Page 26 and onwards I will issue at least two day bans to anyone who clearly has not read the original topic post and the explanations contained therein. He was barred access to the event days before the actual event took place and used some random diamond player his account to try and get in anyway.

Leave the racial bias at the door while you are at it as well pretty please.

Together, against the world.

Smurfing and lying about it = keeping it real? Real assholish I suppose.

Major doesn't act nice to impress anyone, he plays to win, to win the moolah.

He's the badboy of South America, Starcraft 2 division.

Wasn't Haypro caught MHing in BW? Isn't he on TLAF? Funny how things work out.

TT1 was. Haypro used it accidentally.

Lol, how do you accidentally use a mh? ;s Anyone know the backstory on that?

In his eyes the only mistake he committed was getting caught, this is clear from his previous actions, he's an all around douchebag, who cares if he "loves" the game?

It supports the SEA community directly? For example, if there were to be a league in SEA that has a 50k prize pool every month, then there would be more SEA players who would try to get good enough to win them, and teams may arise from there (if not SEA players just joining SEA teams, or new ones forming).

Isn't this the exact same argument people have over inviting koreans to MLG/NASL/etc?? And it's been widely agreed that it's much better to open up tournaments for everyone who wants to participate no matter where they live/are born/currently play?

I'm pretty sure it's largely agreed that inviting koreans is a good decision, and it's the same issue here. I'm all for limiting people based on whether or not they are pros/what league they're in just so it's not a massive skill level difference, but not letting major participate just because he's not from SEA is a silly decision in general.

Allowing Koreans to compete in major foreign tournaments is nothing like having Major smurf his way through a SEA tournament made to grow the seen.

Dox can do whatever he wants with his own money. Also, I've reread your post over 3 times and I can't find the justification for your conclusion that it's a "silly decision in general". The only argument you've provided is that "it's been widely agreed", which is an appeal to popularity. I don't like it when people state a conclusion of which they have adduced nothing for.

he acted like a fuck like he always does. he should, like combatex and some others, be punished for breaking the rules.

let's say i sell trinkets that i hand make to make a living. i have devoted my career to making and selling these trinkets.

the government says no, i can't sell my trinkets on the streets because they want to keep the streets clean and better for pedestrians + traffic.

so instead of finding a permanent store that i can rent/buy, i bitch and scream and organise protests against the government, and keep selling my trinkets on the streets anyway, because i'm a douche like that.

does my need to make a living off selling trinkets justify breaking government law?

you can't say "oh you should let him off because he has to make money and resorting to this should be understandable"... if that is the case, maybe he should find another way to supplement his income.

maybe you should look up the definition of mistake.

An error or fault resulting from defective judgment, deficient knowledge, or carelessness.

This was no mistake, he knew exactly what he was doing. He's done it before in the past, and he will do it again.

It's not like its his first time smurfing an event either. Back in Broodwar he pretended to be a girl in the US and smurfed the USA WCG qualifiers and beat jonomanbefore being caught. Total douchebag.

Lol, how do you accidentally use a mh? ;s Anyone know the backstory on that?

Oblivion had more than just a maphack, and had other features that were useful at the time. Haypro was using it for one of those features, and was caught and put on the hackers list. I believe the oblivion hack had some observer features that made it enjoyable to watch people play

will you suffer the consequences if you get caught? yes. but sometimes you have to take the risk. i'm not taking his side, he should be punished, but i understand why he sometimes does these things.

You dont suffer consequences in esports if your caught....thats why shit like this keeps happening, occasionally a few people get banned, but most people appear to have 'get out of jail free' passes. There's a history of cheating and abusing tournaments from high level players in sc2 and sc1, and most of them never have consequences. What consequences does major get for this? What consequences did Kawaii and lastshadow get when Kawaii helped him cheat to win wcg 2009 qualifiers against a bunch of people, including machine? This community is way too tolerant most of the time....

so you support athletes taking steroids to win because they need to play that sport to make a living? the idea is that we need to do things according to rules. tournament organizers who put money into esports can and should have control over who can participate in their tournaments and its not like their rules were unreasonable.

Because I honestly cannot understand how it isn't obvious to everyone that having the most skill in your tournament = having the best tournament? It's his money, he can do what he wants, sure... but that doesn't mean what he's doing makes any sense, he only hurts the validity of what he's hosting. Why he would ever want to put forth money to make something and then blatantly chose to not have it be the best it can be.

No it doesn't hurt the validity of anything.

He's not saying that it's "Dox's world starcraft 2 championship tournament." It's a SEA tournament, the point of which is to encourage the SEA scene to be more competitive. If he let anyone sign up, then there won't be a single SEA player in the top 25, and then it will be a fail of a "community builder" which is the type of event that it is meant to be.

He's a dick, but a good player. Don't pay him for his placing in the tournament and be done with it. to be fair, it says SEA acc. owner.
