Will the removal of essentially a GM league from the new joined servers mean that masters will have a large boost in ability? And would this effect any of te lower leagues? Or is masters big enough to take the influx of 200GM lvl players on op of the current master lvl players??

Wow, pretty awesome for the Taiwanese, or not.. depends on how you look at it I guess. Will their grandmasters be happy because of all the learning opportunity, or will they be sad because they won't be close to grandmaster anymore?

Why is it a bad thing? Sure you wont be the top of the ladder anymore. But instead you will be able to compete with the best players in sc2

Well im not that happy since i have NA + LA account on the same email. meaning that they will probably erase one of them. So i guess ill have to send them an email to give me an extra cd key or give me my money back for 1 of my accounts.

Read the blog, there is a FAQ on it explaining it. But yes, you can purchase a sc2 for taiwan and play vs korean players in ladder.

Wow, great idea!

I felt like LA and Russia might die due to too few players... even new but unknown maps on big servers like NA are hard to get games to start (custom).

I guess China is big enough itself? Though I played against a CN player on NA and he said he was playing on NA because there weren't enough CN players... maybe CN + Taiwan would have been better, unless SC2 in Korea is really not that big

Pretty sure all Russian speaking countries use it, including Ukraine which is active going by WhiteRa's stream.

In other news, who knew Blizzard was capable of magic?

I thought WhiteRa played on EU?

I wonder how this will affect players in Russia and LA (I believe LA has it as well) who have a $3.49 monthly fee to play the game.

Will it be abolished or will it stay, or will they go crazy and make everyone pay? OMGZ!

Well he has the Russian client atleast then, which seems kinda strange since his English is fine enough

I know this makes sense from a server standpoint, but I think it's a bit of a bad sign actually. I'd imagine the logic for separating NA from LA, Taiwan from Korea, and so on was that there would be enough players in each region to successfully support all leagues at an adequate level. I think this mostly means that LA, Russia, and Taiwan don't quite have the numbers Blizzard was hoping for to justify the duplicate regions on the same servers. I know the game is very popular, I guess it's just not quite as popular in those regions as Blizzard hoped it would be.

From a social perspective, players will be able to create character and Real ID friendships with people from the newly linked region, which they couldn’t have before.
Does that mean what I think it means ? (one free account on RUS server for an EUR person for instance ?)

edit : after rereading I don't think so.

White-Ra plays on EU and players on EU have the option to play in Russian/German/English/French/Spanish.

He just prefers playing in Russian; like how TLO plays in German.

Yea this sounds pretty awesome, I thought they would have included SEA as one of the regions to be tied in with either NA (since they use the same server locations? idk much about this -_-) or KR since its relatively close.

But i guess since the LA region was seriously slacking on player count they just decided to toss it in with NA all together

SEA is in Singapore, LA's server is being held on NA, and Taiwan's server is being held on KR
