I'm sure Flash would get salaray from KT whatever game he play.
But the question is how much. Sponsors get much more visibility in Broodwar right now than in SC2. But yeah, Flash will be getting a big salary whatever he plays in the future, i'm sure. (unless his cyborg arm ruined his skill)
But as others said above me, Flash apparently made ~$500k last year(everything, including salary and winnings). So not just 100-200k.

Same here. Glad Bisu is at least sticking with Protoss when he switches. Unless he betrays his fans! :o)

Here I was hoping for a protoss Jaedong. He said in an interview a while back that if he could choose again he'd pick P as it's easier to make a name with them

If I were Flash, I would keep making 400k from BW and attend some big SC2 tournaments then win them for 100k extra

No his salary was about the same as Bisu and Jaedong iirc but he got a raise this year to 400k $.

I am curious about this player called AriA that played against Huk on his stream. The games were pretty epic. http://ifile.it/tvgeprl/awesome game.SC2Replay This is the replay from huks twitter.I watch it from the zerg POV and i was WTH how can this guys multitask so well and have such a super solid strong game mechanic.Although his game understanding and decision making were not that great, i feel that he just have not understand the meta game currently?.His account has been there for some time.Is he a BW pro? I want to know because his play is pretty astounding and fresh compared to other zerg players.

It has been discussed just a few pages ago, there were arguments both for and against him being a BW pro.

The only real argument against was that it's an old account, which isn't a real argument anyway.

If they won't train harder it is only natural that they will be decimated by BW progamers. And I don't see anything wrong with such situation. I hope some top players will be able to compete with Brood War beasts, but first of all we should wait and see if those korean pros can transfer their skills to SC2. lets not forget the game has changed alot from bw, it is much easier to macro and control armies now, so the gap between korean bw pro and a foreigner that doesn't train as much isn't so big anymore. The game is easier to learn doesn't mean you can be top tier without training. Does that make sense to you? Yeah SC2 is easier to macro and control but it's not like players have already reached the limit of the game. What if someone with far superior multitasking and micro ability takes on this game? He will just play it better, harrassing with mutas, doing multiple baneling drops, spreading overloads everywhere, keeping an eye on every corner of the map and without missing a single larva inject. He will control the marines better and make them look like AI. The game is easier comparing to BW but no human being could ever reach the limit of SC2, therefore more training makes a player better and better. Quite simple isn't it? A game with complexity and variability like SC2 has "infinitive" possibilities like chess. You can always improve on it. This is a great post and I think its very true.

I'm surprised this got over 151 pages and after reading Chill's disclaimer I really don't feel like getting invested in it. -_- What people are surprised about is that they don't just invite SC2 teams to come over, but rather let their own players play SC2. As you pretty much can't be super high level in two very difficult games, this would mean that they're actually switching to SC2. Flash and everyone. How is that not newsworthy? Not everyone is switching, hell at this moment Flash has no reason to. He makes more than 100k a year or something outrageous like that playing BW, same goes for many of the top BW players. If anything most of those playing are just doing it casually. Now the B-Teamers I can see switching. Not all but most. The same players who probably wouldn't be able to get far in a starleague. The leaked information already states that basicly everyone will switch. And depending on how you look at it, Flash would probably have the most to gain. He's reported to make between 250-400K a year and if he can indeed live up to the hype of being able to "clean the house" with all other sc2 pros then he could more than double that in prize money alone.
No, the leaked information states that many BW progamers are practicing SC2 because PL might include SC2 alongside BW. There's no mention of switching. Stop spreading misinformation.
I really doubt KT would pay Flash as big a salary as they currently pay him if he played SC2, considering its lack of popularity in Korea.

"DES: If you do change over you starcraft 2, would you continue to play protoss?
Bisu: If you're asking for my opinion, then no. Reviews seem to be calling it Terran-World. It'd be nice if they worked on the balance a little bit. If Terran continues to win like this, who is going to play that game? If you're going to make Protoss such a weak race, might as well get rid of it. It's quite saddening. But, if I had to make the switch to Starcraft 2, I probably would play Protoss. (laughs)" From this interview (at least)

Until then, I don't see Flash switching to SC2, as BW is one of the most popular pro sports in Korea, and SC2 in Korea is nothing in comparison.

Thats true, BW is still stronger than SC2 in Korea but considering that SC2 is very strong in foreign countries, it might change over the years and the progamers needs somewhere to go. Thats my opinion.

I just can't see all of the top-bw players switch to sc2. The BW Proleagues can't just switch to SC2, except if GomTV gives up their exclusive rights - what whould be pretty stupid. Looks more like the BW Players who doesn't make real money out of BW will switch and in like 1-2yrs when like no new BW Players come up, because all the young players just start with SC2 ...BW will finally be dead after like 15yrs oO
