I have said it and will say it again: I think with Idra, Huk and Puma training together, the foreign progamers would gain the most from this. I believe EG will continue bringing players to Korea so that they can train with the best players they can.
This would lower the skill gap and hopefully foreign progamer can catch upon the koreans
On August 17 2011 02:56 Bigtony wrote: This could be a big move for the future of the foreigner scene. I hope the training house goes well and we have a foreigner win the GSL!!!!
I dont see how this would mean a foreigner would win a GSL. I think everyone can agree that it will be really really difficult for EG to provide a training house as good as the OGS house. So if huk was gonna win a GSL, he would have a much higher chance to do it while he was practicing in the OGS house.

How does this mean HuK will get worse as a player?
Are some of you really that stupid to think he can't practice SC2 still, living in a different training house? It's called battle.net ... That's how you play SC2 with people, even when you're sitting right fucking next to them or in the same room. He switches teams and it means he can no longer play with anyone in Korea but IdrA and PuMa?
Get a fucking clue, and chill the fuck out fanboi's.
Yeah you totally got the point of a korean training house. You don't think, having the opportunity to talk with people like MC face to face about strats/matchups may have helped HuK becoming such a great player?
Uh, he can't speak proper english, at all, so where do you get off at?
You don't become good by talking lol. You play the game, that's how they communicated, through the game, through practice. They can still do this. He can still play with any Korean player he wants to through battle.net. Stop being so smart.

It would be a sham if they did. Idra, Puma, and Huk were great players before they joined EG. It's not like EG trained them or helped them develop. In fact the only one we can say for sure (Idra, because he's been there for a while) degraded severely since joining EG.
Ye exactly, I don't feel any rage against HuK or EG, but still, HuK is HuK 'cause of TL and I hope he/EG will not forget that any time soon.
For the folks who can't seem to stop with the negativity: How is this any different from any other team signing a player who isn't strictly a free agent?
If you're going to be this pissed at EG for signing Huk, you should hate every other team in the history of anything because everyone has picked up players off of other teams.

Agreed, this move was purely a financial one, his current practice situation in oGs house is hard to match. And as HuK said himself, he'll probably regret this move in the future.

Well it's also the announcement that IdrA is going back to Korea and that they're setting up a team house there. But I think noone expected a 600 page thread full of hype ><.
I guess that's true but I think it's purposeful planning by EG so they can hype both at the same time, knowing that hyping just the taking of huk would be incredibly rude. Actually on second thought maybe that isn't purposeful planning because that still sounds like something EG would do.

If liquid was signing idra, wouldn't they hype it for several days at least?
Maybe if he was a free agent who was looking for a team. If liquid nabbed a member of another team by buying them out (like that would happen) - they would have some tact about how they announce it.

No it's the signing of a new player. Should not matter which team he is on, plus they went about it the right way (contacting Naz). Can't see how that's scumbaggy. Plus they were also hyping that and IdrA back to Korea and the EG Korea house......
What does that mean? If they talked to naz it was just so they could buy out his contract, but I don't see how that has anything to do with how they announce it.

How did they steal him? They literally did this the best way possible. It is EG I guess and people are always irrational in their hate when it comes to them.
It's semantics. You've never heard "steal" used that way?
So Liquid stole Huk (as well as all their other players) when they signed him a year ago? And no I've never heard steal used in that way, that's retarded.
I thought huk was a free agent? And anyways I don't think you're getting it lol.
you've really never heard steal use that way? how old are you?
we're at the store buying cucumbers. there is one cucumber left. you see it. I run up and grab it. you: "you stole that cucumber right out from me.".
we're at an auction, we both want a puma doll. some guy bids 10 thousand. you make a gigantic bid, 5 million!
"100 billion!", I shout. I stole the puma doll from you.
If he was a free agent how could they fucking steal him. That's your word, not mine. You say it's semantics when in reality it's just you using a charged word to try and further discredit a team you dislike.
What? Are you retarded?
Huk was a free agent when liquid signed him... not when EG took him from liquid, lol
And if someone beat me at an auction that's not stealing, that's winning an auction you buttfrustrated little boy (Sorry, thought I should bring age into it too). That analogy was weak.
apparently you are too dumb to understand that words have multiple meanings and don't always have to be used 100% literally
In professional sports, a free agent is a player whose contract with a team has expired and who is thus eligible to sign with another club or franchise.
It's a bit sad that Huk decided to join EG. It was a business decision so whatever. However a less dramatic announcement could have reduced the drama about the transfer. Many people will not like this decision and EG as always makes a drama out of it.
