Was there drama involved? Did Quantic not pay their bills? Was Nestea disappointed in the quality of the Quantic team? What does this mean for future deals between Korea and Foreign teams? Will Destiny and SaSe still stay with Quantic after this huge disappointment?

We need some hard hitting journalism here. Where is it?

If you payed any attention to the calendar as of late you would have noticed that the owner of quantic was on @#$% Slasher talking about all the details. That was your coverage.

Sorry, but please don't think that just because it airs in an alright time for the states that everybody is able to watch it.

edit: so is there anywhere, where I can reread what was said in the show?

http://tv.majorleaguegaming.com/videos/80030-slasher-12-2-11-quantic-im-split-interview

there is the full interview.

I think the most revealing comment is SaSe's, he really thinks highly of the Quantic organisation, going as far as to call it the best team he has ever been on, and this is coming from a guy who has been in esports as a player for a long time with a lot of very prestigious organisations like MYM and SK. I think Quantic are legit and the partnership fell apart because IM were not too keen on being more public with their players, be for shows, replay packs and streams. Have we ever seen an IM player stream?

What was answered in the clip:

1. QxC shipped Nestea and MVP to Providence, they had a bad experience there and freaked out causing the IM/QxC venture to implode.
2. QxC doesn't dare burn any bridges, so they took it up the ass. Contract or no contract.
3. SaSe is their great white hope, and everything else is marketing.
4. Destiny and SaSe are under contract so they can't say anything.
5. Destiny is going on vacation to Korea because his babymomma is taking the kid for 3 weeks.
6. SaSe is like Naniwa, a crazy viking who will do anything to live in Korea and win.

What actual news reporting by TL should have answered:
1. IM is cash strapped, they need western dollars to keep their aces happy. Are they taking a risk cutting off money like this?
2. Does the Korean teams have the western teams by the balls? Can Slayers raise their price on EG if they feel like it?
3. Does the Korean team have an understanding of what marketing their talent to the west is worth, or are they just in this to make fast cash?
4. How does the Korean pros look at the prospects of joining western teams?
5. Will QxC survive this hit.

Well, according to lastshadow, Koreans don't think that highly of 4., because they believe that people persuing 4. are more in for the money than for the game itself.
And of course will QxG survive this, sc2 isn't even their main focus. I think they have some incredibly successful fps teams under their contract.

SlayerS/EG is purely a practice partnership, they're not sending MMA to MLG for example. A better example would be coLMVP

I don't know what's up with most of the Koreans, but they seem to have incredible difficulties in dealing with the western world. I'd like to know what that "bad experience" was.
Weren't they treated like celebrities and didn't get their extra wishes?
Since NASL I'm really wary about them when something happens.

This was pretty predictable. Quantic are virtually unknown, SaSe is an incredible player but he's their only one at top level

What a lot of people don't understand is, IM was an independent team for the longest time, one of the only original SCII teams in Korea without a sponsor. It's clear their goal as a team is not to make money, but rather, just produce great players that win tournaments(Artosis commented on this before during a cast in GSL). People often mistake them for a team that is very private and very secretive, but they are really not. They are just a group of players who have a lot of passion for the sport and aren't going out of their way to capitalize off of it, in turn, they don't need as much exposure as other teams who are backed by big sponsors.

I wouldn`t read or base too much off of it since you are only hearing one side of the story. Obviously getting the other side of the story is difficult because of accessibility and language barrier. (regarding the IM thing)

They were jet lagged pretty bad and I'm sure the Open Bracket-style of grinding games all day doesn't play into their experience very well.

Also, from what I've heard (latest SOTG supports this) the player treatment at MLG isn't nearly as good as it could be and because of the hectic experience of MLG weekends it's very hard for players to feel comfortable. When players are delayed starting games (look @ Nestea + Blizzcon) and stuff like that it throws off their mindset and their rhythm.

I call major BS on that. Everyone wants to make money, they're just not good at it. If they could get sponsors to cash out money for them there's no reason for them not to take the deal. Once again, that's why they joined up with Quantic.

So I think this mean we won't be seeing much of Nestea and MVP in foreign events next year. That's my guess at least.

So... Why did they join up with Quantic? Where are they expecting to get food from? Are they all hitting the streets to beg borrow and steal when one of them don't win the GSL?
I call major BS on that. Everyone wants to make money, they're just not good at it. If they could get sponsors to cash out money for them there's no reason for them not to take the deal. Once again, that's why they joined up with Quantic.

Uhh they are sponsored by coca cola...

Free coke? :D
On a more serious note, good luck to both parties.

Wow even Kim Kardashian's marriage lasted longer than Quantic-IM.

man that got me laughing :D.

Back on topic, it's such a shame to see such a potentially great partership ended so early. I am also interested in what happened that could have caused this.

I just had to say that it's amazing the amount of people that replied to the Kim Kardashian reference. No wonder why reddit is pretty much full of SC2 paparazi
Playoffs? You're talking about playoffs?

Can we get some Team Liquid independent news coverage on this news? This is just a fluff piece, from the parties involved.

SlayerS/EG is purely a practice partnership, they're not sending MMA to MLG for example. A better example would be coLMVP

coLMVP is now pretty much the only partnership of this type left right now that I can think of. This shit isn't easy I suppose, or perhaps QxG just underestimated how much of a commitment it is to actually work out an international team partnership like this, on top of an international team. It sort of happened in rapid succession for them.
