edit: also who is tempo? The fact that the age is 21 and up to might be a problem. I know lots of people who would play and are under 21
Well, Spanishiwa is 18, and he is attending, too. Seems that there is some kind of solution for that.

Leenock was too young, you have to be at least 18 years old to have the right to get into the casino, that's why he couldn't make it in the end.

I seriously doubt so. You can not draw conclusions from previous MLG events and this tournament.
First few of the koreans here are top top Koreans, none of the players are in MVP, Bomber or Nestea caliber imo. Most of these Koreans has also been beaten by foriegners recently, Stephano defeated both Ryung and MMA just a couple of weeks ago and Puma lost 2 matches straight to Mana, Thorzain took down Hero etc.
And another big difference between this tournament and MLG, the foreigners attending IPL 3 are actually the best performing as of this time.
Some top foreigners are missing like Sen, Mana, Fenix, Sase etc, but still a lot better players then in MLG. A korean will probably take it still, probably be 2 Koreans in the final too but beyond that im not so sure. Stephano defently has a real shoot at it with his current performance and players like Thorzain, HuK, IdrA, Ret and DeMuslim are not far behind.
MLG system looks like it is designed to make foreign scene look bad. Like, yeah, lets invite some koreans, we take Bomber, Losira, MC, MMA and MVP. Thats look good. And then we put them in pool play against our top seeded foreigners Incontroll, Drewbie, TLO, Haypro and Machine.
No shit koreans bet the crap out of foreigners in every MLG!

I thought Destiny was going to come? No?

Half of those "notable" players I wouldn't call notable at all.
Looking forward to it though but it feels sad that there are hardly any European players. Makes me think there wasn't any EU qualifier for some reason.

If you know them well enough to question their notability, they're notable.

Sorry if your favourite is not in that list ;-) I can't believe Lucky only has one vote, he's probably the second best player on the list after PuMa.

Wow, so you basically only need to win 2 rounds in the open qualifier and you earn 1000$. Pretty crazy.
More people should have taken advantage of this.
btw, how is the seeding in the bracket of the open qualifier determined?

I dont think you understand this correctly, open bracket is 256 players after 4 rounds 16 players will advanced to championship bracket to join 16 people from invitees and online qualifiers. (its double elimination so sometimes even more than 4x bo4)
That means to win 1000$ you need to win 4 x bo3 (or more because of double elimiation system) to get into top 16... and in open bracket you got at least 25+ well known players like:
coLCatZ, coLTriMaster, RGNSpades, RGNslush, aTnSocke, EGDeMusliM, EGiNcontroL, EGPuMa, EGMachine, colminigun, LiquidHayprO, LiquidSheth, RGNKiwikaki, vileSpanshwa, FnaticMSIKR, FnaticMSITTI
So chances that we will see a new face in 32man championship bracket are equal to zero... so no easy 1000$ for everyone.

Puma and Demuslim, the two most feared open bracket players, and the two most feared terrans from EG. amazing work
