I see that point. However, the way MLG has set up their tournament season with the culmination in Providence means that the people with points have such an easy time accumulating more points. Thus, if the qualifier season has a system that is flawed (and it has), the championship event is going to be equally flawed, because the seeding has been shaped by the system that has so heavily protected underachieving players. This however has nothing to do with Sase's participation; he could only attend one of the season's MLGs, thus he would not even have been seeded even with winning that event (see IMMvp's position). I think it is a good decision for players to be careful with their tournament scheduling and management. Investing in freeing up time for both practice and actually being in a good physical condition to perform in the tournaments you do compete in will probably be something to reap the rewards from down the line. As for the specific decision of skipping MLG Providence, I am not surprised at all; he has stated unequivocally that GSL is his prime concern. DreamHack Winter is not exactly a minnow when it comes to the tournament pyramid either, and of course supporting a Swedish event of that stature should come fairly natural to not only most Europeans but certainly most Swedes.
