You have to consider the cyber bullying aspect of esports. Since the internet is the medium, and all fans can give their opinions anonymously, they at times are very harsh and uncivilized. Public females are subject to all sorts of chauvinism and objectification on the internet. In the case of esports, Lindsey from NASL is the prime example. Even in this thread, I would say a good 25% of the comments mention her appearance. A good portion of those are saying they are only glad she has been signed because she is hot (see the post above this one). Imagine what these comments would be if an unattractive female was signed by a high-profile team. Progamers with sudden fame aren't exactly the types to be used to publicity and prepared to handle the criticism. And more than one progamer has admitted to reading all the comments about them on the forums that they can find.

And more than one progamer has admitted to reading all the comments about them on the forums that they can find. It's a damn shame that the internet is like this. It completely sucks to be a woman on the internet a lot of the time. In the case of being a woman progamer specifically, people react in a variety of ways; they get outraged and assume that the woman was only signed BECAUSE she was a a woman, they comment on their appearance, or they make some other sort of rude comment about them. They're assumed to be bad players, only signed as publicity stunts, and they are completely and totally objectified. Only when they prove themselves to be really good players does this tsunami of sexism even begin to subside. If they can see past all of this, and only care about the positive things that people say, or use the sexism as motivation for them to improve, then they can be progamers. But getting into it is a scary thing.

The only reason most asians would avoid meat is if they couldn't afford it. Vegetarians make up a small minority of Westerners. Most Westerners consume large amounts of animal products. You do know that Asians eat far less meat than white people out of habit right? East Asian cuisine is very light on meat on average compared to Western cuisine. Most dishes treat meat more like a garnish or a side dish as opposed to the western mentality of treating meat as the main dish.
