Imo they would be great guest since they're not clueless about SC2 either They've been on the show before and I would be surprised to see them appear again. Do you mean that you wouldn't be surprised? Or did something bad happen? ![]() LOL HORRIBLE TYPO ![]() I would NOT be surprised to see them on again. Nothing bad happened at all ![]() ![]()

I would of thought Wheat of all people would of realised this. asides from that good show. LO3 has tackled the topic of people not getting paid from events many times. So in reality, it is topical to what the show has addressed before. Was it appropriate to "attack" Carmac about it? Not necessarily, especially because Carmac isn't the one who signs the checks. However, Carmac handled it nicely, first suggesting that HuK should have said something at HSC (true), and then that he contact him after the show. Did a resolution occur? I don't know, but I sure as hell think it will. How is that not a win for everyone? And to be fair, it was Slasher who pitched the question to Carmac. Are you're suggesting that I faulted by not stopping it? I can't help you there, because I'm not in the business of censoring my own co-hosts and telling them what they can and cannot ask.

"laughing about it". Ok, Now you're just trolling. Thanks for making historical references in the cases in which LO3 has helped people get paid by exposing the fact that they had not already. There was no FUCKING plan for a discussion in the first place, HuK saw that Carmac was on the show, and so he posed the question. Slasher picked it up because it's a common topic (or has been on LO3). So how do you PLAN something like that into a schedule, when it all went down as the show was happening? You don't. Carmac was asked, he addressed it properly, and you know what, something will probably get done about it. So again I ask you, WHAT THE FUCK WAS THE PROBLEM WITH IT?

I would rather ask the question: Is it proffesional of tournament organizers to not pay their players on time/at all? Afaik this is more common than people like to think in the e-sports scene, and in my opinion it needs to be discussed more. Tournaments should ideally pay the very same day they declare a winner to be honest.

Some people dont understand how common practice it is (to not pay players), or at least how common it used to be, i dont realy know how it is now. HuK made his feelings known on Twitter while the show was live, tweeting at us. Breaking opportunity to ask a question - as well as get a reply from another pro, two-time IEM champion Rapha, to say he was paid for the same events.

It has gotten much better over the past 2 years, and partially due to the fact that it DID go public and WAS discussed in a public fashion. I enjoyed the show and liked Carmac on it, but you guys did kind of miss a "no-fluff" opportunity. It is great that Carmac said people who haven't been paid should feel free to come and talk to him, but the issue is that unpaid players are having to go to that length to get paid in the first place and that money is being delayed for such large amounts of time. It may have gotten better but that is still not acceptable. When you sign up for a tournament there should be a clear procedure on exactly how and when the payout will occur, in writing.

ID Software has done shit. Rage looks like shit. Brink? Serious Sam 3? Counter Strike 2.6? Do competitive First Person Shooters have a future in esports? I spent a good part of my childhood playing the fuck out of CS 1.6 I wouldnt be here on teamliquid if it wasn't for CS 1.6 Cal fo life.

Surely it must be in ESL's best interest to clear up that issue unless they have something to hide. The fact that it isn't being cleared up makes me wonder if ESL's economy is so messed up they can't pay. Carmac mentioned briefly that sometimes it takes a long time for them to pay and he thought Huk had gotten his prizemoney even though he says he hasn't, like it's no big deal. This whole thing seems like something they are trying to sweep under the carpet, really disappointed that you didn't bring the "no fluff" on that issue. If Carmac isn't the right guy to talk to about paying out prizemoney then bring on someone who is because that issue is a big deal and people constantly bring it up in forums/newscomments etc. Don't trashtalk CPL and other shitty events while letting something major like this go untalked about. Here is a nice summary of some Quakeprizes that haven't been paid http://www.playquake.com/columns/2011/06/prizes/ according to this guy. The best CS team in the world lately, Ukranians NaVi, still haven't received their prize money from IEM S4. This is common knowledge in the CS world. From the thread: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=237909¤tpage=29 "I still havnt been paid for the gamescon from last year, or new york" - Liquid`HuK "Shouldn't the players from the last IEM be paid before you announce a new one? Moonglade is still waiting for his prize money..." - FXOpen Something tells me this is the tip of an Iceberg :/
