Hellspawn and me(bobhund, duh) from Rakaka.se visited the Swedish Pro-house today. TLO took us on a tour and we did an massive interview with all the players living in the there. Enjoy.

The house tour with TheLittleOne

Interview with SjoW, MorroW, HayprO, TheLittleOne and Bischu

We will also cover the Swedish WCG qualifiers tomorrow, so get ready for some more (Swedish) interviews!

That empty room looks like the perfect size for Huk.

And I love how Sjow loves sjowing off his achievements in his room.

Anyways, it's always awesome to see all these pro houses springing up all over the world, from Malaysia to Florida and now to Sweden.

I never thought I'd say this about five people sharing a house with one shower: that looks SO luxurious! That is, comparing to the Korean pro-houses where they sleep in bunk beds, 5-6+ people in one room.

I was kinda surprised because the house looks older and i dont know how to describe it but it is very simple and seems a bit rusty. So i mean nothing i would have expected after seeing a korean pro house ^-^. But gz either way and have a good time.

You can train your vT against TLO and Sjow, your vZ vs Morrow and Haypro, your vP vs Naniwa.
Those guys will be monsters in 6 months if they adopt a strict training regime.

The house is great, but the second interview is kind of awkward with Naniwa behind, not invited to talk or anything.

Especially when he said TLO said he was bad PR and they don't want him there, even if he is part of Dignitas.

Naniwa won't be living there and nor will Sase. They have Bischu though, I'd say he's Sweden's 3rd best Protoss after Naniwa and Sase.

I know Naniwa is playing with Morrow and Sjow a lot or at least used to so I'm sure Naniwa will communicate with the pro-house a lot.

Korean gamers must be looking on in envy - getting your own room, luxuries like sunlight and getting to go outside. No wonder TLO never wants to leave.

Why do people feel the need to stir up drama all the time? Naniwa isn't interviewed because he's not living there. And TLO's comments about Naniwa was blown way out of proportion. Do you really think Naniwa would be there otherwise?

sunlight lowers your reaction time ^.^

it is nice to see all the different houses (OGS, GOM, Root, etc). the best i've seen has got to be the KT house though.

Why didn't he participate? He is the only one I'm interested in Why didn't you ask him questions?

He is from Irak actually. I believe he moved to sweden during the first gulf war. Concerning Naniwa I think he didn't participate because he is not going to live in this house , it would have made this interview a bit ackward .

Well I did watch the interview. It's kinda awkward with Naniwa sitting in the background while everyone else is having sexy interview time. They could have included him somehow...

Anybody know where in Stockholm this is? Looks alot like Bromma where I used to live

I think TLO mentioned it was in Bromma, so it shouldn't be that hard to track down. The sign on the house also said nr.7. So yeah, anyone with an hour or two on their hands could easily find it.

That being said, don't visit them uninvited even if you do find it. They obviously want to keep the raving fanhordes away, so do try and respect their wishes. Stockholm is a small place anyway, you're bound to run into some of them sooner or later - I already have.
It's the least I can do.

I think it wouldn't work out. Too many egos under the same roof just doesn't work well. I think the balance works well atm because Morrow is the only "top contender" who lives there. Obviously I can't claim that I know the players too well but most of them appear fairly modest. Most of the top contenders don't seem to be.

Oh well, thx for the walkthorugh and interviews!

The house was an old house and as you said is quite a bit below standard but I didn't expect them to afford any house of better quality. The house fits it's purpose and is like a palace compared to most of the Korean houses. If I was five to ten years younger then this would be my dream setup.

Because they were interviewing people that LIVE in the house, Naniwa and Sase do NOT LIVE in the house, thus they were not interviewed.
Reason i didnt think u watched the interview was you asking if thats Naniwa in the background when they said in the interview couple of times that it is Naniwa and other guy was Sase.

Those who wanted interviews with Nani and Sase.
Rakaka will cover the WCG-qualifiers tomorrow, so will probably get a more relevant interview than.

Khaldor is so painful to listen to. Every time he says BanCHee I get a little angry inside, because saying sh is like the most German thing there is, yet he refuses to talk normal and instead tries to desperately not sound German which fails so hard

(Nevertheless he does more for E-sport than I will ever do in my life, so he is a good person, I just don't like his language.)

TLO's English actually sounds okay to me. It's German-ish of course, but hey, he is German, so it is fine.
I was actually really surprised how responsible TLO seemed to be. And charming as always.

You kidding me? its sweeden.... Haypro seems like the type who lets other people pick on him and thus probably gets the worst room. Looks like he is too shy to interact with Asians. I can tell by his posture and the way he looks that it seem he did not engage conversation with Koreans that often or feel comfortable with them maybe. But newho i probably am wrong, because i am not there to expience it

Lol he was the last guy in man.. he was in South Korea some days ago ..

