A month will improve his play but its not like its going to change his career around. Hes a mediocre foreigner in a time where the best foreigners are comparable to mediocre koreans. I dont get these pilgrimages players have been doing lately, qxc, drewbie, grubby etc. Either go to Korea and stay so you can compete, join one of the two pro houses outside of korea, or resign yourself to the irrelevance and low pay of being an amateur, which is what you are.

yo kid you put amateur and grubby in the same page, might wanna check that out

Gotta agree, favorite pro gamer of all time <3

He's awesome, creative, and incredibly fun to watch. Simultaneously, he is like the most mannered and nice player I've ever seen. Plus, he does awesome WC3 unit voices :DDDDDDD

Best of luck to him, I was a fan of his WC3 play as well.

I think he should do well.

Don't doubt Grubby because he's only going to be there a month. QXC was in Korea about a month when he all-killed IM, just the higher skill of the ladder in Korea makes players better there.

But one month does not change enough. He will become a much better player, but after 2-3 months the game has changed so much again in Korea that a lot of what he has learned will already be outdated again. Training as good as it gets for one out of 12 months will not get him to the very top of the competition. I like Grubby as much as anyone and I actually want him to do very well, but I don't see it happening. He has been a mediocre foreigner the whole year and shown no real signs of improvement.
And qxc did very well in that all-kill, but since then, he still has not made any impact in the following MLGs or any other tournaments that I've heard of. He is still in school full-time, so I guess we'll only see how good he can be after he is finished with that. But also in his case, one month just ddidn't change much except one day of fame.

edit: After all this negativity, of course this is a step in the right direction and I hope he can turn thinks around for his SC2 career.

I really wish the best for Grubby but everyone should know right now that he (nor anyone else) will EVER see the same kind of success that he had in War3. Being solid in sc2 is infinitely harder than it was in war3 for 2 reasons. One, luck plays a much greater role in Starcraft (even despite random item drop chances and unit/heroes not having a set amount of damage). Two, the competition is fiercer.

but you don't like Grubby do you. Your post is so negative and untrue it's not even to be taken serieus.
Grubby is not top of europe you are right but saying he has not improved in his 7 months of play is just talking out of your ass. This is not NASL anymore, he played bad there that is true, but take some time and see some of his showmatches or his stream and you will see his play is getting really good.
How 1 month of korea can turn negative is a question to me, any time you can get there is a great learning experience, there is no downside on it ... yet people will find one.

I think he is actually talking about a Halo player, at least the only "Walshy" I know of is a old halo player.

Grubby has tremendously improved in his 7-8(?) months of play. Saying otherwise is stupid.
Just because he didn't do well at NASL doesn't mean he's bad or anything @_@
