Anyway lol @ the sly digs at MLG ^_^ would love them to support eachother more though not take sly digs at eachothers events and way they are produced

They, sly digs? I think you are making stuff up, this is not a blog from Dreamhack, and if you read the chart you can see that MLG was bigger in social media than GSL super tournament.

MLG is mentioned as the only tournament outside Korea that gets anythin close to Dreamhacks figures, wow what a sly dig.

Ermm in my English this is a " sly dig " @ MLG when they say;

Today there is no eSport event outside South Korea that are in the same league as DreamHack. The only one close is Major League Gaming in US, but they still have a few games and the live streaming numbers are not on par with DreamHack yet – the Swedish Pride is still dominating.

Saying they are the biggest eSport event outside South Korea? More viewers than MLG? And that Sweden is still dominationg ^_^ ermmm read between the lines?

Im all for them with friendly comeptition BUT i would not ever like them to get angry with eachother and they start having events on similar times and they start dividing the players up between MLG and DH. The reason they had so many viewers this time because it was literally a GLOBAL range of SC2 Superstars that turned up for that side of the tournament (Not sure about LoL).

I get your point, but I can assure you that my intention was not to make a "sly dig" at MLG. I just wanted in show which success DH Summer was when it comes to live streaming numbers.

I loved MLG Columbus and I loved DreamHack Summer, my intention was never to have a MLG vs DH.

Thats good I like MLG and i like DH, but i also like GSL and IEM events too, i love the fact they are all making such good tournaments for everyone to watch, and the players lists they get keep getting better and better which is amazing. I also try and support as much as possible, buying HD passes etc whenever possible to try and show as much support as possible. Thats why i dont want any rivalries or spite to one another just all happy E-Sports family :D.

Not like FIFA vs UEFA, or every football club vs FIFA kind of crap! That would be terribad

I do agree. Pure Rivalries and bashing each other are not good but healthy competition and inspiration can be good. I really like that MLG, ESL, GSL, DH, IPL, NASL steps up their game when it comes to production.

Just look back a couple of monthes - it was only GSL that had great production value - now all of the leagues look at each other to find things that they can do better to improve - and that is something I really like!

We actually didn't have that many, about 10,000 on the stream for that, mostly because it was really short notice and it clashed with a big game. We did get about 200,000 views for the VoD though so that makes up for it.

good to see so many tbh it doesn't matter about the distribution we should be thinking of eSports as a whole not individual games

you guys should know that the stream for LoL was "in" the client. So, if you started your LoL client - and you probably never heard of esports - your dreamhack stream started automatically.

WRONG

The stream didnt start automatically. you had to klick the play button to start it

and i still dont get why so many people on TL are bitching about LoL

But during that weekend LoL server were frequently down so people unable to play the game were pressing that play button to at least see a game I bet it boosted the viewership a lot.

Boosted viewership from people actually watching? Some sort of witchcraft? No idea why everyone shits on Riot so much for the embedded stream with no autoplay. u mad cuz Riot is x100 better than Blizzard when it comes to esports?

People are not bitching about the company, they're just saying that it gives scewed numbers when it comes to popularity of the games.
Just because there was a huge number of LOL watchers at DH doesn't mean that they actually follow e-sports, and I'd say Starcraft is still the best and biggest esport there is when it comes to popularity.
Blizzard is somewhat of a cock block for their own gaming community though. Especially as activision's in charge..
Who made that decision anyway?
I bet i can maı̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̨̨̨̨̨̨ke you wipe your screen.

Still skeptical about these numbers. After the numbers magic that MLG pulled. Every company will cling to any big number to look good. This is obviously across multiple games. That's not quite as impressive. But it's clear events like these can't exactly put all their eggs in one basket. Although I was quite impressed with the live audience turn out for the finals. That was awesome. And that was enough for me. Sweden sure likes it's video games.

This is not Dreamhack Crew or company speaking, if you read the OP you can clearly see that it's not "Them" (which I interpreted as you refering to Dreamhack) who are writing, but it's a media and marketing expert who is writing a blog, and it's his opinions and not Dreamhacks.

Still, I agree that he is making "sly digs" at MLG. But that doesn't mean that Dreamhack crews go "nyaa nyaa, who's the best?!".

Yaaaaa, no way it's 3 million for just sc2 obviously. In fact I'm pretty sure LoL had the most of that, I'd honestly be shocked if sc2 had anything close to 100-150k unique.

Still cool to see though

Lol what? You think only 3 percent of the unique viewers watched SC2? I'd be shocked if that was the case.

well it was over 87k + at times so sc2 defineately got a lore more than 100-150k unique, probably over 1 million. LoL had the most but they didnt have double as much as starcraft 2. And as The LoL viewers was mainly from the in-game stream itself it probably didnt have that many unique as the game itself is played mainly from hardcore players.
Awesome numbers how ever DreamHack fighting!
EDIT: Oh I hadn't updated the tl thread last minutes didn't realize u alrdy explained it.
