It will make a lot of money but nobody wants to watch a civic try to race.

The shows on onemoregame.tv are not him casting a tournament or anything, don't expect him to stay 100% professional, this is how he acts on these shows and that's what people like. "progaming without the fluff" is exactly what it is.

However, saying that "nobody wants to watch a civic try to race" is just flat out wrong in this context. I'm not suggesting Dota2 will flop or it won't be record-breaking numbers and be the biggest thing in esports... but I'm not suggesting it will either. I can't see the future. I can only see the present, and the present has LoL with a gigantic fan and player base that hasn't shown any signs of falling off yet. I'm curious, does anybody know how many viewers that CoD million dollar tourny got? edit: and even being as ridiculous as to include the "inferior competition" on a starcraft site that discusses both BW and SC2 is ridiculous.

Lots of people like to watch inferior competition, just compare Nascar and F1. It's subjective, with that logic sc2 is "inferior competition" just as SC2 has a relatively easier learning curve compared to Brood War, so does LoL to a predecessor like DotA or HoN, the fact is at top level LoL is just as "skill based" as dota or hon, but one is more mechanically based while the other is more strategically based (just like sc2 and bw). The bigger issue is the fact that the aos dota-type is hard to watch if you don't know whats going on ,it could be dota hon or lol and if you do not know how the game works it is very hard to watch. also the dota2 tournament had 300k viewers on the english stream, the LoL season 1 finals at dreamhack had 220k viewers while i agree that starcraft offers a better competition, don't try to single out LoL as being "inferior" to something like dota, and this is coming from someone who played all of tda and cal season 1 and 2 dota at the highest level back than, and enjoy's league of legends. but of course people will jump on the bandwagons to justify their game being more "skill based"
