GSTL Fantasy league seems to be a random lottery... which "unknown" player will come out and all-kill. Sometimes, but I mean there are small clues out there to better your chance. For example a big part of GSTL is to show off unknown players. In Sage's interview he said Hoseo's terrans are really strong. I think in the house tour for NS Hoseo their coach said to look out for Jjakji, and that he's really good. Also a big part of GSTL is to shown off your really good players that haven't quite made the cut for the extremely competitive GSL qualifiers. Also if you look at the ICCup korean weekly tournament, Hack, Sage, Puma, Jjakji are some of the players that's done really well. So there's info here and there about who are the better players that haven't made code A yet, you just have to look for them. That combined with the relative strength of the two team's players you can kind of tell who might get used when or used for sniping. Like last week almost everyone expected Hero to be used to snipe DRG, which is who got sent, he failed the snipe though. I was pretty sure about Nada beasting a bit considering how good his form seemed in Code S few days before.
Yeah... I was kicking myself for not picking Sage.. as he is someone I wanted on my team, knew about the ICCup win. (he beat MKP I believe?)
Basically, am actually looking forward to next seasons GSTL.. heh, will change my strategy.... I just went for an all-rounder team of players who done well in previous GSTL's... but I think the best way to go is with a well known Ace (such as Dongraegu), then pick a couple "known" players, and then the rest the up and comers (kinda gambles), and use your gamble spots as the trades each week. Make sure to check the schedule, and wait for the starters to be announced, and research.

oh damn, coming home to see jjakji with 4 kills. and when i picked that 2 or whatever points player in the beginning for my anti-team i thought he was a safe bet with like no games in tlpd
|
Another bad pick for me...
I traded for Happy instead of Yoda... even thou Yoda was worth more.... arghhhh!! Why am I so unlucky in GSTL!!!
|
wow who called Jjakji all killing FXO?
|
its one thing when my players lose badly and i look stupid for picking them... but to have thestc and twilight choke so bad in both game 2s and not have hack or tassadar play is just so frustrating... I shouldn't have traded yoda but in reality tassadar is the best player on nsheo (what was supposed to be a shitty team) playing against fou and fxo (also shitty gstl teams)... I cant kick myself for not picking jjakki and sage because in reality their performances were probably flukes

Really? I feel like Sage and Jjakji are both as good if not better than Tassadar, not to mention shuttle is suppose to be pretty good too for another good player on NS Hoseo.
But yeah TheStc definitely could've taken another win. I wasn't expecting Twilight to win more than 1 game though.
So sad YoungHwa and Happy didn't get used at all , and Puzzle only getting 1 kill. Gahh

Can someone please tell me how i can check my team status?????? a link to the thread would be awesome
|
Will get a point for Tassadar / Happy / Younghwa... which will put me back to 15, which I had in week 1... after all these trades... havent gone up in points at all... argh... better luck next week
|
11 points today thank god Will set me to 42 points hopefully within top100 :D

DRG saved my team once again, but I'm really sad Tassadar/Happy/Younghwa didn't get any playtime and Puzzle fell to Losira.
The one decision I made and cannot understand in retrospect is why the hell I made NesTea my captain and not DongRaeGu - I'd have traded NesTea away two weeks ago, but now I'm stuck with a guy who won't play any matches until the end of the season. Stupid me.

Damnit, I had to make a choice between getting Yoda or Younghwa. I picked the wrong horse...
|
Im still bashing myself for not picking DRG... I just hope Ryung will pay off soon. Also damn GunieaPig raped my damn anti team. He should not win this much!

Tass is in the semi's of Code A after making it through Code B qualies... I don't think Sage or Jjakji have any results comparable to this. The fact that they also could be using Tass as their ace and he's just not getting out there could also be playing into this but damn. If twilight beat Jjakji like he should have (in that specific game not overall) then I think Tass would have been sent out and all killed (his PvP is the dopeness)... Congrats though big week for you

Either way, you must be like a psychic; trading for Jjakji and Sage a week before their all-kills.. I mean, I know they were worthwhile picks, probably to get 2-4 points, but to get two allkills from trades? wow.
I mean, picking DRG at the start should of been a no-brainer for anyone.
|
arrgghhhh i've been making all the wrong choices -_- Tassadar didn't even play, while people that are worth the same points (Sage, Hack, Jjakji) are tearing it up. 30 points for me atm. Now who can I trade Tassadar for now?
edit: if MMA doesn't step it up I'm gonna be screwed
|
Well it could've gone worse. I was an idiot and traded Hack for TOP. Don't ask me why, I thought he'd have a chance at playing and not lose a lot of value. But he dropped 9 points so I'm an idiot but the rest of my players put up some numbers... just got to make some good pickups at the low values now lol.

Oh I'm not arguing that Tassadar has better individual results. But Code A qualifier is really really hard and involves a lot of luck on the bracket and the map pool and build orders in a ton of best of 3s. Code B and code A players utterly destroying code S players has been quite common ever since the first GSTL, so you can't really rely on individual results too heavily.
Rank 1!!! Yay! Unfortunately I had stacked all my players on this week and have only Puzzle for next week, well also I had the misfortune of picking fOu for my team but hey even they can beat FXO! Well of course and two trades. But all my player values dropped, and I have no good candidates to trade for PuMa or Gumiho. I feel like instead of keeping GuineaPig and getting TheStc, should kept Gumiho and got PuMa last week. I'd netted 3 less points but I think those two will get more than 3 together next week and retained trade value better. Oh well. Can't wait to see next week's starters!

Jjakji is like Sage in that his decision making and macro are his strengths, However his battle management is a weakness. That being said I think that Tassadar is the opposite, excellent micro and battle management. But less focused on harass and an overall meticulous gameplan.

Didn't the price of the MVP team dropped ? I can be wrong, but it should have been increasing since they 2 wins / 0 loss ?
