence had even been played.

His spot has nothing to do with Naniwa.
