Whilst in Korea, I have made alot of friends, alot of foes, and alot of neutrals. ChoyafOu has been one of those people who have really made an impression on me personally, and I felt it my duty to pay him back and hopefully give him a good impression of not only myself, but foreign e-sports in general.

So, in return for his hospitality with me personally, I have decided to fly him to MLG Anaheim, to play with the FXO team and the foreigners and koreans that are participating in MLG Anaheim.

This is not part of the MLG GSL exchange, but an opportunity for a top class player, as well as a top class person, to compete overseas and get a taste for what its like abroad.

Choya will be wearing an FXO shirt with ChoyafOu written on the back during the event. Please do not assume that Choya has joined FXO, as this is untrue. It is merely a gesture to show his appreciation for me sending him to MLG.

I look forward to Anaheim, and I look forward to seeing Choya all kill MLG

GL HF all!

Regards

Before anyone thinks choyas gonna get owned in the open bracket.... he made it through the last code a qualifiers so that itself shows that choya is probably going to do well at mlg anaheim

I'm very curious to see how he will do, because sometimes it feels like Code A players play bad, but then at the same time many people who struggle to advance from Code A are better than or equal to high-level foreigners.

I think the guy can actually play proper games, he actually even built a nexus in a game on crevasse vs T, and another one after that :o.

but the sad part is he opts to go for 1 base strats most of the time, but all the best choya!

More importantly...moonglade coming?

Glad to hear it. I think Choya is a really under-appreciated player. The results he's been able to put up while also coaching fOu are really impressive. He'll definitely be one of the favorites to make it out of the open bracket.

This is exactly what I was thinking, Open Bracket Tear-up, which is pretty long. Maybe someone should come up with a better phrase for someone who just beasts through the open bracket.

Choya's proven himself to be a good player already by qualifying from Code B, and from being top 20 on the K ladder. Do anyone honestly think that beating a bunch of foreigners is going to prove anything?

MKP is a player capable of sending himself. Also, although a nice guy, he hasn't particularly given me reason. Actually he has won enough money from FXO to pay for MLG But who knows, maybe GSL will send him.

Not the biggest fan of Choya (I think he is an ok player), but from what I've been hearing lately, he's a very nice guy in person, so best of luck to him.

I do certainly love how FXO has been trying to integrate the Korean scene and the foreign scene together. This is really how it should be.

Well it's not enough for me (even if the qualification for code A is quite impressive), i just saw 1 match in code A from him, so i want to see more. When he was in code S, he was not that impressive do you remember?

*Groan*

Neat move by FXO, even if ChoyafOu isn't a particular fan favorite it's good to have more Korean influence (potentially more interesting he's less likely to straight out dominate everyone like an MC).

He has been practicing with us, and has been very kind. Even if he was the worst player in the entire world, I would still send him to MLG...

And he isn't as cheesey as people seem to think. But its the interwebz, so if you do it once, its the first impression and it sticks

Hes actually a code S capable player, except he has to look after 14 gamers and worry about them.

He deserves this.

Nice, we might be able to see how good Choya has gotten over the past few months. MMA got knocked out of Code A as well and he won MLG (not saying choya is as good as mma). really nice gesture by you FXO!

PS: I think it's time for you to make friends with Jaedong and Flash. Give them a copy of sc2 and a good dinner. Perhaps allow some of your players to show Jaedong and Flash the basics of the game. One can dream lol.

FXO should sponsor more Koreans for foreign tournaments then get a cut out of the winnings. Hell, feel free to give me a cut just for coming up with this brilliant idea.

Hmm it'll be interesting to see how well Choya plays at MLG. On one hand he made it through the code A qualifiers when guys like DRG couldn't. On the other hand he got 2-0'd by Check...

Quick burn FXO at the stake for spending his money the way we don't want him to!!!

Anyway, as many have said a very generous offer and at the very least it must say something about Choya for you to do this for him.

It's a great gesture, a lot of people need to get over it. I for one think it's cool that Choya has been reaching out to FXO and that FXO decided to repay that by sending him to Anaheim. You don't have to be a fan of Choya or his play (of which I am neither) to appreciate that.

This is really great news. I've always enjoyed the character of Choya, that guy who always shows up for his team mates, talks to himself in the booth, and like the rest of fOu he's really young and full of potential.