The house is old but it has a garden, they can barbecue etc... it's great man! Besides they are in Ikea country.. 1000€ and that house looks like a palace ;D

If you consider this guys have 20 something years i think it's good for some friends to get a nice house and follow their dreams.

About sase and naniwa, of course they weren't interviewed since they don't live there. Maybe the rakaka guys could have talked to them a bit maybe ask a question, but he didn't.

Like the setup and I think they will all improve allot.

I think that you generally dislike to hear the accent from your own country more than others. I cringe during most interviews in English by swedes, and think it's pretty much the most annoying accent in the world.

Looks really cool, I like how much of an actual house it is. Not a crowded, dark apartment like most of the teamhouses in Korea seem.

It's awesome how these progamers all just decided to become friends and live together, I think we all wish we could be living this dream!

Thanks for the awesome tour. Its kind more relax atsmosphere than Korean pro-house.
For people wonder why Haypro got the room right infront of the stair, I think he arrived last, so he has to do with whatever is left. Its still much better than sharing a room with several other guys.

Well it makes top 5 that's for sure, perhaps even top 3 for this part of Sweden. (Stockholm/Uppland).
By far the most common colour is red, except in Scania, there the houses are white or yellow predominantly.

Anyhow great house and good luck with getting along and progressing to further your common individual goals. And is it okay if I come over for BBQ some time, I'll be sure to bring a flintastek or something?

If their financing runs thin, I think they could always look to the broader community to keep the house up and running. Best of luck to this awesome group!

one of the benefits of working out, hormones and stuff... but still, his english is so german, i hate to listen to it (and im german myself :D)

I notice a lot of germans on TL do not like german english but the non-german people seems to like the accent. (ie Kahldor)

Khaldors german commentary sucks ... because it is half-english (and I dont mean the technical terms).

Germans do have some problems with other languages and are pretty stupid about it. An easy example is french ... which has a lot of "silent letters" in its words. So one cheese had to be renamed from "Bressot" to "Bresso" ... just to make us germans not say that last letter. Pretty stupid.

The main part of german accent is obviously the pronounciation of the "th", but the reason for that is mostly a lack of practice early on I think. We always have synchronized versions of movies and listening to native speakers of english isnt really something that is done. People are "unwilling" to watch a DVD with the original english sound (which is usually much better quality, because it doesnt come from a sterile studio) and thus arent going to learn the pronounciation.

We also have a bad tradition of inventing our own "english words" which no one else knows ... or do you know what a "Handy" is? The "Telekom" also has lots of different tariffs and ALL of their names are english ... So actually we love english, but are too lazy to really learn it and only include it in a way which seems "fashionable" to us (talking partially in english like Khaldor and all the other german casters do) without really understanding some of the words.

How can it be irrelevant when I am saying that we germans dont really care about "accent" or "foreign languages" enough to try and learn them?

Great tour, seems like they got a pretty nice house there.

The interview was pretty interesting but its a little bit sad that he didn´t take the chance to ask naniwa and sase some questions altough they don´t live there.

TLO already talking about a second house. I can really imagine them taking over their neighbors house to set up the "B-Team"

Next a Eastern European house somewhere in the Ukraine? Preferably close to where White-Ra lives?

They need some bohemian power in that place. Some peace, love and understanding needs to be going around hardcore for a place to be supreme.

A nice Jimi Hendrix poster, maybe a Steve Wonder painting. Nice piano in the back and a few guitars on the walls. Some multi colored rugs, both on the floor AND walls. That's right! Some big huge inside flowers wouldn't hurt either, maybe some fern or some vine climbers. And a cat, of course, named Janis (After Janis Joplin) if it's a girl, or Billy (After Billy Joel).

Other than my bohemian brain twitch, place looks great and perfect for playing. Nice neighbor hood too it seems like. GL!

Looks great! Nothing like the bunkbeds of Korean gaming houses. And yes, some renovations wouldn't hurt but house prices in Bromma are about ~700 000 $ for a small house so I do not blame them for getting a cheaper one.

Great pro gaming house, the swedish way!

Idea:
If you need help with say mowing the lawn or help by a maid? Don't turn to the professionals, turn to the starcraft nerds and fanboys! By letting them work for an hour in the house you can in turn trade them a coaching lesson! Vacuum cleaning is boring... let a nerd do it and then let him practice with you for an hour!

I would be your maid for a day and then you give me something starcraft 2 related back!

I'm kinda confused why they got a house in Stockholm. They should have found a house in some smaller town with decent communications (to get to live turneys) and pay waaay less.

If you compare it to some of the Korean gaming houses it looks pretty nice. Though I agree that saying "beautiful house" or "amazing house" is quite a stretch.

This would probably work, but I don't think TLO wants to risk waking at 4 AM to find a fan grunting over his bed.

It is a nice little house, with a low stockholm price. Not like other villas around stockholm.

1400 square meter or about 15k square feet main building. 8 separate 50-60sqm 2-3 room + kitchen and bathroom houses. Indoor pool and supposedly a sand beach as I understand it.

