why? this list is basically a popularity vote, and idra has as many haters as he does fans

Also, when this poll was first made, IdrA was not performing well at all and was not even a contender for best foreigner.

And he took maps from July and Bomber on LAN in dreamhack.
His LAN record against these guys show that he's actually competitive against them unlike some this certain overrated zerg who seems to be above him on the poll... Stephano is pretty good bro Yeah so what's the result? Rank #1 on EU ladder and won some online tourneys? Please go to LAN like MLG and run marathon in there to prove himself lol

Stephano is promising, but he's gotta show he can beat other good players in equal latency games first.

You people are worse than artosis in buying into forum hype or overreacting to one game, bet half the people voting for him have only even seen play him once or twice. At least wait till he attends a MLG or something to declare him the best foreigner.. Lan is what ultimately matters most for a pro gamer when measuring skill, some players own on ladder or smaller online tourney but suck in a lan tournament.
Select should be above Idra if this is based at all on current skill, rest of poll looks somewhat reasonable.

Reading the first few pages in the thread was really fun considering Stephano's his recent results :D

IMHO Stephano and Huk are the best foreigners out there. They are 1a & 1b. People like Idra, Whitera, etc are 2 and beyond.

Umm.. people were saying he had to prove himself, and he did. They weren't saying he couldn't perform to that level on LAN, just that he hadn't yet.

I wish people would stop referring to SelecT as a foreigner. He's Korean, is he not?

Gonna have to go for the good ol' HuK

Nice poll, but I have a few theoretical caveats.
The list is a bit outdated as the votes do not take into account the date of casting them, so they aggregate over a significantly different period. For example, Thorzain has not been in top form recently, but got a ton of votes from Dreamhack (deservedly, but not recently), Idra was on fire in the beginning of the month (win + beating Bomber, Boxer, etc in MLG) but gets dragged down by a lack of major results before that, and Stephano has had a decent run exactly at the time of this event which boosts his results.
For a list such as this to work, one would need to do it in a short period of time and aggregate the different poll results. I'd love the results of that.
Oh, and guys, try to be less hateful, you'll enjoy life more.

Why doesn't Idra deserve to be on the list? He plays pretty good D:

As for now:
1. HuK 2. Stephano

Whitera shouldn't really be on the level of Idra IMO. I mean whitera is good but he hasn't really put up any huge results lately
I'd put Huk, Stephano, Idra/Sen
Probably in that order. Thorzains up there as well is Select, there's not many good foreign protoss besides huk/sase sadly. And i feel that Idra could possibly be#1 if he could ever beat the issues he has with himself. Even though MC beat him in the latest MLG i can't help but think that MC already won before the game even started because Idra has so many issues keeping it together mentally. As for the whole idra shouldnt be here thing it seems like ppl r just hating to hate, and i find it hard to believe that someone can successfully argue that Idra doesn't deserve to be in the top 5.

His results are mixed. He generally does well at events where the competition is thin, but crumbles when things heat up slightly. It's such a drastic swing that I don't think he's stable enough to be considered a great player. What's more, he gives up a lot, which I think is something that the best don't do. Part of being great is the ability to correct your mistakes, big and small, within the confines of the competition you're in. He's shown time and time again to just quit when the going gets tough.

I feel like his results are overexaggerated, he's finished 4th in both columbus and orlando, losing to koreans (and huk), and he finished first at IEM. If you look at his results, literally MC is the worlds biggest cockblock to him ever. Mc finished his run at both MLGs and Dreamhack. Which is why i feel that Idra is an amazing player, but he just can't beat MC really.

It sounds like you haven't watched any of IdrA's matches the last month... he took IEM and got 4th at MLG Orlando (knocking out players like fucking Bomber, Boxer and Hungan in the process, and in the Boxer games he held it together even though he lost to a lot of weird play from boxer). Is that thin competition? Really? Crumbles? You seem to have mistaken Idra for the Idra several months ago. I don't know why I bother though, hators' gonna hate.

looking back at this thread, it seems not many ppl liked stephano lol
also i'm surprised to see idra being #1 not wanted on the list o.o

Hungan? Are you talking about HongUn? LOL