I hope he's 100% over his nerves issues cause the Anaheim crowd is not going to disappoint. Plus it's not like GSL booths where you can't see outside, you get the full view from that booth.

Man I'm gettin all excited just thinking about the next couple weeks.

This will be cool. Choya's style will suit the large amount of matches in the open bracket :D

Hes actually a code S capable player, except he has to look after 14 gamers and worry about them.

He deserves this.

Very kind move by you, but it sounds like he's been really hospitable and helpful to FXO in Korea.

Glad to see kindness being repaid with kindness.

Hope he does well at MLG.

Choya is, hands down, my favorite pro of all time because of his enthusiasm and his willingness to support the members of his team.
This is entirely illogical.

Is there anyone other than Choya who you're interested in mentioning, just as someone who has been really helpful to FXO. I'm guessing you guys are gonna release a long post when you depart with a bunch of thank you's anyways, but just interested in knowing what the Korean response has been overall.

Nice, I feel like Choya is a really cool guy. I disliked him after he played Jinro, and proceeded to allin a bunch and drop to B, but he is one of a handful of coaches who is consistently at the gsl, going into boothes being nice etc. Excited for his trip to the states!

great gesture by fxo, at first when i saw choya in gsl january, i really didn't like him, his allins and shaky play really did not make me think much of him, but i too have grown a fondness over him in the gsl, the way he pats his player's back when they win or gives them a shoulder to cry on when they loose, choya really is a top class person in all of esports and we need more coaches/players like him.

Isn't Choya the guy who talks to himself while playing to keep himself calm? It's going to be amazing to see a guy talking to himself audibly in a Korean while stomping nerds in the open bracket. I'm sure it will draw a crowd. Should be awesome either way. It will be interesting to see how he does.

Happy for Choya... Even MKP once said in his interviews that Choya is very helpful even to other teams. If i can remember it correctly, Choya did arranged practice partners for him during the super tournament.

Heh I was just kidding anyways. I just want to see mkp at a foreign tourney so bad and I don't think gsl will send mkp to this mlg as they're sending enough terrans already if bomber is going to make up for columbus.

I respect your gesture of sending choya as a reward for helping you guys out so much.

More and more a fan of FXOBoSs and FXO with each annoucement.

MLG is starting to look like an adventure video game. The Koreans are like the bosses at pivotal points of the game. Choya is the mini boss of the open bracket. The Korean invites are the mini bosses of the group stages. Only thing is there's no "final boss."

Wow, what a total fucking boss.

My ultimate dream for SC2 esports is a unified international community, primarily meaning that the west and Korea regularly interact without it seeming special in any way (also places like China and Taiwan which have domestic leagues). It's people like you who are able to make that a reality. Thank you.

It's not really cheating, it's just a joke. Pretty sure a guy who was Code S at the time wasn't too bothered about ladder points. It's hardly on the scale of maphacking or what Savior did.

Are you aware that the flipping of a coin is a valid alternative to playing a game and is endorsed by MLG? Players regularly do this in the consolation rank-points matches. How is this different from rock-paper-scissors? Calling it cheating is laughable.

"Cheat" in the most hilarious way possible. It's not like he was exploiting or hacking.

Anyways, much thanks to Boss for this. The more integration the west gets with Korea, the more worldwide play will improve.

Not sure about specific games. It's never happened during the main tournament if that's what you're wondering. Only after players are eliminated with no money on the line and only MLG rank points as the reward, some players will view the extra 30 minute of rest after a grueling more valuable than a few extra points.

I'm not a fan of 1 base or 2 base play.. but damn this guy really makes them look good... really elaborated and really entertained to watch... one of my best matches is still the one vs Nestea in Scraps station where he made one void ray to kill the ovie who was watching the nexus while he made 5 gates.... Nestea was dead... but somehow he managed to hold that one with roaches.

Thanks FXO I love what your are doing for Esports.

Are you aware that Rock Paper Scisor stuff is forbidden by Blizzard in the ToS ? He stole ladder points, and you may be aware of the ladder point's importance in Korea.

I'm actually really surprised as I did not see this relationship coming. Choya always stood out for me cause he was the main coach for FoU yet not only is he still a player but is so young.

I'm interested in seeing how he does, although I'm not rooting for him.

Wait, I thought it was some other player that was banned from GSTL (just for a season)?

