Idra isn't staying in Korea long-term, but Huk and Puma are. So a guy who can't speak Korean and a guy who can't speak English will be living together, I'm sure they'll get along very well, but I can't imagine it being anywhere near as good of a practice environment as the oGs house. I think we can expect a couple more changes before October.

This. I can't see Huk being better after leaving the oGs house.

I don't think anyone has tried to argue that the oGs house doesn't have better practice lol

"buying" players isn't how to do it IMO though. I like what they're doing with the practice house and supporting players playing in Korea more than acquiring established players from outside EG.

Oh I know, Huk and Puma's training environments are definitely going to suffer, but they'll help the rest of EG get better I suppose.
I wonder if Huk and Puma will be able to stay in top form with mostly EG and KR ladder for training.

Way to listen PainUser. He just asked Idra something Idra just said.

@TOPIC/QUESTION
I personally have no beef with EG, but I feel like they are taking on the personality of a "villain" team, sort of like the Yankees in baseball. I think EG taking this role could actually add a lot of fun to team leagues and the scene in general. Has this been a conscious choice on the part of EG?

Unlikely. Like the Yankees, they just have money bags and buy players so other people don't like them as much as a natural response.

Hey, the average height may have decreased, but at least you guys might be contenders for the MLG relay races. :p

I'm not sure about EG, but Idra certainly has adopted the role on purpose.

meh it depends on your strategy and preference. Buying or building doesn't really reflect to my point at all. EG has been a top dog in esports for over a decade and they've had a sc2 team (the largest global esport right now) that hasn't performed well at all. It's been terrible as an EG fan.
they have members that do a lot for the community and that's wonderful but from a pure competitive level EG has fallen short, aside from IdrA, since the team was formed.

and the Yankees owner (well the old one) cared more about the game of baseball than about the business of baseball. Scoots is pretty cool for esports, and he's not just some passionless moneybag trying to get a decent ROI on a lazy investment.

this could essentially be a very good segment of questions... or a very terrible.

unfortunately, i don't think that we should have much faith in the ITG call-ins. maybe the recent events will bring some good questions out of the woodwork though

I still want to know why Idra isn't going to IEM :<

any team with the resources would do what they deem necessary to stay on top. They dont really choose to play the role, they just fit the role.
