I think that DRG group is the hardest for the 4 koreans attending, he has to go against huk(his PvZ his best matchup) and Naniwa(PvZ is not his best matchup but he should still be a tough opponent) and DRG ZvP his not as good as his ZvT.... the other 3 koreans have easier groups, Boxer only challenge will be idrA.
Ofc we still don't know who will go through the open bracket, but for sure 2 or 3 koreans will get past it.

Huk/Idra/MMA/MVP

I only see DRG losing to Huk and Boxer losing to Idra.

Throw a Korean in a group and it looks so one sided. MMA will dominate his group now questions asked. Despite group A being the "group of death", I can confidently say it will be DRG and then HuK coming out on top. Group B is the biggest toss up IMO. Boxer is actually much stronger then most people realize. His current ZvT form is very good, I think he can take out IdrA and Sheth and place first in it. No comment on the MVP group, just lol.

The other incredible thing is that the top-seeded player to come out of the Open Bracket is the guy who gets placed into Pool A. It's likely that, heading into Anaheim, Tyler will be the top-seeded Open Bracket player. If he can make an undefeated run through the Open, he'll be placed into the same pool as DongRaeGu and his other teammates.

Just thought I'd stack a little bit more hype on here. You can think the MLG Commissioner Anakin for pointing that one out.

Full Open Bracket Roster should be released shortly. We're just waiting on confirmation from a few final players. There are several big names that no one is talking about who will be attending and playing through the Open Bracket.

Hey Kyle,

If Liquipedia is right http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2011_MLG_Pro_Circuit/Rankings then MMA would actually be the #3 seed, right?

Is there any particular reason why he was given a generic "invite" seed as opposed to the #3 seed that he earned from MLG Columbus?

I am just wondering what the official word is, as that would otherwise change the groups quite a bit.

cheers!

I already answered you in the other thread.
MMA is not considered the #3 seed b/c he is attending as a GSL invite. If he took the #3 seed, then he would have to pay for his flight/hotel. MLG only pays for invites (invites are considered the last 4 seeds in pool play). If MMA didn't get an invite, he might not even show up to the tournament (like MC and Losira declined, even though they could have been in the pool). MLG gave MMA the invite b/c the winner deserves to defend his title.

Also note that the pools are permanent. If for some reason MC, Losira, Thorzain, etc... change their minds and attend MLG Anaheim, they will not be given their spot in the pool. They would have to play in the open bracket.

This is correct.

Wow, Pool A is ridiculous. Poor TLO and Haypro.
Idra got very lucky.

I think Huk and Naniwa just died a little inside, I know they would've took all of the Terrans before DRG.

Also nani is #1 seed right? Why would #1 seed from open bracket go there?

Hm... maybe voting for Idra was wrong and I should've voted for Sjow instead.
Looking forward to see what he has become, after training in the team house and being hyped by the korean coaches.

I would love for Naniwa to win and will be rooting for him but I think DongRaeGu will end up first in the pool.

As for the other pools, predicting Idra, MMA, MVP. Will be hoping for Boxer to prove me wrong though.

B/C it's not necessarily the #1 ranked seed, just the seed from section A of the open bracket. Bracket play stops at the semi-finals, so to speak, and resumes in group play.

Mc not here which means idra will do well.

I had a feeling dong was coming when they were discussing it on sotg.

Going to go for
Dong, naniwa
Boxer, idra
Mma, player coming from open
MVP, Select

It wasn't meant to be a super serious post. I was only saying that because Drewbie said he voted for himself (:
