Given the progress we've made in development, third world = poor simply doesn't hold anymore. In fact, a lot of "third world" countries are showing double digit GPD per capita growth. I rant about this because if I think too hard about the OP it makes me want to set things on fire. | ||

This Gus, I can say, is really a smug sort of guy. You can just see the arrogance seeping through his skin. I was introduced to him at the event and actually watched him deal with people. If you look at all the promo materials too, its always photos of him trying to look cool in his team jacket. I mean, aren't the players supposed to be the stars? WTF. Egomaniac that bit off more than he could chew. I mean, who the hell puts "BOSS" on their tourney ID? Oh the douchery. | ||

Perhaps Gus hoped that the event will work out fine and bring good reputation to him and AZK, and enable him to rope in more sponsors for future events. This funding could then be used for all current debt, but he is an idiot and some stuff just cannot work on promises and needs money now, not in a few months. Clive and the hotel staff were already in talk with the police, if I understood it right, and Amanda's bill also cannot be kept secret, so his structure of promises and lies collapses. This also reminds me of the prize money thread. All those events not paying out prize money seem suspicious, too. If Gus would have done it like that, holding prize money back instead of travel costs, he could have kept up his web of lies for at least a few months longer, and would now only have to explain why the event was organized badly. This is of course all pure pessimistic guesswork, fueled by rumors, but I cannot see why he would not come out and talk, if he actually has money and not only empty promises. This is even all happening in the middle of the week and not over the weekend. | ||

His ID should be like...Head organizer or something...team leader/owner... "BOSS" is well...overcompensating for something. No offense taken, man. The guy who told me that info is a guy that has worked with Gus in the past and worked on the PPSL event itself. In fact, he's one of the people Gus owes money to. I'm not at liberty to reveal his identity but there is absolutely no reason for this guy to spew BS. | ||
