This is seriously heartbreaking, Puma was plugging TSL and showing real TSL pride when he was in the NASL grand finals. The fact that EG approached Puma, I can't blame them but...wow.
THIS IS PURE SPECULATION FROM THIS POINT OUT: Puma probably talked to the TSL coach about it, maybe even said he was considering the offer, but I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that EG is actively trying to pull Puma off his team. I can see the Korean coaches being very upset at any sign of doubt within their team. Still...EG...

If what Artosis said on the last SotG about top-tier Koreans getting stuck in profitless contracts with teams, then perhaps Puma is simply being assertive with what he wants.
|
Wasn't TSL the first Korean team to have salaries? If that's the case, EG must have really ponied up the big bucks.

If they stole or pried away Puma while he was at NASL and Puma was under contract at the time, that's really, really disappointing. This will discourage teams from sending players to events in fear of international teams trying to steal players away.
If TSL is lying or this isn't true, then I take it back, but this could really damage what has been a really good partnership between the international tournaments and Korean teams.
It could. Maybe Korean teams will be afraid of sending their players out if they're going to be poached by foreign teams during their trip.

What on earth is "sleazy" about talking to a player about possibly recruiting them?
If anything is sleazy here it's TSL throwing a hissy fit and releasing Puma. Unless Puma actually made a deal with EG already.
I understand that this forum is rampant with "Korea > all" mentality, but why on earth are people supporting "Korean e-sports etiquette" that basically treats players as chattel slaves to their management?

omg the world is going upside down, THE RAPTURE SI COMING GUYS !

I hope people appreciate the way FXO operates, especially after seeing these shaddy moves by EG and SK.

If the team or the coach was never notified that EG was in contact with Puma there's a good chance he was out of contract. People should take a deep breath and wait for a bit more information

EG has decent players? Idra. Ok, name me another please. EG is trash compared to any korean team.

EG is good? How come? The only guy that is getting results is Idra. Demuslim, Incotrol, Machine, Axslav are average right now at MAXIMUM.

Lol at all the overreacting. You have no information so far, chill out.

Oh my ... This is huge. Well poached EG, that is one fine player you scored there

SirScoots was in a discussion about this yesterday actually on Weapon of Choice - They brought on Alex from SK-gaming, who did a similar thing - They talked to a Fnatic-team player about their interest, told the player that he should give up his contract with Fnatic, and then immediately join SK-gaming, to avoid paying the transfer.. lol.. Now I know why SirScoots was so quiet in that discussion :D

Holy shit EG is officially the Yankees of SC2, Scoots is like a living George Steinbrenner.
|
Lift the weight off Idra's shoulders a bit.
|
I don't know, to me it felt like this was brewing in TSL for a while before, from their tweets regarding NASL they always said something along the lines of "Cheer for Alive!" or "Alive is going to do well!" never any mention of Puma from what i recall :/
|
Theres 2 sides to this story, we're only hearing the side from the angry, emotional coach who just lost his best player. I shall refrain from judging either party until more details are released.
|
Did anyone else hear Scoots say "Well then I need to recruit me some Pumas" on Live On Three a few days ago?
wwwwwwwhhhat
|
LOL EG?
Why does this suprise anyone?
