FXOpen e-Sports (FXO) are delighted to announce that Razer have become the official hardware sponsor for team FXO. Razer has provided all FXOpen e-Sports players and staff with brand new, state-of-the-art competitive gaming gear. The gaming peripherals a player uses can greatly affect their performance, so it was important for FXO to partner with a reputable, quality manufacturer like Razer.
“With great competition results, entertaining live streams and an accomplished line-up of pro-gamers, FXO has truly made a name for themselves today. FXO also strive to bring forward e-Sports for the world, so we’re proud to support them in that mission. This is a seriously kickass partnership and we’re proud to have them onboard with Team Razer.” - Robert “RazerGuy” Krakoff, President, Razer USA.
The Perfect Fit
As a fellow company seeking to further e-Sports and constantly push the boundaries of competitive gaming in our own unique way, Razer was the obvious choice for FXOpen e-Sports. All of the players were already familiar and suitably impressed with Razer hardware and the chance to have them on board as a sponsor was an opportunity that thrilled them, as Kevin “FXOqxc” Riley comments:
“I’ve been using the Razer Diamondback for a number of years when our sponsorship deal came around. Since using the Diamondback I've tried a number of different mice from various companies but never found anything that comes close. More recently I started using the Razer BlackWidow and now, I'm not sure I could safely go back to a different keyboard. I'm really excited to be a part of Team Razer.” - Kevin “FXOqxc” Riley, professional FXOpen e-Sports player.
We look forward to what this sponsorship bring and the future holds, as we wish our competitors at MLG Columbus and the GSTL all the best!

Oh and btw is it just me or was this almost EXACTLY the same read as the teamliquid sponsorship but qxc had a blurb instead of jinro and a few names switched out where applicable haha :>

and then that would mean there would be less people being funded. Most teams if they get more money dont expand their roster, they just increase the amount of events they go to.

Now FXO just need players who can win tournaments.

Damn FXO is kicking ass in the publicity department!
Seems like FXO is the best supported team out there, surprised they didn't pick up some of the top players on the market when they were available (Thorzain immediately springs to mind), their skill is lacking a bit compared to their resources.
what razer is doing is only giving free mouses/keyboards to each FXOpen player rather than being a "full" sponsor right ? like FXOpen is still the ones sponsoring the players for the operations costs no ?

Wow Razer sponsoring Liquid AND FXO awesome.
Couple of great teams for that company!
That's pretty nifty. I think that they're probably going to try to sponsor like, every company or something. That's what it's looking like, anyway. Isn't slayers sponsored by them, or was that just boxer that has them as a personal sponsor?
Congrats to FXO either way!

I think that's a point though - in something as fickle as SC2/esports putting all your eggs in one basket can be risky - every one of your sponsored teams/players could be out in round 1 of a tournament.

Razer/Steelseries benefits hugely from any growth in esports in general. Their products are mostly bought by competitive gamers so they just want to put money back into the scene and increase the size of their market.

Wow, hopefully they pick up some new players because of this :D

Well I allready bought some razer and steelseries stuff, but both of them are sponsoring so much so the next time I need something - it will be from those two. Absolutely awesome.
I might be wrong but aren't Razer sponsoring pretty much everybody in sc2?
Not that I think it's a problem, I think it's great.
I think we need a Steel Series vs Razer match where the teams and players form all star teams under their respective sponsors and have an epic BOx (9 or 11 maybe) match up.

Seems weird to call this sponsoring tho, doesn't it? It's basicly giving away a few mice and a few keyboards, in exchange for a few lines on the website. I mean, any kid with a paper route can fund this. It's cool and all, but honestly, it's more for show then anything else.
Ah well, can't wait to see FXO with their new Razer (tm) gear in Korea!
Razer are awesome! They sponsor like every single one Team in SC2.
FXO moving on up, and Razer continuing their massive support of e-sports teams. Sick.
Wow, ok. Someone in FXO knows wtf they're doing. o.o Congrats FXO!
Oh woah, this is great. Right now, I have a feeling Thorzain might be regretting his decision (no offense meant at Mouz, they are a great team) to not try to join FXO with them hogging the news as of late :p. This is a great day for FXO and all fans of ESPORTS. A small step for Razer, an inhumane step for ESPORTS. *deathadder clicks on post*

Congratz to everyone on FXO!!