And anyways, yeah a lot of people do that... it is a bit wrong to cheat the ladder system though, but unless it was in Blizzard's ToS or something, I don't think they should have banned him from that season without a warning first.

Well this was unexpected. I guess it's fair to say that Choya isn't exactly the most popular of the Korean players, but this should be a great experience for him. Props to FXO for this move.

I just hope he doesn't get trampled over by Boxer fans rushing to get autographs or something...

This is probably the only move from FXO that i have completely not understood. Calling Choya a top class player just seems wrong. Yes he is a good coach. But he will get absolutely stomped @ mlg and he should.
If korea's worst beats our best then were doing a lot of things wrong. gl to him and FXO.

My other thought is that FXO did want another coach for the Mental part of the game. If they brought a long choya for coaching and expertise then this would make complete sense too me.

Boss is sending Choya specifically because he has been a great friend to Boss and FXO while they are in Korea. It's a gesture of friendship and thanks. It has nothing to do with any of the other speculations, and isn't a "move".

Yeah, seriously. Although Rainbow didn't go through the recent code a qualifiers, he used to be code A and he is already #13 GM on NA ladder, and he is able to pull off crazy/troll strats such as making 5 bunkers to contain a protoss on 1 base and proceed to build 2 CCs and land them in the protoss's base to turn them into PFs... or like proxying a barracks on shakuras TvZ, lift the barracks into the low ground where there are rock-protected bases, to nuke at the edge of the zerg's main from the low ground...

Choya made through the Code A qualifier, twice.
Choya is top 20 KR ladder.
So yeah he probably could do pretty well on MLG..In terms of skill level he's probably much better than moon and most of the foreigners.

Wow I just can't say how completely wrong you are in this post, choya is not near one of Koreas worst...hes a professional player and a coach, and impressive feat in itself, I don't see him getting stomped at all, I think he has a very good chance making it out of the open bracket.

Sorry but I mean, your post just really makes a lot of wrong points towards Choya, The Korean scene and MLG.

I'm not really a big fan of choyafou but he has made it though the code a qualifiers so I'm sure he will do well in the open brackets of MLG. If not, it will definitely give him an idea of how the foreign scene run things and a good experience overall.

You are totally misinterpreting the reasons behind FXO sending Choya despite it being clearly states. Also, while I am sure FXO wants Choya to do well, how he performs is in some ways irrelevant to the spirit behind the move.

Virtuoso of the Void Ray and some decent 2 base allins. He's super predictable, yet still manages to make it through code a qualifiers.

While I'm not familiar with Choya (I tend to focus more on foreign players/tournaments), I think this is pretty awesome, and I'll definitely have to keep an eye out for him in the open bracket now. Will be interesting to see how he does.

Wow that's a classy move, almost every player in Korea seems to be thanking Choya for helping them with their preparation. Remember that Choya is a playing coach , who helps numerous team and yet he still manages to get some decent results ( qualyfying through the code A qualifiers is already a good results in itself).

I foresee these events.

- FXOboss brings choya to US
- Choya feels grateful
- 1 week later, Choya orders his entire FOU team to practice with FXO

- ????

- 1 month passed. FXO TOTAL BALLERS.

Say whatever you want about Choya, what Boss is doing here is awesome. It's helping the scene in general, having Koreans at foreign tournaments is a good thing, this is also good for fOu as a whole as their coach is going to be exposed to the foreign world and hopefully learn something cool while he's here.

Not only that, but he is building a bridge between foreigners and Koreans and even more so he is repaying a friend for his effort.

Boss FTW!!!!

he had pretty uninspiring play last time i saw him but that was like back in season 3. apparently a good guy in person though, I think he will make it through the open bracket and be a really tough match up for any top pros he runs into.

Choya's proven himself to be a good player already by qualifying from Code B, and from being top 20 on the K ladder. Do anyone honestly think that beating a bunch of foreigners is going to prove anything?

Well it's not enough for me (even if the qualification for code A is quite impressive), i just saw 1 match in code A from him, so i want to see more. When he was in code S, he was not that impressive do you remember?

Being in Code S is impressive.

I dont understand the people saying they do not like this decision. Please learn to READ topics before you post. Hes doing this out of the kindness of his heart for a person he holds in high regard, not because he thinks hes sending MLG their next champion. They clearly have created a mutually beneficial relationship while in Korea and Boss is doing this as a thank you gesture to Choya.

