I kinda agree that they will have a hard time competing in the gstl, it would have been nicer to see a euro team in there. But hey, I think this is a great innitiative and it will be lots of fun to see how you guys are doing, jinro was very underrated before he went to korea, and now look at him, I'm sure that at least a few of the players in FXO will evolve a lot from this and I think with time they will be able to compete quite well in the GSL/GSTL.

seriously i dont know whats with all the negativity you guys should be applauding a foreigner team for going out there to test themselves against the best in the world, and who's to say they wont improve drastically. They have a very solid line up already and they will be practicing non stop together everyday meaning they will probably improve 10 fold.

Most of you guys probably dont even know of half of these players so how can you even judge them before you have seen them, many of us had never heard of DRG before the latest GSTL, shit id barely heard of MVP before GSL may, i knew Genius was on that team thats about it.

Regardless of how they do we should all be cheering them on and showing them our support, i dont think they expect to go there and a week later be producing fantastic results its going to take time and hard work, i know they are up for it though or they wouldnt be spending the time or money to send all their players there. Obviously any player willing to spend months in korea is looking to excel big time in the e-sports world. Its where you have to be if you want to be in the most competitive sc2 environment in the world right now.

FXO has a HUGE lead when it comes to ability to sniping. People seem to not think of that. For instance if FXO is up against IM they can make a specialised build for for instance QXC (whos TvZ is amazing already) to beat Nestea. The other teams cant really do that against FXO since they dont know much at all about their players and their builds. I´ve got a feeling this will be pretty cool.

Sheth is gonna do all-kill.

Not a super duper strong team to say but this is sort of the first full foreigners team to go. In the future who knows there will be even more if FXO succeed first

Deezer is the guy that Idra played like 10 times in a row on Ladder, right? And was BM'ing Idra the whole time. I'm right about remembering that?

I dont really think that this is all which GOM could do and I dont think a 2 month long GSTL will be as exciting as a 1 week one. Sure a GSTL with group play will make sure the better teams have greater chance to win, but it also draws out the whole thing too much IMO.

It is good that GOM tries to get foreigners into their leagues and tournaments, but I am not happy with their inflexibility concerning the formats. Loooooooonnngg tournaments dont have the same excitement level as short ones and that isnt good for the viewer. The NASL has an excitement level of close to zero for me, because favorites in the groups have been pretty clear since week 3-4 and it will only become exciting in week 9 and whatever comes after that.
+ Show Spoiler [Analogy] +
If you have access to the TV series Babylon 5 I would recommend thinking about the story of Dr. Franklin in Season 3. He used drugs to do more, but he should have tried to do BETTER and the same applies to GOM and their leagues.

We only have 24 hours each day and they should be filled with the highest quality of life we can get instead of more and more and more of the same.

Including foreigners is good, only providing long drawn out tournaments are bad. Sure they provide massive amounts of viewing time, but its "the same as yesterday and the day before" ... always. This will make it boring eventually. Thus my suggestions for improvements:
  • Add short tournaments for weeks / weekends so there is a chance for foreign players without massive team support to experience Korean tournaments for themselves.
  • Include more emotion and surprise into the tournaments. Right now every participant will know exactly who he is facing and which maps are to be played at least a week beforehand. This will let them prepare specifically for the maps / matchup, but the consequence has been shown in several GSL finals ... boring build-order losses. The way to do it is to scrap any bracket and draw each pairing right before they are to be played and the same is true for the maps.

GSTL is already amazing and now it just got 100% more interesting. The new FXO player is Painuser I can definitely feel that in my bones.

Think of it as a step towards more foreign teams in the GSTL and it is an amazing opportunity for FXO. They may not be the strongest foreign team but expect they will not hold back, and who knows. I expect big things from Sheth and qxc and hope they do well.

I'm very skeptical as to how good they will do, but I'm going to root hardcore for FXO and I hope they will set an example for other foreign teams.
I really really hope Qxc gets back in top shape before his matches, I believe he is the best player on the team when he is "on".

Go win!

Oh, and borrow Sase if he's in Korea at the right time.

Are you really going to bring your Xeris-contrived nonsense into this thread? There exists four threads on both sides of the issue for you to post in. It literally has nothing to do with this announcement, so don't derail the thread.

Yea well hes been travelling/ studying in spain i doubt hes had much time to practice, and even at his top form i doubt he practice 10+ hours a day with a whole team at his disposal i think he will become a beast in korea.