I got sources from RAZER that told me RAZER only sponsors FXO now mainly because they got invited to GSTL. Otherwise, they wouldn't come to agreement to sponsor FXO. FYI

Congratulations FXO!
Now I really do wanna see an epic showmatch between the Razer teams and the Steelseries teams so we can finally find out who ended up sponsoring the better teams >;o

Wow amazing news! Big grats to FXO! Glad to see a team taking initiative to go Korea got more sponsors. Hopefully we will also see some of their players in the individual gsl.

Damn nice gratz FXO.
Honestly i dont think i could go back to using any other keyboard other than my razer marauder. The rubber coating on the keys and the unique spacing of the keys is something i have gotten really used to it just feels so efficient. Whenever i try to use a normally keybaord im always fumbling around now.

I've read way to much shit about QXC latley... the guy is a great player. Yes his results are pretty cruddy at the moment, but if the guy gets the time to do nothing but focus he has the potential to be the monster he once was. (seriously the guy has like 10 hobbies on top of pro gaming and school :/, but that doesn't mean he hasn't the potential to be a top class player again)
Sorry to derail, just getting sick of hearing this stuff. Grats to FXO

Sorry to derail, just getting sick of hearing this stuff. Grats to FXO I agree, all of these players have potential its not like FXO is just picking up random scrubs and putting them on their team.
QXC and Sheth should they adapt to a korean style of practice could become very great players in fact they already are. Although QXC hasnt been producing results recently, it is because he is very busy with studies and is in a foreign country. He has always said he wants to go to korea and i imagine he will be very motivated once he gets there.

I totally fucked up what team Select is on. My bad, man. Have no idea why I thought Select was in FXO. Must be because I mix naniwas korea-statements with the whole FXO-thing :D My bad, again.
Surprised FXO didn't apply for zowie instead since they plan to go to korea. Grats though on Razer.
Whoa, what's next? Day[9] as coach?

Porsche, mansion, Razer peripherals. Don't pamper these guys too much now.

Wow razer is going to get some sick exposure because I think that every foreigner will be tuning in every time these guys play in the team league I know I will.
Hell! it was about damn time! grats to FXO with GSTL and this!
so razer sponsors slayers/liquid and now fxo?
sick job razer you guys rule...makes me happy to rock the deathadder
Good Job FXO! Hope you guys can do well in the GSTL
Wow Razer is really handing out the sponsors :O Anyway congrats to FXO.
Congrats FXO, now with Liquid, FXO and SlayerS under their belt, my Razer gear feels much much better
So I bought a Razer Deathadder a week ago after my Cooler Master mouse broke, just because they sponsor Team Liquid.
Not only do I find that the mouse is 100 times better, but I find out that just one week later they decide to sponsor FXO?
Not regretting my choice at all. Razer fightinggg!
Nice, free Razer gear for all of FXO!
Razer is really getting their name out there. Congrats FXO!
Pretty sick that Razer is sponsoring everyone, even if they didn't need the sponsorship :p :p
FXO is on a roll recently, decent showings at NASL and MLG, and now on to GSTL and partnership with Razer... Hopefully m00nGLaDe goes to GSTL as well!
FXO... YOU ARE THE BEST! <3 keep fighting
Congrats to FXO!
I guess this means that Razer now officially sponsors practically everyone (FXO, Team Liquid, Mouz, MYM, Dignitas, SlayerS, RoX.KIS, and probably more that I can't think of)
I just want to say thank you Razor. You sponsor so much and we really appreciate it. Next time I am in the market for new hardware etc. you are where I'll go first.
Nice. Gotta love razor. Sponsoring fxo and liquid (and lets not forget tsl1^^)
i wish they wouldn´t spend so much money so that their stuff wouldn´t be that expensive :O
Go Razer! Their sponsorship of SC2 is the reason I bought a Mamba, which I'm clicking around TL with right now