If you think this is a bad idea, either A. You didnt read the original post, or B. You are an idiot.

The competition just keeps getting better for MLG Anaheim :D :D :D

So, if we go from past example, it is safe to assume they will and Idra will get 2-0'd.

Good gesture and I hope he does well, but I'm really glad this is not part of the GSL exchange, as I don't think Choya is a top level player.

My other thought is that FXO did want another coach for the Mental part of the game. If they brought a long choya for coaching and expertise then this would make complete sense too me.

TheBestfOu, BitbybitPrime and... who else is worse then Choya? IM not saying that being a professional player and a coach isn't impressive. Of course it is. If BoSs wants to do it as a friendship thing then all the power too him lol. But if Choya 4gates his way through all the foreigners and open bracket then thats a really bad sign as far as the foreigners skill level

Choya made through the Code A qualifier, twice.
Choya is top 20 KR ladder.
So yeah he probably could do pretty well on MLG..In terms of skill level he's probably much better than moon and most of the foreigners.

I would really be interested too see who he had to qualify through given that the people who knocked him out of Code A were not that good. Obviously as artosis says the Code A qualifiers are super hard so obviously its a feat but until i see the people he played against if there is any then...

Top 20 KR ladder doing 4 gates... yeah we dont have anyone like that on the NA Ladder...

He could do well at MLG but i guarentee there isn't anyone in the foreigner scene who is say "oh crap Choya is coming ... i better watch out" If anyone has watched the GSL (which they all have) they will know that CHoya will do a 4 gate or a 2 base allin.

Well he made it through code A qualifiers, which is harder than the MLG open bracket. I think Choya's performance is going to be interesting in terms of the foreigner/korean arguement. So far all we've seen are the best Korean's vs the best foreigners, but I want to see what level of foreigner, if any at all is able to, it will take to beat Choya.

I wouldn't bother looking for reasons for why Boss wants to send him. He's given reasons in the op, and I'm inclined to believe him.

I don't think so. The liquid oGs partnership came about because the Liquid players needed somewhere to live and practice. FXO have the GOM house and, from what qxc has said, I don't think they're planning on being in Korea for more than a for more than a few months, although I guess if some of them wanted to stay maybe they might end up staying with fOu.

I'd guess that Choya has probably helped Boss and the FXO guys settle in, and given them some help in setting up a proper Korean practice regime. Maybe he's got the fOu guys to practice with them as well.

Disagree. We've seen a lot of cases of Code B/A Koreans dominating foreign events, such as Moon and Ace. I think Choya is certainly stronger than Moon, and about on par with Ace, although he does have a more cheesy playstyle. People say the same shit about Rain: "Oh, he's so terrible, no foreign team will want him, he's worse than most foreigners". It's just not true. Qualifying for code A is about a thousand times harder than making it out of any MLG open bracket, so I don't see him having too much trouble unless he runs into a Strelok or somebody. He may not win the tournament, but he's still going to be one of the 10 best players at it.

Hey Boss, your fellow the Killers fan here lol.

I just wanted to point out that I just LOVE what you are doing, for the Starcraft community and... well yeah everything else.

On topic: I hope Choya will do well in MLG. I know he has the potential.

I've been a big fan of FXO ever since I saw Karl pulling off multiple cannon rushes on ladder (like a boss... oh wait...) and I hope you are able to keep up the good work.

Also please keep streaming... I just love it. Stupid timezones make it so that I can only follow like an hour before you go for dinner and sleep though..., oh well.

Thanks so much for all that you're giving us and remember...,

If this guy does top 4 at MLG it's really bad news for the level of foreigners... Being raped by guyz like Bomber, Losira, MMA or July no problem they're the best in Korea but if the average players like Choya get to dominate foreigners in the same way, it's just gonna be sad...

Wow, can't say I was expecting this. I think this is awesome, but I'm also conflicted.

I guess since I have some claim to #1 fanboy for FXOpen at the moment, I have to admit I'm a bit of a Choya Anti-Fan.

Now, let's do a quick reminder why this is:

- In TV matches, he tends to do a lot of 1-base rushes that are either succeed or lose. This normally isn't a fan winner a lot of the time unless it's always at new timings/new versions.

- He made it big during GSL Open Season 3 and met Jinro in Ro8. This was a not insignificant match for all of TL. As a budding SC2 fan at this point, it was a really big moment. Choya was on the other side of that.

