I see Kiwi or IdrA taking it for NA. Sheth may or may not have a better chance against kiwi, but IdrA's serious-face ZvZ is pretty damn good so when he hits IdrA, he will probably lose.

MVP probably for SK, but I'd be happy with a Puma win. Losira and Bomber, even MMA all have chances though because TvT can be kinda volatile and Losira is really good.

I want to say Naniwa/Thorzain, possibly SaSe for EU

Remember, no matter where you go, there you are.

These brackets... I wish they made it easier to pick who to root for in some of these (yes I know there's a reason for it).

You must have had a lot of players say no...

Strelok, Dimaga, Darkforce, Socke, Stephano, Mana, Adelscott, Goody, Kas, Nerchio, etc...

Tyler, Incontrol and Destiny?

Why no Huk, Select or dde? I'd even take Vibe over any of those players.

I guess they invited players from their ranking, since every player from EU is ranked pretty high. Many of the players you mentioned hasn't even competed in the MLG before.

then how did they invite destiny who barely has any ranking points?
or Sase who has never competed at any MLG ?
and why arent TLO or Socke invited then who have more ranking points than Jinro, thorzain or whitera?
and also whats the points of inviting 6 swedes? lol wheres the diversity?
Why wouldnt they try to use this to get new europeans to mlg who didnt see any reason to fly over before instead of inviting those who attend anyways (and some of whom are significantly worse than other potential invites.)

destiny and incontrol are weird choices for NA. NA doesn't have a lot of good players though. There are a lot better players in europe than some of the ones listed but overall this isn't too bad.

Well these brackets are interesting.
Round 1
EU:
1. Both Nani and Sase are godly at pvp, this will either be an interesting match or a series of fourgates.
2. No offense but Thorzain will probably stomp Haypro even with his weakness to zerg.
3 Ret vs white-ra could go to either player
4. Sjow vs Jinro: My money is on Sjow what with Jinro slumping but Sjow's TvT quality fluctuates enough that Jinro could certainly take this if he put the effort in.

NA:
1. I love Destiny to bits but ZvZ is Idra's strongest matchup if I'm not mistaken.
2. Sheth should have zero problems beating incontrol ( again no offense)
3. Slush vs tyler comes down to who wants it more.
4. Kiwi should beat major if he brings the same quality of skills he brought to the last mlg.

Korea
1. Mvp vs Puma ... no fucking clue man no fucking clue. My heart says Mvp though.
2. Bomber is the favourite but we do know he is not unbeatable. I think how much Coca dwells on mlg could play a factor here.
3. Could go either way, both players are well aware of how the other plays and how best to beat them. possibly the most interesting round one matchup we can get.
4. Hero shows a lot of promise but Losira's best matchup is versus protoss so i expect the IM zerg to pull out a win here.

/analysis.

Sorry I talk a lot

I think all the groups are weird....its not "the best player" from every region as the OP says
Still Im gonna watch it.....but Im not impressed by the players selection...It should be called "most available players at this time from every region"....my beef is just the hype thats all :D
Im just a zerg

You are not a true SC2 fan if you put Naniwa over White-Ra.

What? It's hard to argue that White-Ra is better than Nani right now

True, didn't think of Sase. It was just a guess. And we don't know that they didn't invite players like TLO or Socke, maybe they did but they said no? Or maybe they didn't. I can agree that 6 swedes is kind of over the top. Maybe we will get some hint or statement from MLG about the reasoning behind the invites.

I can't wait until iNcontroL looses enough points to stop qualifying for MLG, he won't win a game......again.

The Format
Each bracket will consist of eight players from that region, who will compete in best-of-three matches in a double elimination tournament. In the end, the winner of each region will take home $2,000 in cash, and will also earn an all-expenses paid trip to MLG Providence, where they will take on the winners of the other two regions, and the Blizzcon Champion. These four players will play best-of-three matches in a single-elimination Finals for the Championship. The winner of the Global Invitational Finals will take home an additional $3,000, bringing the total winnings for 1st Place to $5,000.

I wonder what happens when MVP wins Blizzcon and this tourney, hehe.

Fixed

Would guess Select really focusing on 100% practice while hes in Korea to get as much as possible out of his stay there.

I don't mind any of the invites just happy for more SC2, can't always have all the top players at each event/tournament.

what. the. iNcontroL, tyler, destiny? sorry mlg but i thought you would have learnt from last mlg. Atleast bring a darkhorse in like trimaster or something.

Otherwise, great idea ^^. But all the koreans will probably roll the na if it comes to it.