Give a SteelSeries VS Razer Team showmatch!
The best of the teams from people sponsored by Razer against the best from those sponsored by SteelSeries! The more I think about it, the more it'd be absolutely awesome!
Razer doing so much for TL/eSports and especially SC2 things. I just bought one of their headsets because I needed a new one, and when I need a new keyboard or mouse I'm going to head the same way. I'll probably just make a few posts to this effect- because I want it to be known that their are consumers that will buy things that usually wouldn't solely because of these sponsorships.
Thank you so much, Razer!

Although it would be good to note, that some of these sponsorships are hardware sponsorships, such as the sponsorship with FXO. As opposed to a full sponsorship like TL has. There is a big difference between funding a team and providing them with hardware Im sure the teams with full sponsorships get both XD

love my black widow ultimate =)
Razer is going all out... Now I have to choose between TeamLiquid, FxO, Dignitas, Mouz and MyM mousepads. =.= ( Hope there's also going to be a SlayerS mouse pad). =P
I really love Razer for all the awesome gaming stuff they make possible. This might make me ditch my loyalty to Logitech
gg!
My next mouse is going to be a razer :D
I need to buy razer stuff :x
is there a team razer is not sponsoring? gz fxo
Razer vs Steelseries Allstars incoming?
Congratulations to FXO!

RAZER FTW!!!
I personally prefer Razer over SteelSeries. My keyboarde is the Anansi and i just love it! <3 :D

Gone through one 5h + siberia and now im on my 2nd Steelseries 7h headset and the mic is already half broken. Still on my first razer deathadder for a few years now.
Its pretty obvious which company makes more quality products..
Razer mousepad that I bought for $50, so what if its expensive. It lasts because its a Razer product. I had a Krait mouse from them for 4 years daily use, as well as a barracuda headset/sound card, lasted a long time before I decided to upgrade. Great company.

Glad the $65 I just spent on one of their mouses is going somewhere good. To the pockets of the people that run the company. Who now sponsor FXOpen.

i actually call this a VERY smart move from Razer and I wouldnt be suprised if someone from FXO(not the Sc2 team, the CEO or Administrators) is responsible for the way Razer might think. Simply because FXO is a Forex Trading company, can be compared to South Korea Telecomm sponsoring a SC1 team named SKT1 or SamsungKhan(Khan means family if im right) this is pure business. And for Razer to sponsor multiple players/teams it means they, in some ways, gain a monopoly of "image Marketing" by putting multiple teams under sponsorship contracts, they get a HUGE moving/TV advertisement, all that for peanuts. lets say they decide to sponsor all the GSTL teams... Logitech wouldnt get a chance for advertisement, or any other mouse company, and with the number of kids watching NesTea play OMG MOM I WANT THIS MOUSE PLZ PLZ PLZ effect is bringing dollars to them, a TV ad spot is worth hundred of thousands... the Keyboard and mouse that you pay around 80-115USD$ for are actually worth 10-15 at the most. the cost is packaging, shipping, going from a company, to a wholeseller then a retail store... everyone "eats" on it. Razer throws Keyborads and mouse to 10 teams (lets estimate the cost at 30$ for a set KB + mouse) 10 players per team (300$) multiplied by 10 teams (3000$) a TV ad during primetime on FOX for 30 seconds is about 95000USD$
if you were the Razer CEO... what would you do. dont even need to tell me, yeah, guys here are keyboards mice etc. now walk around 3 days at every LAN events with a Razer logo on your Team's shirt/jacket and have 1500+ angry moms at you for their kids asking a brand new Razer mouse.
ThermalTake e-Sports hs also announced new sponsorships recently. I enjoy seeing these 2 companies getting involved in teh scene, bringing players what THEY need since traveling lodging etc is very expensive, and I speak of experience. The more a pro-team can save on, the more players will be able to travel more and attend more events, and make e-sports more of a worldwide thing over a korean centralization (eg: games on cable TV (hey there FOX, ABC... dare you guys to start negociating with MLG for broadcasts) and more than just 4 MLG events a year in america. hey. Canada could host a MLG Vancouver and a MLG Toronto maybe ? hell even montreal has ideal places for this, and MLG has a growing number of canadians im thinking quickly of HuK(ON), KiWi(QC), Slush(QC) desRow(QC) coL.Stalife(BC) and more, why not ?
CEO's please sit together look at whats in front of you all now. make it happen, like in Korea. Bigger than Korea. Airline companies, Banks, Telecomms etc. The scene needs your help. This is one great marketing investment for all of you. do it.
If your're still reading the post at that point, i conclude you really love the scene and care about e-sports. As fans we need to keep supporting our favorite teams and players and cheer for them as hard as your old man cheers when watching hockey footbal bball or w/e sport from his "generation" (giggles)
Thanks for reading me, and please dont mind typos, i didnt revised myself, and im dead tired coming back from a funeral