Also, he played Game 5 against Jinro on Desert Sands, and Jinro eked out a win in a razor's edge 20+ minute game. (Jinro got the only TvP win on that map in the entire GSL Season 3 there) So, there's a lot of antagonism there.

- Then Choya stood between Huk and Code S. Inca has probably the world's best PvP, so we all knew it was going to be Huk vs Choya for the Code S spot. So, Choya got more unlucky, running into another TL player in GSL.

So, there's a solid reason for some antagonism around these parts. It's not BitByBit hatefulness, but we spent two separate GSLs rooting against him.

Still, what you're doing is really awesome. From what everyone has said about him, he's a really awesome guy. I wish him well @ MLG Anaheim. Choya actually seems like a strong LAN tournament player, given he qualified for 2 GSL Opens & Code A qualifier. So he might actually be stronger at MLG than in the GSL. It's not unheard of.

Make sure to say Hi from everyone at TL for us!

The code A qualifier way more than "quite impressive." It's basically every Korean GM player that isn't in code A or code S, and is so much harder than open bracket. There's no chance of facing any platinum or diamond players at their first event. The open bracket is long but in no way is it considered hard. There isn't really a deep pool of talent in it. That's why you rarely see a no name player make it out, and you see new code A players all the time.

He won't. He's good, but getting out of the Open brackets could be really rough for him, it's going to depend who he draws in rounds 5 & 6. Then if he makes it to the group stages, I don't think he's winning any of the groups.

He'll likely place above 15th, but MLG can be brutal if you don't make it to the Pool play.

P.S. Does FXO_Slog know *everyone* in Korea? Seems like when any progamer in question comes up, Slog knows them. He's like a Human Contacts List or something, lol.

average player?

this guy beat mvp in season 3 to get round of 8 and BARELY lost to jinro 2-3 partly because he forgot thermal lance

then he got another gsl ro8

hell, the guy who took him out of code s was none other then huk

choya is anything but average

did you even read the post? choya isn't part of the gsl/mlg exchange.

and don't fucking diss boxer man, you aren't part of the starcraft community for all im concerned if you think that just because he's not playing well he's not gonna be a huge attraction for everybody, minus fuckers like you, because you dont fucking know starcraft.

youre lucky you get koreans at all, in bw it was mainly the korean scene, hardly any foreign competition at all. you don't know what you're talking about.

but seriously, don't fucking diss boxer.

GL HF all!

Exciting news. I think that Choya is an underrated player and could possibly do quite well. Really interested to see how a player who is not regarded as one of the top players for his race in Korea perform in a foreign tournament.

More like, Choya having a good time in Anaheim and then "buttering up" his team to attend some foreign events. Thats what I'm getting excited about.

I'm curious, does FXO literally shit money or something? They've hosted and paid for numerous tournaments, they've obtained a property in Malaysia that was potentially going to be a team house, they're paying for an entire team of players to fly everywhere and then their manager just casually decides to send a korean that's been forthcoming and pleasant to him to an MLG event.

. He is rich. But he is also a smart businessman so I am pretty certain he is not just trowing money away. SCII is a great hobby, and probably not that expensive.

I can't say for certain if this is a business strategy on Boss' part. I do know that he is pretty generous with his time, so I wouldn't be surprised if this were a one off thing to show his appreciation. Either way, class move imo.

FXOBoss has the most appropriate nickname in the world. Like a fucking BOSS.

1) Send your team to Korea
2) Meet nice Koreans
3) Pay for them to compete in MLG
4) sup son ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That's cool. Choya may not be the best player but he seems like a nice person.
And what FXO does for SCII cannot be appreciated enough. Good luck for all future events.

Choya is a cool guy, too many of you complain that he doesn't play the way you like. If it bothers you so bad go buy a pass and beat him. Very cool to see the Korean interest in MLG. I cant wait to see how many show up for that 50K in RI.

this is great, i love this kind of stuff, I'm loving FXO.

FXO feels like a real team, and having your players in korea, is gonna skyrocket them to the top of the scene. This is the first, true progaming house in korea, and establishing ties with other teams is only gonna help.

Once your guys have been there for 3-4 months, they are gonna start knocking down tournaments left and right. This is the first time we have had a full team in korea of all English speakers, so they get the benefit of the amazing amazing Korean competition and talent, while having the ability to throw ideas around and brainstorm together. I'm also loving the team atmosphere in the team league, FXO FIGHTING!

