Why would you want someone to fail? Really? That is just plain bad manner and straight up disrespectful.

I do not understand why people hate vile.Spanishiwa... Every StarCraft 2 progamer has a fan base so, I understand how one could tire hearing their fans scream about how good the player is, but you support the player, not the fans. That seems to be rigid style now, just to dislike things due to their popularity. If something is overrated, then it will fail on its own accord when the time comes.

To succeed:
LoSirA - I love watching his aggressive play style, but he is NOT going this time. : /
MMA - He won the last MLG making quite a few fans. His aggression and speed reminds of the clips of Boxer I watched years ago.
Boxer - The legend. Yes, he should reclaim the title during StarCraft 2.
IdrA - Greg said he took a few steps back from the game and he is doing better now. I am looking forward to seeing IdrA come back in a big way. Good luck IdrA!
Select - I would like to see him do well because he is a good player and just had a rough event during the last MLG.

To fail:
The bad mannered people wishing ill or failure on others.

MVP: Extremely good Terran, seems to be in a slump recently which is a shame because of the success he has had in SC2, we all know he is a good player, just look at how he could play Brood War (yeah he wasn't a bonjwa, but he was pretty damn good at the end of his BW career, a time where BW is laid out to a science). He is also very fun to watch (one of the few Terrans I enjoy watching). I just love to see this guy succeed considering his background and all.

Sorry dude, nut wrong information here.He was pretty awful at BW by the end and in his whole BW career, he had like, 1 month of brilliant play, the rest of his career was borderline a-teamer.
I wasn't saying he was a Bonjwa, just the fact he was good at Brood War. You don't have to be Jaedong/Flash/Bisu to be considered "good" at Brood War. 2010 Hana Daetoo MSL AND the end is synonymous bro.

To Win:

Socke, this guy deserves a huge win, hes such an underrated player its depressing how much people discredit him. Almost every tournament hes ever played in he has placed top 8 and gets knocked out by amazing players.

Choya, just so he can troll Artosis and get an instant seed into Code S.

To Lose:

Liquid Tyler, despite him being my favorite player of all time something needs to trigger this guy to realize he has to practice, hopefully yet another bad placing can finally motivate this guy to claim his rightful throne of the best Protoss in the world.

To win:

Huk- My fanboyism aside, I think it would be a cool story for a player to take a "triple crown" of foreigner tournaments in a row. He is also probably one of the hardest working non Korean players, and it is nice to see hard work pay off.

qxc- It was so sad to see him go by the wayside in the last 6th months after showing so much potential. Hopefully he proves himself again, especially with his spirits lifted following his recent GSTL performance.

KawaiiRice- This guy gets no credit. He trains very hard is constantly on the fringe of success in major tournaments, but loses often to his rather awful TvP. His TvT and TvZ are extremely strong though, and he recently posted a win over ZeNexCoca in the recent TL:Open in convincing fashion, with an innovative double fast expand build. If he can patch up his TvP he is a solid contender in international play, as his mechanics and micro are extremely good.

To Lose:

Destiny- I agree that destiny has improved greatly, and as a player he is entertaining and innovative in his infestor play, but if he performs strongly at this MLG the din of his fanboy trolls, who have a proclivity for spamming stream chats, will be incessant.

Win:
1.HuK. Favorite player
2.TLO/Tyler. Probably long shots to win it but I like both of their personalities
3.Any Korean trained player. Them winning proves that SC2 still takes a lot of practice hours to get get good, which some feared would be lost from BW.

Lose:
1.IdrA. A little bit biased because I'm a HuK fan but I don't like his personality and his fanboys. I honestly usually laugh when he loses
2.Destiny. I don't really like him as a person and feel that he should suck it up and join a team to get some real practice.
3.Anyone not in it 100%. Pretty much anyone who doesn't want to put in the hours of real practice to be the best. (I know Tyler fits into this but I like him so w/e)

Hope to do well:
Slush cause hes been doing good at all the events but this time I want him to win it.
Catz cause hes a top zerg in NA and he doesn't have a top16 spot although hes better than some of the players that are in there.
Lzgamer cause he just changed race and I want to see how well the zerg race will suit him in sc2.

