RootPrincess/SixjaxMajor caught smurfing in tourny - Page 65

Page 26 and onwards I will issue at least two day bans to anyone who clearly has not read the original topic post and the explanations contained therein. He was barred access to the event days before the actual event took place and used some random diamond player his account to try and get in anyway.

Leave the racial bias at the door while you are at it as well pretty please.

The fact that this total non-issue has spawned a thread 63 pages long really makes me sad. I simply cannot be convinced that this is even a tiny issue. What do people want? A public apology? Major to be removed from sixjax? This isn't a scandal, nothing even remotely egregious happened. It's a small time up-and-comer being an ass in an inconsequential tournament. I don't condone his actions, but Jesus, let things take their course. People have been made aware of the situation. Stop harping on it.

This. It's like every member of TL is a white knight, who wants absurdly hyperbolic punishment for slight form of bad behaviour. This just shows how stupid some people are. This thread really gone too far, way too far.

The only problem is that the community basically wants some kind of apology or punishment. If he gets off free then he would just continue doing these actions knowing that there will be minimal repercussions at best. People argue that the management of sixjax shouldn't be blamed, but what I'm really worried about is if this continues then more people are just going to call sixjax as a whole garbage. As much as I like Artosis, the sixjax management team needs to keep a smaller leash on sixjaxmajor. If actions like this continue without some form of public apology (and possibly eventual punishment) then it goes to show that the management team on sixjax are condoning these activities.

garbage in what sense? even though I don't really follow sc2, last I heard, their lineup is very strong in NA, at least.

I meant in morals, not in play-style. They've also been under the radar lately imo.

Back on topic though, most people are just going to argue because major doesn't show any remorse for his actions.

The attempt at circumventing tournament rules isn't as big of a deal in my eyes. Sure, it's a mean thing to do, and deserves some sort of punishment, but doesn't warrant a response of the caliber of a 65 page thread on TL.

What really shocked me were the screenshots of Major's conversation with Dox, and his subsequent posts in this thread. From these, I can only deduce that Major is either a complete idiot (cheating with his stream on, lying in a thread where a number of people can easily call him out on it) or a huge, huge troll, doing all of this just for kicks.

Looking over this thread and having watched majOr play, I see a whole lot of bias against a player that people are not familiar with. I've seen majOr streaming and his playing ability is incredibly good. Good enough to make the finals in a tournament like MLG. So please, don't keep saying that, it's silly.

As to this specific event, though, I think majOr has already received his punishment. He is out $350 because he decided to try and bend the tournament rules (which were not stated explicitly in the original forum post). In retrospect, not a smart move. Either way, he has been punished and to expect more is a little silly.

What's the point of putting him down more? The repercussions from his actions have already shown themselves -- he lost a lucrative tournament invitation and is out a first place prize pool. That's his punishment. I dare say that smarts more than having to apologize to a bunch of people on the TeamLiquid forums.
After all this time, I still haven't figured out the correlation between sexual orientation and beating an unprepared opponent. Are homosexuals the next koreans? Many players seem to think it's an unfair advantage. - pandaburn

So all I've gathered from this thread is sixjax's stance on the issue

1. cheating in an SEA isn't really an issue because people from SEA in the SC2 community are "small potatoes"
2. major thinks hes better than everyone other than moonglade from SEA
3. sixjax punishment for their player disrespecting an entire portion of the globe "he was giving a harsh talking to"

SixJax should drop Major.. douche move on his part.
He was told not to play - did anyway then BM'd the channel.
my opinion for SixJax would be sooo negative - if Artosis wasn't a part of it..

Major is kind of an idiot trying to say that someone visiting Korea cant play because they r not a citizen? Citizen means where from not where located. Poor Major, give up on pro gaming if you need to lie into off realm tournies for chances of winnings
where's the rants n flames section?

He broke the tournament rules clearing knowing that he can't enter after being told so several times.

You think merely DQ'ing from a tournament that he wasn't supposed to be play in in the first place is a punishment? I highly disagree.

Major has been pulling this sort of crap since his bw days and hasn't changed a thing about his immaturity because he's been able to get away with it like this. Whatever SJ told him clearly didn't work since he was here making up more lies and trying to justify his actions just hours later.

Yea imo this guy is just a cheating scam artist, nothing but a thief who doesn't have the balls to go out and do it with a gun. Instead he plays a video game online and attempts to commit fraud by taking a tournament prize he was directly told not to be a part of, and did while breaking so many obvious rules, like smurfing being against blizzard user agreement rules. Like who in their mind would think a tournament would be cool with you doing something that is illegal, ie breaking blizzards user contract and using someone else's account? He was clearly trying to steal dox's money. shame. I can't see how anyone, including sixjax, would think this is behavior that's warrants anything less than a harsh boot from the team.

I'm pretty sure if my job found out I send mail to people saying I was the tax collection agency they need to pay or entered high school cash prize tournaments, I would be unceremonially fired.

Sorry if it is not my place to ask this, but in the interests of showing that it has been dealt with fully, can a mod edit into the OP the responce from evoli (p55)?

Major has always been this type of person, I guess people who weren't familiar with him in sc1 this comes to a surprise but I am not at all shocked that he would conduct himself like this. He is a good player dont get me wrong but hes trash. Not only did he try to cheat but when he got caught he started flaming the guy who is just doing his job.

Might as well join the bandwagon and increase post-count +1 since that's all TL seems to be nowadays?

This is easily the worst online community i've seen. the pretending that goes on here.. wow.
