How did they steal him? They literally did this the best way possible. It is EG I guess and people are always irrational in their hate when it comes to them.

Get money get paid! But goodluck, idra needs to get back into form. It seems right now he is the weakest person out of the three. Kind of strange though that he is better than alot of foriegners considering he is seemingly so far behind the metagame (at leave zvp), Korea will be good for him I guess.

EG seems to pay way more than TL. What other reason could there be for HuK to leave?

I believe that fans are important, yes. Reputation is important, yes. But what will happen in 10 years when HuK can't play anymore and has a wife, mortgage and kids? Sure, maybe he will be like Boxer or WhiteRa and keep playing. Or maybe he will get Carpal Tunnel and have to get a desk job. What will happen to the fans then? And to the Liquid peeps? And to the EG peeps? That alone cannot put food in your plate.

Now, think about it objectively. Liquid offers you about 28K a year. EG offers you about 110K a year. Sure you can say anything about the love you have for Liquid, but when you have to think about your wellbeing and the fact that you are on a timer since not many SC pros keep playing efficiently past 30, you have to come in, make a splash and cash out as fast as possible.

HuK, I salute you. I am a Liquid fan and not an EG fan, but because of you I'll follow more the EG team. You did the right thing and you have to take care of yourself and your wellbeing. Grats.

Sigh, wish Huk didnt leave Liquid, both because I dont like EG [and most of their players tbh] and because I worry that it wont be the right choice for Huk. Hes trading MC, Inca, and the rest of the OGS house for Puma [a great terran no doubt] and Idra [who is currently mediocre relative to korean players]. Thats it? I suppose more players could be added, and EG could get hooked up with amateur practice partners so Huk doesnt have to rely on ladder for PVP/simply some variety. I certainly hope so, otherwise Huk will definitely go down hill.

I'm pretty split by this on one side, I'm happy for HuK - PuMa, HuK & idrA is a beastly team to be living with... I can accept that HuK is leaving Liquid, even though Liquid has been my favorite foreign team since forever, because of the way it happened with Nazgul's blessing and hopefully with a transfer fee.

However, whats not cool, is to hype this for 4 days - Every audioclip of this 'mystery' site is a spit in the face of my favorite team - It's cool that you got HuK now EG - But don't fucking hype it up like this, get some fucking class.

With all sincerity,

Fuck you EG

Good luck HuK, gonna miss you in that blue shirt man

The interesting part to me is that if Huk is getting around 6 figures, I would imagine Idra is in the same boat.

These are some real freakin' contracts that I like !!

Nooo, not at all. Just compare the results of those two and then re-read what you wrote. LOL.

Have you ANY idea how much fans and viewers Idra brings? Maybe you should rethink what you just wrote

exactly. and plus when idra signed the contract, he was the best foreigner and was in korea. I have a feeling Idra is making more than we all thought. Quite frankly I don't know if Huk is truly getting 6 figures, but its high. And so is Idra's salary. Dude is arguably the most popular player in all of sc2.

Big mistake by Liquid imo.

Never would have expected this from Huk.

Lost a little more respect for EG, but thats just my opinion, so no one get offended over it.

Mistake by Liquid? How could they have affected Huk's decision to go to EG when even Nazgul said:

The last few weeks were the negotiation period of Huk's contract. We had known since a few months ago that it would be a difficult period. Coming off winning championships at Dreamhack and HSC, and with a legion of fans supporting him, it was obvious that there would be a lot of interest in acquiring HuK. For us, this meant making him an offer that we felt would rival any other offer that we thought could be made. To the furthest extent our finances would allow, we tried to keep HuK with the team. HuK, too, wanted to stay very much. He loved being a part of Liquid, and was willing to stay with us for significantly less than other teams. However, the offer that he received from EG wasn't just significant, it was potentially life-changing.

I really hope this works out, and I'm happy IdrA is back in korea to rock the GSL, but I fear this might turn sour eventually, was only a couple of -- Inside the game -- I think it was, that IdrA said HuK was good at executing builds but wasn't much more than that. (Or something to that effect).

Only thing Im worried about, is Huk's new practise partners. Puma is great, Idra too, but Huk is leaving a big hub of extremely skilled players behind. But I trust Huk knows what he is doing

It's not always irrational. There's plenty of rational reasons to dislike them.

Oh, what's that? You want more? Okay. Coming soon: An announcement.

From their youtube video, at the bottom of the description. They really have a love for announcements, don't they.

To those saying EG stole Huk and only snipes/poaches established players, it would be good of you to remember that EG was trying to nab up Huk a year ago when he left MyM at the same time as TL.

As somebody who knew this was coming for a while now I can only compliment EG and Liquid in the utmost professional way this transfer was handled.

As for the Huk / Idra controversy, well they are both professionals and I'm sure they will find a way to cooperate in the best way possible. Perhaps they won't be roommates in Korea right from the start but I'm sure they'll make it work.

EG congratulations with your pick-up and Huk, may you lose every match against a TL member

ps. and for everybody who is angry about the hype EG put on it: Grow some balls. If your favorite sports team has the opportunity to do something like this they sure as hell will do it. Most teams don't take the risk of stalling the announcement because they are afraid it will leak and they lose all initiative but EG chose to do so to being able to announce it with their return to Korea. I think every team out there is hoping to do something similar if the other party is mannered enough to cooperate.

EG has the American philosophy: try to be the best, if not throw money at the problem. Since Incontrol, Machine, Axlav and StrifeCo are not producing anything in game (at least I respect the pull that Incontrol has as a community spokesperson), you have to throw money at the problem to establish yourself as the best team. Idra, Huk, Puma and DeMuslim will be promising. Now, if I may say so, it would be great for EG to buy outright a Korean team like what FXO did. Get all of oGs and just turn them to EG. EG.MC, EG.SuperNova, EG.HyperDub, coach EG.TheWind, plus the current roster. That will be throwing money to the problem and solving it. Plus I assume that EG has a bigger bankroll than FXO, so if they could pull it off, EG can.

Sure say what you can about "family" and "team spirit" and "brotherhood". But if you can surely tell me that you wouldn't change your team tag for making 5 or 7 times as much as you did before, you are the exception and not the rule here.

EG, please poach thorzain, naniwa and another korean or two, send over demuslim if he wants to go. Hire someone like milkis who can speak english and korean as a manager and setup a real korean house then enter GSTL. You'll have tons of fans then

If its only puma, huk and idra training together, man that would be the most awkward house ever, I can't picture those 3 getting along that well especially since puma doesnt speak english. On the bright side, I could see a reality comedy sitcom deal if its just those 3 living together, awkwardness, nerd fights, korean not understanding anything, good times.

PS I think its time to cut some dead weight, machine, axslav etc aren't gonna do anything at the rate they're going.
