Big big props to Fenix, very well played vs MC this morning, he will be a great addition to the team, except to see him in Code A and then Code S in a few short months. If you can't wait that long, I'm sure Fenix will be owning nerds harder than ever before at the next MLG events.

sidenote: awesome to see that korean teams are providing an opportunities for foreigners of this magnitude. I really hope that more teams start looking at the foreign talent. They should think of the foreign tournaments not only as an opportunity to spread their name in the foreign scene, but as a scouting opportunity for new talent. Fenix is one of the few players that you can instantly see his improvements when he really buckles down and practices, I see him as top8 MLG material for Orlando.

Glad for Fenix, he seems to have trained hard since he's in Korea and it shows. If instead of Fenix the overlay would show "any good korean terran" I would not notice that something is wrong, his play is just good, solid and his builds are up to date.

Anyway, saying that there are tons of better terrans in the foreigner scene isn't quite a point, are there really any other good terran outside of Korea that aren't part of a team (Signed contract)?. Besides Fenix is already there in Korea.

I think they hired fenix because of his dedication, he is really smart and he is a really good player (remember MLG Columbus open bracket). And MAYBE (just maybe) there is something going on to hype the Latinamerican starcraft 2 scene.

So chill out guys, today he proved he CAN beat really good players. I hope he really keeps doing well. I'm very happy for him.

TBH I don't think you'll see a lot of foreigners move to Korean teams.

Pay is probably way better in the West as are prospects for profit. As well, to get to be noticed by a Korean team you have to play in Korea, so even being on a foreigner team it's a stretch (you really need to be sponsored by a foreign team already), unless you have money to go to Korea yourself.

And then your contract with your foreign team needs to end... I think the reason Fenix and fnatic split is because Fenix wanted to stay in Korea (without the support of GOM now that it ended) and fnatic probably doesn't want to foot the bill for a player who has latency issues and can represent them a lot less in the foreign scene which is their focus. Good split for both parties IMO.

This is really awesome, maybe we will see two foreigners in code S again. And it'll be sick watching Nestea play at a foreigner event instead of at 4 in the morning lol. He's the best zerg but I never really see him because of that.

Looks more and more like Fnatic doesn't know what they're doing, too. It sucks that Rain probably still has 8-9 months on his contract with them, at the minimum (assuming it was at least a year long contract, which seems to be the norm for a popular player).
