Ukraine.

Best toss, best Zerg, and some pretty damn good terrans.

Naniwa>Whitera, at least right now. Dimaga has showed way to little results/achievements to be considered the best european Zerg, id say Ret probably holds that title. Beating Nestea in one series doesnt suddenly make you a Bonjwa

Sweden is probably the best. Ukraine, Germany and Canada are all stacked too. Lots of great Russians as well.

I have been afraid of opening this thread being afraid that it would turn into another flame war. Pleasantly surprised.

Sweden or Ukraine.
Russia has some good players too, but we don't see them very often

The US has far more players in the Top 100 ELO in TLPD than Sweden. ThorZain and Naniwa are killing it right now, but MorroW is not what he used to be, and Sjow is no better than [insert random NA player here] in his current form right now.

Sheth, IdrA, Kawaiirice, Tyler, qxc, Response; but Sweden has others like Sase as well.

The real 'numbers' country is Canada, afaik they have the most players in the Top 100 ELO atm, but no real superstar.

As for my opinion, I think China, Ukraine, USA, Sweden, Canada, and Germany are the top countries.

Gotta take into account that sweden has roughly 9 million citizens, whereas the US has close to 300 million?

Edit: USA has 311,314,000 (May 9, 2011), Sweden has 9,422,661 (February 28, 2011)

In terms of number of players who realistically could win Dreamhack/MLG/Assembly/NASL standard tournaments you'd have to go with Sweden followed by Ukraine with Germany/Canada/USA following. Pointless imo to discuss players below that level as contributing to their nations status for this discussion.

Sweden has also earned the most price money outside of Korea.

Population isn't that important. More important is what % of that population is heavily into esports. You'll find that esports as a whole is much more popular in Sweden than in NA. While yes US will still probably have more people overall, the difference isn't as large as the two population differences will make it seem.

I'd say Sweden as well.

Sweden's Terran is especially terrifying.

IMO Ukraine has the best. Who can argue that when Dimaga and White-ra came form Ukraine?