Hopes to fail:
Any Koreans, I want foreigners to win this.
Also any deathball protoss that A-moves and win....I hate that.

It would be great to see an underdog win at this tournament. But with so many matches going on, it will be hard.

I'd have to agree with the point you made about spanishiwa, but really, you get that kind of praise from anyone who hasn't seen the full picture, and it is depressing how many people only stick to one caster and don't think to stray from youtube.

I'll also have to disagree for the same reasons on destiny. If he tells one of his student's a build is unbeatable, the community calls it the "destiny 4gate". If destiny uses an overpool in a match, people make a thread titled "destiny's 11pool 18hatch". And it is disgusting how he manages to make only infestors and succede, even as a zerg player. It feels like I, as well as many a player better than me, take steps to break down a match-up, hard work to descipher what is best and what isn't, and destiny just steps in and says "INFESTORS!" it feels like he is the new cruncher, making the race look easy and begging for a nerf. I really hope infested terrans get removed soon so you can't take down a freeking planatary with a support caster.

My 3 to succede:
Pheonix, watching this guy stream is so entertaining, and he makes zerg look strait imba with his fast 3 hatch style.
IdrA: say what you will about his attitude but he deserves another win in my book.
Bandanaman: you've probably heard of why.

3 to fail:
The koreans: I want team USA to take this one hot off of + Show Spoiler +
qxc's all kill

Spanishiwa: same reasons as OP
Destiny: surprise surprise

Destiny isn't even bad, he uses infestors because they are good there are ppenty of things that can counter infested terrans, like a bunker in front of you base and a missle turret or the range upgrade. He is so good simply for his unit control ( comes into a protoss deathball
, that has collo, stalker, sentry, ht, voids, zealots. He has 20 infestors and 120 lings, comes out with 12 infestors 20 lings and a dead protoss, with broodlords/ ultras or a huge reinforcement of lings. So don't talk shit that sad about someone who is clearly favouring they're own style ( something most people don't do) and winning with it

As for ky top 3
1: destiny
2:IdrA
3:spanishiwa

Top 3 to not win : all the korean players ( the three who will most likely win)

1) DRG-- excellent player, deserves to win
2) HuK-- Canadian.
3) MMA- he's had some bad results lately. would like to see him do well
4) koreans in general so that foreigners with huge egos (e.g. destiny, idra) will stfu and realize how far from the top they are
to fail:

1) idra- terrible attitude, absolutely clueless about balance. he's one of the top foreigners, but he just can't deliver lately and his whining just makes me hate him even more
2) destiny- he's okay, but nothing special. pretty much the definition of why infestors need to be revamped. but i don't mind that so much as the fact that he's one of the most annoying people to listen to talk on his stream + his fanboys are extremely bad and irritating.
3) incontrol- awful, overrated, and sucked totally at casting NASL. this guy needs to stop playing sc2.
4) Haypro- even worse than incontrol
5) Drewbie- garbage

Succeed:

DRG. Hearing a crowd of people chant the name of a foreigner (to us!) at the NASL finals damn near blew my mind. I'd like to see DRG take it just to see another foreigner take a major tournament and be celebrated by thousands of screaming fans from several countries he probably hasn't visited before.

Liquid Tyler. Dude's smart. Real smart. I'd love to see him knuckle down and kick ass.

Fail:

Destiny, because when Destiny fails, it usually means everyone else gets a good laugh. Hopefully on the mainstage.

Rooting for:
Machine - I just want to see him do well in a tourney
Tyler - cause he's a boss, and also is due for some winning
Vibe - he always seems to do well, but never terrific. He needs to have a breakthrough.

Not really rooting against any one in particular. I guess I would like to see foreigners defeat koreans just so the stereotypes can be broken.

A hope to fail category? Seriously? This will only promote hating and negativity.. Not impressed. Should replace that with a dark horse category..
