Its because we perceive Liquid as the endgame for a team to be in. So now when Huk moved to a rival team of a rival player, it just seems strange. This is teamliquid.net after all, so we inevitably get emotionally attached to teamliquid and the players. Players switch teams all the time, but not much drama there (drama as in fans emotions not team/league scandals and arguments).

TeamLiquid was the best forgeiner team for a while however since MLG Dallas I think it was, they have been no where near the best team, they are simply the most visible team. Although they seem to be doing ok right now (I haven't been following starcraft recently on account of the horrible community but I got bored so I decided to pop in. So I might be mistaken). Get emotionally attached all you want, that is what drives sports more than any skill shown but I just don't think it does nor should matter that Huk left.

At this point Liquid really does not have any top tier players (at least for foreigners) apart from Sheth, so calling the team "endgame" is a gross exaggeration.

Liquid has never been "end game team", and lately liquid has really been in great slump.

There has been for long time, plenty of way better teams than liquid. To name few:
- oGs
- SlayerS
- Prime
- fOu

Naming korean teams doesn't really count... People are obviously putting it in context of foreign teams.

Great sign up, but let huk rest, i mean he has traveled way to much and cannot show his best.
First he slumped on Assembly(still was on liquid at the time) and then on Gamescom.

Go EG and huk, hope for the best.

For foreign players a Korean team as an end game doesn't seem to be an option, the best they seem to do is a foreign team in cooperation with a Korean team.

Because Korean teams are better than every single foreign team. Even a lesser korean team like fOu is better than 100% of foreigner teams.

Yeah, and thats why this whole thing about liquid being end game team is total false unless we are really talking about foreign teams which was not the case obviously, he was talking in general.

I don't think they were talking about 'endgame' team in terms of skill, it's in terms of prestige.

So, I go without internet for a few days and I come back to this lol.

Well, Alex Garfield's piece was pretty honest and I really liked it, and even though I don't really like EG, I'm not die hard Liquid either(which is pretty bad to say on TL.net, but I love the community and like the team I guess is the way to put it), so I'm really more surprised than upset about this announcement.

However, it is pretty cool that Idra is finnally going back to Korea so he can get away from the EG chobos living in the US. Hopefully his play gets batter because since being in the US it's been going downhill.

It's really cool to think about those three all living in the same house, and I'm even more curious as to who else may be joining them in the future. Hopefully Artosis gets one of his awesome house tour videos of their place!!
