Then I looked at the other poll about who should NOT be on the list. Idra is #1 with about 50% of the vote, then I sighed because I knew the trolls won. seriously? it aint trolling. any person with a brain can take a look at idra's performance over these past few months and understand that he doesn't deserve it. the trolls are the people who actually think idra is good compared to the rest. the fact is, the world has caught up to him. during the beta, his bw experience helped him power through enemies with macro. but now everyone can macro and he is being left in the dust. unless we see a DRAMATIC change within his training (moving to korea and playing like a madman), we are going to forget idra in a year. Results > everything. Idra has them half the people on that list have none. Until that changes in their favor Idra deserves to be on that list. The question is not who the most successful player is (or in Idra's case, was at one time a couple months ago), but who is the best. No the question is who is not deserving to be on that list. Idra should in no way be at the top. I agree thought that Idra is currently doing badly and hes def not the best foreigner, but he's far from the worst we have to offer. ok i agree with that. he HAS done a lot more than a lot of the people on the Not Deserve List. Realistically he shouldn't be at the top. but perhaps it is because his decline has been so steep that people cannot but help mark him down? That is my thinking, cuz his results and his manner has created a dramatic downfall.
That could definitely be part of the reason why. He's always in the spotlight so if he slumps badly it's magnified because everyone is constantly watching.

lol wow the thinking process of some of the people in this thread is pretty sad. I'm pretty surprised by the results so far.

White-Ra should be there tbh as well as Fenix and Sjow imo.
But from that list I would say HuK, SeleCT or ThorZain, maybe Naniwa in his best day. Except for Sen getting, you know, 3rd at NASL.
But that was some time ago, now in NASL Season 2 he is not doing as well, leaving Dignitas and not having the beast of a Terran that Select is, showed against non other than SeleCT himself, Sen is not in the level that he was during the NASL Season 1 finals and a bit before that imo.

I'm honoured by your votes. But I think that for myself my results have been going too much up and down in the last 5-6 months (probably because of the RSI thing I had). I think i need some more results to consider myself as the best foreigner. I think that winning 2 bo3s and "almost winning" a bo5 is way too little of a sample size to determine anyones skill.
I also think that at the moment it's too close between the top foreigners to accurately say "Oh, X is definitely the best foreigner, followed by Y and Z".
I also think that Nerchio should be on that list (though he still has to really prove himself at lans so i suppose he can be left out for the time being).

Funny to see the IdrA haters come out in the Poll about him not deserving to be on the list as one of the best foreigners.
I just went with HuK. Thorzain is close but his style seems too passive to be the best. (I think he probably comes in at 2 or 3 on my list). IdrA would be one of the best if he got rid of some of the mind games and balance issues out of his head. Select is also looking better and better. Especially that ruthless drop play in Code A on Antiga Shipyard. Naniwa also has potential but seems to be in that depressed Protoss mood at the moment, hopefully MVP house will cheer him up and get him back on track.

The only thing I think I can remember is him getting crushed by MC at HSC Facerolling through IPL qualifiers, stomping marineking, mma, puzzle, revival etc he didn't stomp mma and he didn't played vs marineking. i would say the best forgeigner at the moment is thorzain followed by huk, mana and stephano.

I voted Huk on that list because of my overall gauge of his skill, despite his recent performances. If he continues to struggle I'd give the edge to Thorzain. A lot of other swedes seem to have the potential for that kind of recognition between naniwa, sase, and even jinro if he stops slumping. I didn't realize Huk had dual citizenship.

Stephano's clearly pretty good, but it's hard to value wins that involve either cross-server-region lag or jet lag. Which all of his wins against truly good Korean players involve, no?
I mean, I'm not trying to pick on him. This is a problem true of everyone who does not move to Korea in order to prove themselves in the strongest league against the strongest enemies without any possible confounding advantages. There are no questions about your strength when you make round of 16 or better in a recent GSL season; the competition's absurd good these days.
Though as an exception to this problem, Sen performed well against top Koreans when they were both jet lagged and playing across from each other on the NASL stage.

Strelok & SjoW deserves to be on there.

Why is HuK canadian/american? Americans jealous that a canadian player is best foreigner?

Hmm.
WhiteRa would be a competitor if he was actually trying to win these days, but instead he just just wants to have fun at the highest level competition (love him for that).
Morrow and Demuslim are both better than Idra, but neither are really at the top. I want to say SjoW, but he makes too many heartbreaking mistakes at the moment.
Right now, its Thorzain or Huk at the top (Thorzain wins 1v1, but Huk seems more well-rounded), with Select just behind. Stephano, Naniwa, Fenix and Mana have the highest potential and will likely surpass everyone else sooner or later. I really want Naniwa and Fenix to explode with their amazing work ethic. We'll see. Sen is a wild card at the moment, I usually rate him at the same level as Thorzain or Huk, but haven't seen enough of him recently D:

Also HI THORZAIN, *swoon*.

Sen then IdrA for sure. The others all go up and down too much.

Awww don´t sell yourself short man, but I agree in that atm its too close to determine who is the best foreigner.
You´re such a nice person

HuK has been the most consistent foreigner and has done the best in korea out of all of them. So I would say huk is definitely up there.

Huk for sure, Thorzain is definitely a close second I think~

Sjow are you serious? Did you watch his recent GSL games? That what some of the most pathetic attempt of emulating actual good play - What did spend his time doing, when he should have been practicing, in Korea? His play, and his build looked so noob compared to koreans... It was kinda sad actually.
