Page 26 and onwards I will issue at least two day bans to anyone who clearly has not read the original topic post and the explanations contained therein. He was barred access to the event days before the actual event took place and used some random diamond player his account to try and get in anyway. Leave the racial bias at the door while you are at it as well pretty please.

He was clearly told that he could not play, but cheated anyway (why he streamed I have no idea). I don't care if it's a "small event", cheating is cheating.

About a month after release, they credited all SEA accounts with a free NA account because parts of the SEA community get better latency to NA (and speak [relatively ![]() Edited for typos.

Care to elaborate? I'm also curious about how a lengthy "discussion" about an apparently controversial topic is an indicator of a bad online community. People have opposing views about whether MajOr should be punished or not for his actions, and this naturally leads into discussing smurfing along with protectionism (regionally locked tournaments, league exclusive tournaments, etc). I find it relieving that the majority feel it's a reprehensible action to enter a tournament under a false identity when told to not enter. Until gaming is taken more seriously by bigger corporations (with lawyers), like MLG, GSL, etc, most of the decisions about how to perceive and punish certain actions will be largely based on the overall morality of the gaming community. It's easy to dismiss bending/breaking rules in small tournaments because there tends to be difficulty in enforcement, as well as relatively small repercussions when considering the risk (or lack of). I'm pretty sure that the direction in which SC2 is heading will still be largely sponsor based and when it gets to the point where players are signing legal contracts to play in tournaments of all sizes I have no doubt there will be actions taken left and right. Until then (which is where people realistically see SC2 if it goes "mainstream"), our stances on said actions will be what define the moral grounds upon which players will be judged. Therefore I think it's pretty important that people take a definitive stance on what is acceptable or not, and the discussion of these issues becomes that much more significant in the gaming community.

"It's too bad it happened. I'm gonna try to not let it happen again, man." Oh wow. It sounds like Artosis is genuinely sorry about it. I feel bad for him having to take flak for something major did. He is team captain though, which is one reason I really find Major's actions reprehensible- he casts mud on his teams name. It's not fair to them, but hey they signed him, and they can/should get rid of him if he continues to act so dishonestly/disrespectful to tournament organizers. Especially those willing to put out their own money for a community.

The manager of sixjax even states that he has spoken with her about her choice of words before. I guess when you are pretty good at the game you get more leeway.

Also, Major did well at MLG, thats it. one big tournament success doesnt make him a top player
