That's their choice, not we hindering them.. There are some really good esports ladies in sweden, it's just that we got MANY good guys that they kinda get overshadowed. There is a female CS tournament at DH for one thing. EDIT: Yep, a TV show pairing up hot young kpop starts with powerful men sure sounds sexist.

Regardless of how well she can actually play, this is clearly a publicity move. That in itself wouldn't be too bad but: 1. It appears like a demonstration of equal opportunities and emancipation while 2. subversively reinforcing chauvinistic stereotypes by associating womens success with their appeal to men. So it's not just sexist, it even disguises itself as the opposite. It puts womens success at the mercy of their appeal towards men, which is one of the most subtle and unfair prejudices towards women. And you cannot tell me that her looks and appeal to men did not play a role in her recruitment. They could have picked thousands of other girls. And if one tries to argue that one has to pick from the thousands of girls by some aspect, then making it her looks reinforces the picture of the dominance of male interest whether you want it or not. The people here saying that her looks are not important are making it even worse, because they are acting as if this issue did not actually exist. Even if she plays well, it still reinforces the stereotype that only women who appeal to men can be successful. And the same is true for TossGirl. You should rethink your enthusiasm. SlayerS_Jessica is the one who scouted her so you're pretty much wrong.

SlayerS_Jessica herself scouted based on her skills and looks. Joining the team in their game vs TSL in week 4 of 2011 GSTL Season 1 Jupiter league, she said, "I am very happy to join such a respected professional gaming team SlayerS." She also added that she played the original game in elementary school where she mained Terran, and her choice has subsequently remained the same. She said she is a fan of MMA and looks forward to practice with her new teammates and become an integral part of the team. You maybe be able to see her play in GSTL. SlayerS has expressed that they plan to field her this season. This kind of makes you wonder whether shes a real pro or sadly just a diamond/master poster-girl for the slayers team...

Now the rest of the world will have to step his game to. I can't believe that in Sweden there is no girl playing SC2. Go Go feminism, let's change the world. The reason for no girls playing sc2 is twofold. 1.) social structure, I think the gaming stigma is even worse for women than men, discouraging them to play, decreasing the available player pool. 2.) men are the outliers, there are more stupid men than women, but there are also many more incredibly intelligent men than women. This is not sexism this is factual. I'm not saying that women can't be just as smart as men, I'm just saying that there is less of them. So the chances of finding a girl who can play at the level of the top males is incredibly small, not only is the natural pool of talent smaller, but social structure makes it absolutely minuscule. Even if feminism was 100% successful and there were equal males and females playing sc2 the top level would still be more men than women, feminism can't change nature. It will be truly amazing if this eve is competitive at the top level and I would be happy to see it.
