As someone who has spent a decent amount of time with Fenix having met him personally after spending most of my weekend with him at IEM North America last year, I have to say that the departure shows his ambition towards his personal goals of being the best out there. He wanted to go to Korea long-term even back then once he had a good enough opportunity, and I know that he will find a good team that will support said goals now that he is over there.

I would say to expect something interesting coming out of one of the teams with a Korean presence in the not so distant future... He won't stay "teamless" for very long if knowing him as long as I have is any indication!

This is stupid. Players are not handling professional relationships very well. Fnatic has been Jian's sponsor since basically the beginning, where is the loyalty? Obviously Jian didn't get a better offer and part ways, he basically couldn't get what he was flat out asking for, and Fnatic dropped him. Considering that they were paying such things as 'living expenses', Jian must have asked for a salary on top of it, and Fnatic couldn't afford it. The chances of Fenix actually winning anything in Korea is pretty much 0%, and with the Koreans attending all of the foreign events, the chances of Fenix winning something even in his home country of Peru are hovering around 1%

Good luck Jean

Why? Because he wasn't willing to accept the paycut they were offering him he has no loyalty?

Thats just bs. A player who dedicates himself full time to being a pro sc2 imho has a right to a decent salary and as long as we don't know what the actual number was it's just stupid to judge.

The growth and maturation of eSports. It has yet to be determined where this is all heading in the future, but moves like this one are only helpful to its further advancement.

If he can go out and get what he wants, he should. Loyalty is nice, but in the end, it shouldn't impact your decision too much. If a better offer is out there, you take it. In this game you don't have a lot of time to make money. You need to maximize it when you can.

as bad as this may sound, i think teams are beginning to focus more on a players "starpower" in addition to their skill. huk has large market value for a reason.

Contracts are signed for a reason. This is true with any sport where any form of salary is involved. If a sponsor really wants a firm grip on their player they'll make the contract juicy.

Now he is his own boss. And the sky is the limit.

TSL has lost some players. Maybe he impressed them, and should be knocking on their doors.