just bought a razer mouse 4 days ago \o/
Awesome I am using the same keyboard as QXC !!! ♥ Congratz guys hope you do great in Korea
Pretty great to continue seeing major sponsers like this. Grats FXO!
Already use a Razer mouse and I'm in the market for a new keyboard. I'm definitely looking at Razer keyboards now after how great the mouse is as well as their awesome support of the e-Sport scene.
Grats FXO !
Grats! Keep up the good work FXO!
I heart my razer marauder keyboard....!!
I bought my Razer Lycosa from a friend of mine, does that count?
Btw grats to FXO and Razer being awesome as usual!
wow nice! grats to FXO and best of luck in the GSTL!
" feels good for getting a razor lycosa and razor deathadder " :D
Using a razer black widow myself. It's a dream to type and play on.
Expensive != quality/reliable. I've never had a razer mouse last longer then a year. And this Lycosa has buttons that randomly turn off until I unplug it then plug it back in. Their stuff does look good though, and its comfortable.
I'm really happy for FXO right now, I think that the team is going to benefit immensely from this sponsorship...not to mention going to Korea.
Woot, woot.
Wish I could afford a Razer mouse qq, WTB sponsorship! hahah

boomslang anyone? gogo FXO

Dear Razer, you love E-Sport, I love you. Before you did that you exist, in honesty, I had no clue. Now all my Desk and all Gear shouts proud your name, for all to hear.
I myself have a deathadder and an acrtosa, never had any issues with either. The deathadder feels really comfy I don't even use a mouse pad. Glad to see razer sponsoring more teams.
Razer being ballers again!
Not going to lie. I'm probably going to go find a Diamondback right now.
Congrats FXO! QXC has always been one of my favorite players (even though he is a terran and I'm a zerg.. WE'LL MAKE IT WORK!) and I'm glad to hear about his ongoing success.
The sponsors are really picking it up these days. I cant wait to see what main stream sponsors start signing now that monster is in the group

What about Sheth!?!?!
On a more related note: Epic news. I can't wait for inevitable main-streaming of e-Sports. I can't wait for the time when I see IdrA V Boxer advertised on national TV and huge sponsors getting involved! Just good to know that we were all there at the beginning.
Glad to see FXO is grabbing more sponsors lol. Even though they seem like a loaded team already
Great news indeed for FXO - You've got too love what a company like RAZER do for e-sports even now after becoming one of the biggest, if not the biggest name, making pro gaming gear! <3
Kudos FXO
Razers for everyone, Razers for Razer products, FUCK YEAH RAZER love the diamondback (I still want a Mamba though)
