To the people that are claiming that Minigun isn't an ace level player, I urge you to watch his stream. I've watched his play get better and better and better over the past months. This isn't something that I'm just pulling out of thin air, it's something I've seen with my own eyes. You can't judge a player that hasn't been to many LAN events solely on his results. It just doesn't make sense to do it that way. So the only way to really know is to watch their play and judge for yourself. His game sense, crisis management, and knowledge of the match ups are amazing. Yes, his APM might not be the highest in NA, but he makes up for a lack thereof with the aforementioned abilities. Before some of you judge these players, you really should take the time to watch their streams and replays.

I've watched Minigun in online tournies, he's okay. Good, but certainly not amazing. I'd be hesistant to call him the new col ace.

And the guy is indeed a really good talent - it isn't easy to just come from zero RTS experience to his level the way he did.

He has to perform and place well at LAN events to show that he can play at the highest stage. Being a professional at whatever sport is about playing well at the highest stage. Its just simply that.

You can win every single game on stream, but still do terribly on LAN events. For example, Select was rank 1 GM prior to MLG Columbus, but we all saw what happened. If you don't have the skill and mental toughness to attend and win at tournaments, it means nothing even if you beat Idra a thousand times on stream.

I'm actually surprised by your reaction... it's like "So now we have to watch a player play games rather than just perpetuate the stereotype that Minigun is bad because I saw other people on TL say it (edit: or watched a few games), even though he is beating many good players quite often?" To clarify, much of that wasn't actually directed at you, but the point is a lot of people just hear "Minigun isn't a good player" and then that word travels all around TL. I'm also not sure if he is an Ace quality player, but we will have to see.

Minigun is easily comparable to Cruncher, so if they'd play Cruncher as their ace, I'd go ahead and say Minigun could possibly perform equally well if not better.

So watching IdrA leave 8/10 times he gets 2 rax marine/scv all-inned in ZvT on ladder gives a good grasp on the way he handles the matchup. /facepalm For the most part - ladder is a way of trying new strategies and keeping mechanics sharp, nothing more. Get real.

Kinda funny that the two players really worth pursuing didn't make the move (kiwi and slush), the only player left who can really compete close to a professional level there is Drewbie, though with better support I could see Minigun doing well. Depending on how much they spent on acquiring root, I really don't see how this was a good move for Complexity, but I guess time will tell
