"Handicapping is a way of making a sports contest more even and thus more interesting as a betting object. In E-Sports betting, this is done by awarding one of the teams/players, the underdog, some maps/rounds ahead For example: -----------------Handicap------- Odds Player A___ -1.5_______ 2.00 Player B___ +1.5_______ 1.85 If Player A wins the match by two maps or more, Player A bettors win and Player B bettors lose. If Player A wins by exactly one map or Player B wins, Player B bettors win and PlayerA bettors lose." Does this mean that if i bet on Player A, and he wins 2-1, i lose the bet? This seems a bit strange, especially because it will be easier to determine a winner (in this case) if more maps are played. E.g if it's a Bo7 it would be a much higher probability for Player A to win by at least 2 games (if he is a better player), than if it's a Bo3. Am i reading this correctly? | ||

Yes you lose,you can bet on moneyline which will be lower odds but your player can win 2-1 and you still win the bet. If its bo7 line probably wont be 1.5 but more like 2.5. | ||

So does this mean that if a player has higher odds (xMoney), he is considered the underdog? And how exactly does the "line" work? Why is it 1.5 and not 1.0 if the difference is 1 map won/lost? EDIT: Oh i think i get it. The "Money Line" bet is simply for game series win/lose. And if you bet for the handicapped odds and the overdog has -1.5, it means the has to win by atleast 1.5 games = 2. Correct? | ||
