I wish people would stop referring to SelecT as a foreigner. He's Korean, is he not?

He is of korean ethnicity, but lives and plays in America.

Then Huk should count as Korean?

His results are mixed. He generally does well at events where the competition is thin, but crumbles when things heat up slightly. It's such a drastic swing that I don't think he's stable enough to be considered a great player. What's more, he gives up a lot, which I think is something that the best don't do. Part of being great is the ability to correct your mistakes, big and small, within the confines of the competition you're in. He's shown time and time again to just quit when the going gets tough.

I feel like his results are overexaggerated, he's finished 4th in both columbus and orlando, losing to koreans (and huk), and he finished first at IEM. If you look at his results, literally MC is the worlds biggest cockblock to him ever. Mc finished his run at both MLGs and Dreamhack. Which is why i feel that Idra is an amazing player, but he just can't beat MC really.

To add to this if people are going to say Idra does well when competition is thin, you have to say the same thing about Stephano. I'm more impressed by Idra beating bomber and others at the last mlg than Stephano winning eswc

white ra should be in the top ten....Idra maybe in the last ten,,,most defenetly not in 3rd place..
white-ra is a better player hands down. He even has more archievements than Idra.

Also there are alot of names in that are better in the top 10 that somehow are at very low level compard to Idra. Names like naniwa, thorzain, select are much better players hands down. Anyone that negates this, just plain kidding themselves...

i think people voted for who they LIKE more INSTEAD of who is the BEST FOREIGNERS!
Also you must put your most wanted race aside if they are not the BEST PLAYER.

As i read through this thread it's obvious how much influence has the recent results on the opinion of people who voted, i just stick with the overall results of each player, not just tourney related but also considering the matches i see over streams and such.

I would have to say that the best foreign players are Sen, Select, Sase and Idra. (oh yeah i said it :D)
It's getting too hot.

Agree. Sure, Stephano has been tearing up recently, and it's impressive considering his age and the relatively small amount of time he has dedicated to the game... But I don't think he has been around for long enough to be sure that he isn't just another flavour of the month player who will vanish off the scene quickly. If the question was "Which foreigner has the most potential?" then I could understand a vote for Stephano, but voting for him as the current best seems a little silly.

Personally I think that IdrA, Sen, HuK and Select have been by far the most consistent from that list, and they're also the only three players who have really proven themselves to be on a similar level to the Koreans. Other players like Dimaga and Naniwa are close behind. I just don't feel like they have had the greatest opportunity to demonstrate their skill versus the very best, whereas the four I named have.

If I had to pick just one though, it would be between HuK and IdrA. It's hard though. I think IdrA has the better RTS mind, but his attitude is pretty lacking (to put it lightly), whereas HuK has the perfect attitude but is perhaps a little less sharp than IdrA (though that may simply be related to the difference in pro-gaming experience). If it were possible to combine the two of them then that's who I'd pick

Or you could read beyond the first 3 sentences. You don't see Nestea and MVP GG when they lose a base. You don't see White-Ra, Stephano, or HuK GG when they lose their army. Idra plays like every game is a practice game and writes off failure on others. That's not what I imagine the best foreigner would be like.

I'd have to disagree..... White Ra isn't a top 10 foreigner right now. Idra is top 2 or 3 ... White-Ra cant compare to players like Sen,Naniwa,Thorzain,Huk,or Idra.

agree.

im my opinion, its
1 - HuK
2 - Stephano
3 - IdrA (cause of weaker ZvP)
4 - Sen
And after that a pool of players like Naniwa, Sase, Thorzain, Select, Ret, MaNa right now.
no White-Ra

My vote goes to Stephano definitely. No weak matchups, has proven himself against koreans in BoX series. I feel there are quite a few foreigners that are easily on par with koreans in their strongest matchups, but those who can take games off koreans consistently are those with the 'baller' mentality. You don't feel any differences in their play level no matter who they are playing against. Examples are stephano, sen, diamaga, whitera, partly huk as he is used to playing against them.

HuK is undeniably number one.

Look at his results outside of Korea and in Korea. Together, they're unparalleled. And he's been consistent too.

As far as second place goes, sure you've got a few in the running (Stephano, IdrA, even Thorzain), but HuK is untouched at the moment. No one's even close.

I really can't even consider anyone other than HuK. He dominated at MLG Orlando against some crazy Korean opponents. He's been dominating lately.