@CoR

I know he's not low level. But he is ridiculed a lot whenever he's scheduled to play despite having an impressive record last year.

Let's see how does in an open bracket that doesn't contain the likes of Dongragu, MVP, etc...

MKP is a player capable of sending himself. Also, although a nice guy, he hasn't particularly given me reason. Actually he has won enough money from FXO to pay for MLG But who knows, maybe GSL will send him.

At first I was skeptical of the whole TeamFXO-moves-to-Korea-to-raep-everyone-in-the-name-of-foreign-esports idea, but now, I think I get it a little bit more. After watching them in the Team League and Code A, I have a new appreciation for the team, and after this announcement, I am pretty solidly in their favor. FXO HWAITING!!!

Dont read further if you know nothing about starcraft 2.

ChoyafOu is *gasp* probably the oxford dictionary of starcraft 2. You want to know why scfOu is so good and arguably the current best terran in korea (arguably).. Talk to choya...

You wanna know that his entire team pracs with us, even though we play them in GSTL (we started winning recently vs them). He doesn't let that get in the way of progress.

Korean e-Sports is poor! People like Choya who bend over backwards for e-Sports requires some form of gift, or help. So he has it.

Not to mention he was code S, I know he can play strong macro, and he sings in the booth? I didnt know that but thats cool!... He bought me whiskey also!!!

I'm back in kuala lumpur until anaheim now, have to do some work.

Oh come on, I'm sure every team's coach will tell you that their ace is the best player of their respective race in Korea

I think Choya will do very well at MLG. His aggressive style is suited to a LAN environment and the open bracket is a joke compared to Code A qualification.

It's really cool for me to read this because I feel like Choya is one of the more disliked players for whatever reason, and it's awesome for you to say that he's actually a really good guy. Looking forward to it!

I think Choya will do very well at MLG. His aggressive style is suited to a LAN environment and the open bracket is a joke compared to Code A qualification.

No one in fOu told me that.. Cos I would have scoffed at them if they did.

Um, pretty sure Choya is in fOu.

With all these great players coming and spending so much money to attend, hopefully MLG will increase their Prize Pool even more next year! I'm not quite sure how much it costs to fly from Korea to the US for only 3 days, but it probably isn't worth much if they don't finish Top 3. Good luck to Choya though I look forward to meeting him and as always props to FXOpen!

i cant imagine a single foreigner being happy about choya coming lol.

incoming cheese.

its like facing a random in ladder, you know you are going to get cheesed, you know you wont have fun even if you win.
I wonder if its the same when facing choya.

Either way im rooting for choya, and i hope we can see some serious quesadilla plays.

I'm not surprised by this when I hear about him helping players prepare for games, especially when they aren't even on his team. I always hear his name mentioned by the players and casters about who helped them practice.

Honestly, I want more koreans to go to MLG.
Seeing players like CatZ just doesn't cut it.... (As much as you complain about not winning anything, you could better spend that time instead of complaining and mocking destiny's inability to follow your commands and practice). No pain no gain sir.

As for my main point, Go Korea ! Always putting 300% Effort into their career and making it the best
Sacrificing almost everything they have.

fOu is my favorite Korean team, so I've always liked Choya. I don't blame him for relying heavily on two base play, think of the players who rely on cheese and all ins, but aren't coaching and supporting an entire pro-team. *cough Rain cough*

So I'd like to thank FXO for giving Choya this opportunity, and for everything else they've done for e-sports. FXO fighting! ChoyafOu fighting!

Seems a little shady that FXO is flying ChoyafOu out to and wear their shirt, I mean if FXO truly wanted to
pay him back and hopefully give him a good impression of not only myself, but foreign e-sports in general.
then they wouldn't make him wear the FXO shirt. Generally seems like FXO is being shady trying to cover-up some "other motives" for flying ChoyafOu out. Still a great opportunity for ChoyafOu, and the viewers though.

FXO needs to get SOMETHING out of the deal. fOu still gets advertising (he will be playing under ChoyafOu presumably) and have fOu on his shirt. FXO just gets a little something back from Choya as a thanks for sending him out here.

