That being said, I think it's wrong what MLG is doing. Milkis already has a very successful career as a candle maker and is currently in school learning robotics. I'd hate to think of what could happen were he pulled away in the name of "esports".
Plus, there's no job security in SC2. I mean, just look at Brood War. It was just getting started and BAM, here comes StarCraft II just a few short years later. What will happen when StarCraft 3 comes out in 1-2 years? Different game, different translation needs. Milkis would find himself jobless and eventually homeless due to the recession.
I think it's great that MLG is taking an interest in Milkis and his amazing translation abilities, but unless they're offering him a six figure income it's clear he can do better with his current profession. Candles are a multimillion dollar industry and esports is just a drop in the bucket comparatively. I disagree with this completely. I mean I know Milkis on a personal level and he doesn't really enjoy his candle making job, and would rather translate I am pretty sure. But he does make a lot of money from his trade. MLG will need to make the flash/KT deal look like chump change in order to milkis to be hired. It was my understanding that Milkis tires of the candle making game. The politicking in that industry is enough to drive any good soul mad. The grapevine would have one believe that Milkis seeks to rekindle his passion as a craftsman with pottery, but I am certain that destiny has something else in mind. He was, after all, a world class underwater basket weaver. I know in my heart that if Milkis chooses to return to basket weaving, this time emphasizing art over competition, then serenity awaits him. And we all know that the only thing stronger than the allure of basket weaving is the baskets themselves.
Didn't he receive a an offer to join the champion mozambique team. I seem to remember that were experts at the triple overlap twist, a skill of great value to any UWBW. Pity that the sport hasn't been able to keep its head above water.

As a fellow Korean, I can say Milkis' translation is mostly spot on. I am so happy for him right now. Gotta go open a can of beer as a celebration.

As much as i'd love to see Milkis become a full time employee of MLG...i shudder to think what this would possibly due to the basket weaving scene...its in such an upheaval at the moment that they need a new leader, a new God of basket weaving, and that is Milkis. I implore you Milkis, shun this offer!

I liked Milkis FHM shoot. I dunno how this job would tie into modeling though..

Milkis used to be a caster on GSL but she was replaced for other people to tryout. If she takes this job for MLG she won't be able to cast GSL anymore in the future.
Are you refering to: John or lilsuse?
Milkis never casted GSL, he is a translator for TL.net....

That said, full time offer is a different ball game. Milkis is from UChicago Economics no? That's undoubtedly the best economics program in the US ( world?) and the median starting salary for its grads probably is close to 70,000 USD per year or even more. Will be pretty crazy if MLG offers that much. Without trying to look too much into his personal life, I'd say looking at it from purely monetary point of view, it's probably not worth it for him to go full time MLG.
of course this isn't just about money( it's ESPORTS!) and the economics job market isn't exactly hot right now. Starting salary of 70K is an exaggeration unless you're talking about higher degrees. That would be so nice though if it were true. My friend from school got a job offer @ 65k/year w/ a economics degree from Notre Dame. It's not an exaggeration at all. From U of Chic it's very possible With an undergrad degree or a grad degree?

I think you forget that he swore off UWBW after that terrible terrible accident in the Coral Sea Depth Competition, I hear the Canadian team still hasn't recovered... So. Many. Pincushions. *shudders*

so now only milkis needs to accept and MLG will have become even better(and it's already one of the best tourneys out there). He truly deserves it and I cant thinkl of anyone better for the job. Happy days!

Sounds impressive with just an undergrad degree. If this is true, then I'm switching majors. I go to uchic, funny how I never got to meet Milkis @_@

offering a job through twitter? this is weird

Give Milkis more minerals! He deservez dem mineralz
In all honesty unless they are offering him something substantial with his education background i only think he should take it if hes really passionate about it.
Its worth it to take a pay cut if its something you really love.
At the same time i hope MLG is offering him something very substantial it would be insulting to do anything less especially with his education.
Im sure MLG would do right by him though , and if its something he loves he should take the Jerb
Milkis took rrrrr JERBBS