Summertime nice weather
TLO: I never want to leave!

Wintertime hellish weather
TLO: I never want to come here again!

Haha, its probably not going to be that bad but seriously, I wonder how the poor German will handle temperatures that makes your snot freeze instantly inside your nose as you're walking to the supermarket.

Luckily if this winter is going to be anything like last winter he won't be lacking motivation to stay inside in the warm and cozy house to practice
So I can basically write anything in this box and it's going to appear every time I post? Sweet.

well done report, gj.

i'm kinda worried that the whole thing might "fail", due to not having a coach, or some person who gives them some pressure and makes them practice even though they'd rather not to for some days.

when i watched the video, i got the impression they only rented the house. i remember tlo saying everyone was chipping in, and i thought this meant paying the rent? but some other posters in this thread seem to think they bought the house? so what's the case?

Looks great! Nothing like the bunkbeds of Korean gaming houses. And yes, some renovations wouldn't hurt but house prices in Bromma are about ~700 000 $ for a small house so I do not blame them for getting a cheaper one.
I think they should let fans come and mow the lawn and fix the garden as support

I'm kinda confused why they got a house in Stockholm. They should have found a house in some smaller town with decent communications (to get to live turneys) and pay waaay less.

so true. Almost every middlesized town in Sweden have great connection and probably 1/5 of the price if not less. Then again we dont really know if they have bought the house or rented it, If its just a rented house it might not matter to much with the rent split 5ways. Buying a house in sthlm though, even a somewhat poor looking as that one is pretty damn expensive. The initiative is awsome though! Wish i knew the adress so I can send them a case of beer or something :D

*corrected spelling cause obviously sending 5 geeks a case of bears would probably end up quite bloody

Nah the swedish weather really isnt THAT bad, I think people whine to much :p Although further north it gets really really cold but in the bigger cities its certinly manageable... the 2 previous winters have been a bit colder then normally though. What has failed most is the communications the laste 2 winters. Sweden is a country where people use the public transport alot and it has really been lacking when the snow comes. Its like they get shocked every winter...." what snow? in sweden? really?! oh fuck..."

I've been around some countries in the winter and believe it or not, we Swedes have a fairly good transportation system when it comes to snow (as shitty as it actually is). Some of the countries I've been to basically shuts down over the prospect of snow.

Also I can't agree more with your first sentence. I love the winter but sometimes I just want the winter to end so people would just shut up about how poor the weather is. Though then people just start bitching how short and cloudy the summer is....

I didn't see this posted until today, but the second I opened the house tour video I knew exactly where it was located. Recognizing the street from the curve of it and the adjacent buildings, I set out to prove my theory. I obviously will not post their address, but allow me to make my case...

Allow me to present, your honor, exhibit A. As you and the jury can see for yourselves, the discarded bicycle, house coloration and number are the same as in the defendant's video. Do also note the large window, which brings us to...

Exhibit B. The windows are covered up, clearly indicative of a drug cartel operation. In this particular photograph the light causes a reflection, but with proper analysis the conclusion should be obvious.

Finally, if I may, exhibit C in the garden. The prosecution firmly suspects this traditional barbecue grill to be a storage facility for strong narcotics and bad cheese.

My fellow peers in the jury, will we allow this to take place in Sweden? A band of unruly youngsters running an operation of questionable legitimacy from their suburban villa - with an enormous consumption of electricity without any lights visible at night. You must agree with me that surely, something is very wrong here. These ruffians are threatening our position as not being the best country in the world for e-sports, and risk putting us ahead of South Korea if others follow their lead.

In all seriousness, I live five minutes by foot from the progaming house. Tell me if you want to grab a beer together some evening when you're taking an hour off or so! I'll bring a guitar and play you something, promise.

Fight on, heroes.

Slightly scary, but I like cut of your jib.

TLO should really coach his housemates how to handle being on camera.

very nice house! hope they get far in tournaments and make it worth it.

Sweden is such a nice country anyway that I'm sure it will be worth it either way.

This would probably work, but I don't think TLO wants to risk waking at 4 AM to find a fan grunting over his bed.

Hahahaha horrible image

While it may not look it, that house is quite expensive. Even a much smaller and uglier house in the same neighbourhood such as http://www.svenskfast.se/Templates/ObjectView.aspx?objectid=3T2RTRERRNF8QQBF costs €619 000 or $900 000

Regardless, this is very good for esports. It is especially a step up for the euro scene as it is the first real european gaming house.

Oh yes, don't let the house fool you. It does indeed cost ridiculous amounts of money.

Instead of this little yellow house, TLO could have bought a medieval castle in Transylvania for the same amount of money.

Yeah, that might be correct, don't know much about what TLO's been up to since his injury. I know that when Mover (i think he's called that) moved out and TLO went to live in the netherlands with Nazgul because of his injury, the other players brought in Naugrim and Cytoplasm. Can you link to the thread?