It's his money so they can make him wear their shirt if they want, but I did find it a bit of a strange request. I mean they have a fairly large team so there will be tons of fxo shirts around, so having choya being able to promote the fou team wouldn't have hurt.

However, it's still a really nice gesture for him to fly out choya so it's not a surprise they come with some stipulations.

edit: Hmmm well I guess if choya offered that's cool I guess.

Choya will be wearing an FXO shirt with ChoyafOu written on the back during the event. Please do not assume that Choya has joined FXO, as this is untrue. It is merely a gesture to show his appreciation for me sending him to MLG.

Skill aside Choya is one of my favorite personalities from the GSL. I bet he'd be a riot to party with, hehe.

Lol, no doubt wearing the FXO shirt would be a good gesture to show ChoyafOu`s appreciation, in fact, it`s the least he could do. All that says is it was a good gesture, it doesn`t say he offered to wear it, I`m willing to bet it wasn`t his idea loll.

I think choya will make it out of open bracket fine. Most of the players won't be able to handle professional cheese and timing attacks even if they know it's coming. I mean july bane busted his way quickly through the open bracket because he knew he could and it would give him more time to rest b/w games.

Wow GL to choya.

I like seeing these more off-the-wall players such as choya. The talking-to-himself, and in one case, seemingly even singing to himself too.

Just curious but has anyone ever asked him "what do you say, when you're talking to yourself?" Because sometimes don't even notice that they're in fact doing it.

I'm curious, does FXO literally shit money or something? Isn't FXO's owner like loaded with money or something?

Well Boss is a shareholder in FXOpen and FXOpen is the second biggest online forex trading company so they do quite well. The company is easily worth 100's of millions if not more. The owner of FXOpen (the company) is an avid starcraft fan he has 2 teams now Imba.FXO and FXO.

Great gesture by FXO, way to go! I don't understand alot of the criticism with choyafOu, he's a player who maybe hasn't performed incredibly in GSL, but has been in code S multiple times, with at least a Ro8 finish (i think). Even more of a reason that Anaheim is going to be awesome.

I'm sure that more people like FXOBoss would be in the scene if they just had the same amount of money to spend like FXO actually does.

Takes a real douchebag to try and make what FXO Boss did into a negative. Props to FXO for sending another korean to MLG, despite popular perception that Koreans are these evil robots invading our beloved US of A. They deserve to play in the MLG if the point of MLG is to have the highest level of competition. Choya is a former Code S player and made it through Code A qualifiers so you have to be a complete retard if you think he isnt going to smash face in MLG open rounds.

I will have to admit, I lulzed, altho maybe that wasn't in greatest taste.

Well I never particularly enjoyed watching Choya play, but more competition is I guess better-- even if they are coming for our prize money XD

Looking forward to seeing what he can do with the Open bracket. No doubt he will make his way through, he may not be the best player but he is definitely good. The more Koreans at Anaheim the better, a little boost in competition makes it that much more interesting.

Big props to FXO, I have nothing but respect for gestures like this.

What an awesome move. Again FXO is doing everything in their power to increase the global reach of SC2 and esports. They're continuing to bridge the gap between foreigners and the koreans. Not necessarily due to skill, but just distance and such. Seriously great stuff!

LOL....he's pretty ballin' like him if you ask me. I think it's more of FXO seeing potential in the SC2 market and giving BOSS hella money to work with.

ITT: FXOBoss being a total boss!

This is seriously cool. Looking forward to see the foreign community clash with this stylistic protoss.

So, MC being the "more powerful version of Choya, who doesn't automatically lose when the push is repulsed..." is not going? Well, that's ok though. MC may have had enough of all the flying to other countries. He needs rest.

as long as he plays some straight up normal games, that he can do, and do well, he should be fun to watch
as long as he just doesnt cheese cheese cheese like he has been known to in the past he will be fun to watch
May the mass times acceleration be with you

Well, Choya trip is being paid direct from Boss pocket, not from FXOpen.

this is pretty epic because even though everyone hates on him, code A and code S represents the elite pinnacle of skill in SC2. So it will be funny to see how he tears through the open brackets.

this is so exciting i always saw fou as the korean root and choya as the kiwikaki of the team. sure some people mistakingly downplay his strategies as cheese but most of us are able to appreciate the creativity for what it is

What FXO does to SC2 is really great, both to community and to themselves. I am quite certain that I will become their client in the future if I become interested in Forex trading.
